Haedron
Holy plague Batman! Excellent work - and the extra effort in painting, as you put it, really made my jaw drop. I am looking forward to those Defiler heads and, most of all, the Plaguereaper. Bring it on! Jokersminis
This is a pretty sweet thread. I love the GS work and the conversions are top-notch. The painted models are sweet as well. _Cadaver_
i'm so :P ;) ;) . Can you tell me how do you paint your plagues marines ? Ps: sorry for my bad english, because i come from switzerlandand i don't speak very good english. Your english is fine. ;) The basic paint scheme is primed black, basecoat of catachan green, drybrush of camo green, drybrush of rotting flesh. Brown ink is added to the crevasses and around any rivets and other similar parts. Armor trim is chanmail with a black ink and then a brown ink. Nurglely bits have additional layer of bleached bone on top of the other layers, followed by a purple wash and then a purple/red wash. Hope that helps. _Cadaver_
Your english is fine. msn-wink.gif thanks. Do you dilute your ink before to wash the marines ? I used Didi's magic ink, which has pretty good consistency right out of the bottle, but in some areas I do water it down a bit, mostly on the mutated nurgle bits where I do several coats. _Cadaver_
Finished the 3rd squad today. Except the eyes. I always forget the damn eyes. Also I should note the yellow helmet looks particularly like crap in these pics. It's actually not bad in real life it's just got a funny angle in the pic I guess. It' also has the chipped paint effect which might be why it looks weird in the pick. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard086.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard087.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard088.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard089.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard090.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard091.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard092.jpg I had planned to keep doing a bit more painting before going back to converting anything else but I've had ideas flowing for my next defiler and I really wanted to take a break from painting for a bit and get the second defiler built so I can play some larger games even with if it means using unpainted models. So here's the initial design: "Oh noes I is aspoldin' in my pants!" http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard085.jpg ....Ok, I just got bored when dry fitting some bits and my mind went straight in the gutter. I took a picture to document my immaturity. Idle hands and all that. :P Now here's the real pictures: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard093.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard094.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard095.jpg Basically just the torso design. The head is just propped in place for now. I'll be filling it in with greenstuff and the smoke launchers have been drilled out and will have wires running to the back of the head. I guess I should also mention this defiler is going to be a bipedal mech looking defiler. I wanted to do something completely different from my other one. I didn't do really any planning for the model before I started building it and just kind of started assembling things on the fly. So I'm not really sure if I'll keep the cannon on the chest. It'll be a bit of a pain to change since it's glued together but I'll see how things look once the model gets a little further along. Cassarus
The plauge marines looks "fine" too me, you got a nice colour schem that gives them a strong impression. And the second defiler looks good so far, I'll think I will be start bulding mine after I finished my second dg unit. Hasent decided how to build it yet though. Albreck
A-MA-ZING. Love the new defiler, and funny pics xD. The 3rd squad looks good mate, I specially like the champion . kenshin138
I'm normally not a fan of green plague marines but these look great! My favorite is the melta gunner with the chaos warrior head and skaven backpack; he just has a certain look of "get some". And your first defiler pic looks less like you described and more like he has a serious case of Hulkamania going on. Whatcha gonna do brother?! _Cadaver_
That meltagun plaguemarine is definitely my favorite I've made so far. I really need to get a few more of those helmets. They looks so good on plague marines. A hulk hogan defiler... maybe I should do that instead. Whatca gonna do when the red and yellow is runnin' all over you? :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/5/#findComment-1555104 Share on other sites
brother Hastatus
Nice! I particularly like the green stuff work you've been doing. And the painting on the rhino is amazing. I may have to do some Death Guard so that I can practice my greenstuffing skills. _Cadaver_
Defiler #1 is 100% complete, based and ready for paint! The flash kind of hides it but there are shallow holes drilled in the gas mask filter to give it a more realistic look rather than just a simple cylinder. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard096.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard097.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard098.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard099.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard100.jpg Hopefully I'll be able to make the second defiler even cooler than this one. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/5/#findComment-1556332 Share on other sites

Kerrigan
:P :tu: That's great stuff! Your modelling skills are amazing and you have great ideas! Love the gasmask. "I suck my titty!" (because my mommy didn't breastfeed me) :) ;) I started painting mine, after a pause in which I made and painted a new hive tyrant. I shall post pics soon of my PIP. _Cadaver_
More pics of the second defiler. This one seems to be coming along a lot quicker than the first. I can't really get a good pic of the pose it will have until more is glued together but here's the legs and torso so far: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard101.jpg Legs close up: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard102.jpg I changed the pipes on the back from the Ork bits to these, mostly just to keep the vent theme running throughout all my vehicles. I may have gone a bit overboard, though, it looks a bit like a naval mine. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard103.jpg A little bit of wire work I've started for the limbs: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard104.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/5/#findComment-1556592 Share on other sites
Cassarus
Looks good so far, walking straight up is always an intresting way to build a defiler. I dont always like it, have seen some bad exampels ut there, but I'm sure You will pull it off, you usualey do ;) Cheers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/5/#findComment-1556683 Share on other sites
