Widowmaker
Throw money at the problem Cadaver ;) Office Depot has light boxes with 2 lamps included for $30 (or they did about 4 weeks ago) (Let me tell you how much that information annoyed me given the fact that I'd bought a box not long before from elsewhere. Lets just say it was not that cheap :) ;) ;) :P ) Love the way these guys are coming along by the way. The new paint scheme and the raptors are awesome. Grimdour The Incinerator
This is the best army conversion I've ever seen. I highly suggest entering the Defiler and the current tank you're making into the Golden Demon awards. Please. I highly suggest entering the Defiler and the current tank you're making into the Golden Demon awards. Please. Man, I wouldn't stand a chance in a Golden Daemon competition. Those guys are on a whole other level than me, well many, many levels higher to be completely honest. Maybe one day though. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/7/#findComment-1582716 Share on other sites

Messanger of Death
 I want those skills of yours, how much do you sell them? Maybe you could put them on the shares market. That way we can all have some of your skills and you can make money from it as well lolz. I might build a Plague Tower at some point but it's not really high up on the list. I haven't played a single game of Apocalypse so the time and effort could probably be put towards more practical projects. I hope to ge around to it at some point though. I want those skills of yours, how much do you sell them? Maybe you could put them on the shares market. daemonclaw
those reapers are pure genius so stolen  well done sir looking forward to more. as for the pinvice accident ,i too had similar cuts and scrapes with my plaguemarines (and i thought it was khorne who wanted blood)and everytime my mate uses my deathguard against me he ends up with a cold or flu or other nurgly curses, its justice really as he nearly always wins with them, but i digress  love the work keep em coming and looking forward to seeing paint on the reapers Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/7/#findComment-1590157 Share on other sites
_Cadaver_
It's been awhile. I almost let the whole month of June slip by without an update. I just couldn't let that happen. So I've been hard at work all week painting a few characters. The daemon prince got a new head not too long ago and I built a Sorcerer in Terminator armor based of the Typhus model. The head is from the WFB Dark Emissary with the horns cut off. The Sorcerer: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard136.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard137.jpg I need to go back and add some weird psychic effects to his eye. I think that will make him look a bit creepier. The Daemon Prince: http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard132.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard134.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard135.jpg I'm extremely happy with how the Daemon Prince turned out. I got my hands on a bunch of the new washes and found that Devlan Mud was the perfect color to use for my technique for painting bones. I also used some washes on the arm wound and pustules and inflamed skin around them. I had so much fun painting this guy I think I want to do another. Alpha PTP
Wow. That model is fantastic. The gas mask and the wings are a nice touch. I wish the wings were bigger, though. Right now they look a tad small. I also really like how you paint your flesh. It really gives that rotten, morbid, and diseased look. daemonclaw
what an amazing pair of models ,love the painting on both and the composition is spot on . one question ,the DPs mask is that a part or homemade as i think it is awesome and fits the model perfectly  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/7/#findComment-1612328 Share on other sites

Right now they look a tad small. I also really like how you paint your flesh. It really gives that rotten, morbid, and diseased look. Alpha The wing size is intentional. I thought it would be really fitting for a Nurgle prince to have basically rotting semi useless wings that through the powers of Chaos still allowed him to fly. I also find the dragon wings alot of people use for DPs to be a bit overkill and in certain cases can take away from the rest of the model. I think that I achieved a nice balance with this one and everything works together. He went through alot of different designs but I'm definitely happy with how he turned out. I'm really happy with the contrast of colors and the skin is probably my favorite part. I can honestly say I think this is my best model to date, both in terms of conversion and painting. I'm extremely happy with this guy. what an amazing pair of models ,love the painting on both and the composition is spot on .one question ,the DPs mask is that a part or homemade as i think it is awesome and fits the model perfectly :) The mask is the same base as the one I used on my defiler. It's a Orc warboss mask with the horns replaced with vents, although this one has straps sculpted around the back of the head. Alpha PTP
Well, by I meant the wings are too small, I meant they looked out of proportion to the rest of the model. They give the look you want, and I know what you mean, I just think it would be better if the wings were a tad bigger. Kerrigan
It's a nurgle humming bird  I like it. Painting is top notch too. I still have to get used to the washes... they're so different from the inks I use since the beginning of my army. About the wings, they are só small it looks petrified and done on purpose, so I think you can do it. For my DP, I wanted to use winged nightmare wings (enlarged), but thougt they were still too small. But hey, they can only "fly" 12 inches, that's not much :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/7/#findComment-1612624 Share on other sites

_Cadaver_
I've got a few updates to report. I finished my first squad of terminators. Only 2 more to go. The pics are a bit crappy but I was in a rush. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard001-3.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard002-3.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard003-3.jpg I also started painting the Defiler. I should have him finished within the next few days. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/DeathGuard004-2.jpg And last but not least, my commissioned GUO has arrived and he's a big 'un. He was sculpted by Waargh of Tau Online and the project log for his construction can be viewed here. http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/GUO002.jpg http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q15/lonestarcody/GUO001.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/7/#findComment-1644660 Share on other sites

_Cadaver_
:D how much did that big boy cost you back in the end? also where do you live, and what hours are people out in your house? I need to, um 'borrow' that. ;) I think it was around $200AUS for supplies, building and shipping it to me. So I guess that would be roughly 100 pounds. Oh, and I live in Texas, if you want to fly from the UK to my house and get it. I will shake your hand, hand it over to you and wish you the best.* The trip alone would cost many times more than the model! :P *Note: I do not guarantee any remarks made in this thread. Some gamers might be crazy enough to hold me to it! :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/7/#findComment-1645987 Share on other sites

_Cadaver_
I live right outside Austin. I wouldn't mind seeing these in person sometime. You ever hit the Lair? Sounds like a trap. :P Nah, just kidding. I don't play a whole lot since I've been so busy building and painting the stuff but now that I'm getting a substantial army painted I'd be down for a game if you want. I go to both Dragon's Lair and Battle Forge. DL is a bit closer to me but either place is cool. Also, if you don't know there's a great local forum for us Austin players at blacklotusarts.com. Just send me a PM if you want to get a game. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/124279-death-guard-blog/page/7/#findComment-1646607 Share on other sites
