That I'm thinking of using as the reactor.. well I got about 3-4 hours into the cutting/building part of this guy and its safe to say he's gunna be a beast.. I'll post some pics of him next to my warhounds tonight so you can get a sense of how huge it is.. and for those of you that think this is too big for a warlord the seattle GW battle bunker is making one right now that gunna be like 5-6 feet tall

cheers,

Well here's my first real update. Got the bolts for whats going to hold the arms and started attaching some of the pieces I've already cut out. After getting them on there I realised I'm going to need to rethink some of my design. I need to move some of the under structure around but that will have to wait till tomorrow. Well until next time, here are the pics.

Ha yeah I am using mdf. The frame is 1/2" but the "skin" is only 1/4". So far the weight isn't too bad, but its only going to get heavier ;) . I just hope it never falls on anyone's minis.. or anyone for that matter. Thanks about the warhound! I really need to finish that one. I got a tourny coming up so maybe that will give me some motivation.

Cheer,

  • 3 weeks later...

I got some work done on the frame for the top and I tore open this Plasma ball light for the reactor. Even though it doesn't look like much this really is a big push forward. tomorrow I'm hoping to figure out how to secure the plasma ball light and make both the power supply and the switch accessible. Well here are some blurry pics :( I really need a real camera

what i never understand is how your gonna make the head???

i mean that must take up half of the planning and making time, especially on the warhound

i've seen many WIP titans, finished and not but barely ever do they have a decent head

looks really good so far though what weapons are you going to give it??

As far as how I'm gunna equip it I don't know but probably a gatling blaster and a volcano cannon for the arms.. The gatling blaster just looks too cool not to have..

thats way to big to be a warlord scale wise. see, the warhound is 10.5 lets make it 11 inches

well the reaver is only 14in tall and if you look in the apocolyspe book the warlord is standing next to the warhound and if you say the warhound is 11 in tall then the warlord is only about 25 to 30 in tall sry scale my thing ever since my friend argued that a atlas was 200 feet tall i just laughed (oh thats battletech for the young ones)

@ ultra tacticus: the FW warhound model is 10 1/2" mine is 12-1/2". Scale doesnt seem to be super important in 40k anyway, take a space marine for example it's the same size as a guard.. So I'm thinking +/- 6 inches in a titan is no biggy well imo anyway.. thanks for the comment!

well he's what I got done today.. It's almost time to start working on the arms and legs.. YAY!!

@ IamJacksUserName: Thank you! and thanks for back up on the scaling

@ shinjikun1: Thanks I thought so too :P and to answer your question - yup.. kinda.. That whole thing is gunna be the connection between the upper body and the legs/waist thats actually what I wanted to work on today but since my car crapped itself I don't have a ride to the hardware store till my brother gets off work

If you can get that reactor static light to function and be visable inside the warlord it'll be an insane addition. Thats one of the coolest details i've seen on a titan yet.

Nice clean build as well. Seems like americans like to build the titans to the point of almost being bullet proof with the construction method and material. You could probably stand on that thing right now and not do any damage.
