DIDM
Yes, Joaquin Phoenix is a perfect choice for Fulgrim. For me, I say Rutger Hauer as Konrad Curze. He's good at such weird roles (rember him form Blade Runner?). Brad Pitt would make a good Fulgrim Clooney as Dorn Alex Pettyfer as Sanguinius Jonathan Goldsmith as Russ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/130786-horus-heresy-movie-fictitious/page/23/#findComment-2885794 Share on other sites

DIDM
Clooney as Dorn You know, I like Clooney's looks, but I just don't see his voice fitting with Dorns'. Too weak imo. there really aren't any good actors that could play a real looking Primarch. Unless the rest of the cast were all 4 feet tall. I don't think that they could make a good Hollywood film, animated yea, not live action though. Guerilla Commando
If they made an animated version then it should use the graphic technology the used for the cinematic of Dawn of War 2, not for Ultramarine which was quite disappointing in my opinion Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/130786-horus-heresy-movie-fictitious/page/23/#findComment-2885992 Share on other sites

Jim Shady
After some thought, debating with my flat mate, we just aren't going to see this, seeing as GW like to keep a firm grip on the 40k universe. I'm not sure what would get them to go "Hey, maybe a film series like Star Wars etc will be awesome..." etc etc. Maybe something on FB, like getting RATM to get to Crimbo numbero uno or a Hollywood bigwig finishing up a Heresy novel after finishing up his Pina Coloda on some sun soaked beach somehwere hot! Plus, do we realy believe that if this were to be made, the Primarchs would be someone we all know or would the director/producer find some uneartherd gem that we've never heard nor seen. Midwest
I'm thinking Joaquin Phoenix as Lorgar could be good - Lorgar is sort of like Gladiator's Commodus in my opinion. I think Zachary Quinto (Sylar from Heroes) could make a good Corax or Kurze, or even Alpharius. And maybe Matthew Goode (Veidt in Watchmen) I think could play a good Fulgrim. Corax – Christian Bale(fits but i think Sthepen Lang would fit better) Curze – Joseph Gordon Levitt/Mads Mikkelsen Khan - Ken Watanabe (he is) Guilliman – James Purefoy / Paul Walker/aaron Eckhart Lorgar – Colm Feore (imagine him in gold skin like the xerxes gay douche of 300)/Paul Bettany Angron - Jason Statam or Gerard buttler (vin diesel also fits) Mortarian - Ralph Fiennes (voldemort) Perturabo - Vinne Jones Alpharius and Omegon- the rock Vulcan – Lance Reddick/peter Mensha Magnus – Damian Lewis (yep he is magnus indeed)/Michael C.ÇHall/sean Bean Russ – Hugh Jackman(not rly him i dunno but in blonde he wont look cool imo but)/Chris Hemsworth/Karl Urban Sanguinius – jhonny Deep just maybe in case he dnt want Orlando Bloom or Joseph Gordon-Levitt (NPH :)?) Ferrus – Ron perlman or Ray Stevenson/Peter Stormare Arhiman - Cliff Curtis Luther - Stellan Skarsgård/Rober deNiro/Braian cox Sisgmund- Bruce willis (check the first edition of black templar codex) Khärn- Andy whitfield (Q_Q + T_T)/Desmond Harrington Abbadon- Kevin Durand Sigilite - Stephen McHattie Garo - Colin Ferrel/Cole hauser Loken - Sam Worthington/James Ransone/mark walgberg erebus- Kevin spacey/edward norton any Space wolf capt- Brendan Gleeson Tarviz - chris Pine Throgaldon - Bryan Cranston the list of relevant chars during the heresy is damn long to put all of them a face, specialy the ones who got vaporized at itsvan camp. The 13th Goat
Wow, Threadomancy to they extreme. Been a long time since this was discussed. Onto your list, your actors don't seem to fit the Primarch. Clive "Perpetually bored" Owen as the most Charismatic leader in the Universe? Leonardo De Caprio as a Primarch? And The Rock as the most complex character in the series? Yuk... Apothecary Vaddon
What I disagree with the most is Vigo Mortenson/Connery as the Emperor. Maybe in a parody, okay. But no way Jose in a legit movie. I could see Neeson, but I don't know, the Emperor is real deep, you know, like Ras al Ghul al Freud al Aristotle. Naik
alph and omegon are indeed complex chars but i dont see how you can act like you are complex i mean they are both complex by their actions, they subterfugies but not cause their faces dunno, and yea leo its kinda lame but still a great actor, big no for neeson as emperor and clive has tha good/bad point, like travolta or alpachino dunno if i am expressing right. saddly im sure wont be any film director checking this QQ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/130786-horus-heresy-movie-fictitious/page/23/#findComment-2992199 Share on other sites
The 13th Goat
Allow me to say this once and for all on behalf of all Alpha Legion fans: We do NOT want The Rock playing our primarch. Alpharius and Omegon are masters of stealth and subterfuge; they do not go around sniffing ther air, raising eyebrows and dropping elbows. Also, your forgetting most of the Legion change their identity to look like the Primarch. Can you imagine 10'000+ Rock's? Imagine the sheer amount of horrible movie that could be made? Pariah Mk.231
A few ideas for the pot. Alpharius: Vin Diesal - He fits the desciption of Alpharius almost perfectly. Russ: Stellan Skarsgard - He was fantastic as Cerdic (Saxon King) in King Arthur. Conrad Curze: Callum Keith Rennie - Played Leoben in Battlestar Galactica, good with the cryptic. Angron: Manu Bennet - Crixus in the Spartacus series -OR- Karl Urban. Corax: Alessandro Juliani- Felix Gaeta from Battlestar Galactica. Lorgar: Mel Gibson - C'mon, that scene in Braveheart (you know the one) proves he can pull off the "fiery orator". Dorn: Have to admit, I'm in agreement about Ed Harris on this one. Fulgrim: Jonathan Rhys Meyers - Henry VIII in The Tudors. Lion - Russel Crowe - At least, that's the impression I got from the books. Mortarian: Viggo Mortonsen - Did a good job playing Lucifer in The Prophecy, I think he'd be a decent Mortarian. Purturabo: Jim Caviezal - Passion of the Christ. Sanguinius: Vincent Cassel - Bad guy in Brotherhood of the Wolf. Khan: Honglei Sun - Jamukha in Mongol. Magnus: Anthony Hopkins - His voice is exactly how I picture Magnus, and you'd probably have to CGI him anyway, so it works. Horus: Mark Strong - Lord Blackwood in Sherlock Holmes, also voiced Titus in Space Marine. Guilliman: Sean Bean. Vulcan: NOT Samual L. Jackson, that's for sure, he's way off. I'm thinking Kevin Grevioux - Raze from Underworld. Ferrus Manus: Arnold Vosloo - Imhotep in The Mummy The Emperor: Honestly, I don't even know where to start. Pariah Mk.231
Dorn - Denzel washinton (did any1 noticed dorn is a black guy?) Have you got a source to back that up? Pg 131 of Horus Rising: "His lean face was stern and unsmiling, even when the Warmaster raised a joke, and his hair was a shock of white, bleached like dead bones". Makes no mention of his skin tone, so unless you've got another source, I've not seen anything that implies what you're saying.
