By the way, what blues did you use on the plasma gun for the glow?

Basecoat of hawk turquoise, wash with blue ink, with turquoise/white highlights.

I've managed to get 3 tac marines done for Squad Tolov, im going to start on another bolter and a plasma cannon later on, i'll update in my wip thread later. For some reason these 3 took forever, hopefully I can make up some time on the rest of the squad.

i love the way you have made the plasma glow...like its alive bwahahaha...ahem sorry bout that. i like it and think you could go far. my critiscism would be that it's very standard modelling and maybe more dynamic conversions perhaps. all in all very nice midian.

Did you see the squad at the start of the thread?

Every squad will be split into combat squads in this army, each combat squad will be doing a different job. This on is giving covering fire, while the next one will be moving.

As always: Awesome work there! I love the glow on the Plasma Cannon. I usually don't like this sort of lighing-effect because as with NMM most people try and fail miserably, but your's really looks as if it's glowing! Awesome. ^_^ And like Molotov, I too look forward to Sergeant Tolov. Have you decided what to do with the fist yet? Checkers? Hazard stripes? Black?

No solid plans as of now, but I am going through the 2nd ed marine books to get some ideas.

Its been too long since I last updated the log (damn wedding planning), but i've not finished much apart from the Black Legion Terminator, and for some reason didn't take any wip photos of anything else.

I have managed another pair of tactical marines though - If I can ge the last 3 for the squad finished by UK Games Day i'll be happy.

I really need to speed up my painting.

Cheers fellas. Wedding planning isn't the most fun thing to do but if it keeps her indoors happy then so be it.

As promised, i've got another 2 tac marines finished, just varnish needed for these guys now.

Onto Sgt Tolov now.

They look great. I like the combat knife in the fist and think it's cool that you've managed to include the Company badge on the MkVI greaves. Thumbs up!

Cheers,

It wouldn't be feel right if I didn't get the company marking onto the greave. I did almost forget to do it at one point though.

Great work as always. Your Sword Bearers rock! Love the way you pose your minis, especially the Meltagunner above. I look forward to seeing what you make of the long awaited Sgt. Tolov! And good luck with the wedding-plans! When's the Big Day?

The black knuckles on the powerfist really do work! I'm glad to see a legal Sword Bearers army! I have to admit that the Sword Bearers are probably my favourite army on the B+C. They're neatly painted and well-executed. Nothing crazy-different, but they still stand apart and are distinct.
