hmmm needs more tentacles

DAvy jones ;) Too bad there isn't a T there ;) (Funnily enough, that rendition of Davy Jones has always been pretty awesome to me, so it may be related to my desire for more tentacles under your miniature. Or it may not.)

EDIT: While I'm not overly whimsical, this post has given me an idea :)

That's pretty cool, in a beetle-y sort of way. It looks like something the Heritor would cook up of an afternoon. :P

hey all after a break doing other stuff i could no longer resist the crazy scratching in the dark that is chaos

so i decided to return to vauhl harrack in an earlier less twisted by chaos incarnation .

he is arm an head magnetised for swapping weapons and helmeted or the unstifling freedom of showing a full head of hair (cuzz hes worth it)

You've well and truly still got it man, this whole thread has been awesome, from the beginning up to now :P Chock full of character too.

Are you going to add some more detail to the plasma pistol on the latest guy? Looks a little plain as is.

brother red zhoolda cheers guys

draakur cheers and yes will be doing more to get it looking better

teku cheers i use lots of different ideas doing greenstuff, some are a couple of minutes one peice of green shaped as the moment takes me (like the guy in my sig)others are several sessions of adding bits or cutting back and readding bits to get it right, and others still are adapted press moulds alterd after about 20 minutes to my liking.cloaksand tabbards are made by putting blue tack in a plastic bag and moulding it into a shape then spreading greenstuff over the top to replicate the shape ,later when i have some spare time i will try a tutorial for some

and chhers kapturowoski am an avid follower of your work and its your deathguard that made me attempt this conversion

just a little update with a bit of a tutorial on kneepads i am working on

first a blobb of green smoothed around a standard paintbrush ,

then i use my favourite tool with the leaf point and press lightly in at a slight angle like so

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/greens/RSCN7749.jpg

this is repeated at the right side then bottom sides to create the eye.

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/greens/DSCN7741.jpg

next out with the circle ended tool and press lightly up to the eye in effect ploughing the greenstuff in the eyes direction

and repeat both sides to get this

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/greens/RSCN7748.jpg

as you did earlier either side of the eye you then press up from the bottom to create a third circular indent and then at the sides of these press a little in to make a point to have something like this

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/greens/RSCN7747.jpg

a couple more presses can the get more adventurous like this

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/greens/RSCN7746.jpg

oh and here is the back of nurglechild

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/RSCN7736.jpg

c and c welcome as always cheers

Wow. Now I know I need sculpting tools. And I wish my sculpt-fu someday be like yours.

The Nurglechild looks nice. I haven't knew that TDA suits this model so well. And I really like its tanks (full of rot and pus, am I right? :P ) on the back. Will you add some nurglings?

cheers darkven

yes you are right about the tanks :P

i think i have some nurglings knocking about somewhere so they may find their way on his base

anyhoo on to some paint

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/DSCN7753.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/DSCN7752.jpg

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/DSCN7754.jpg

and here is a few of the kneepads in action

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/greens/RSCN7758.jpg

cheers :) :P :)

ok no takers :D

for anyone still following this here is some paint on the new guy

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/RSCN7728.jpg

I love this guy!

I'm using the Tomb Kings halberd myself now as a vanguard sergeant's relic blade...but now I'm sorely tempted to hack off the end and triple it up!

And your GS sculpting is outstanding. Truly outstanding.

a couple more presses can the get more adventurous like this

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/greens/RSCN7746.jpg

Ok, I call shenanigans! What witchcraft are you using to make this look that easy?!

But seriously, I'm with DarkVen. I think I need to expand my sculpting tool selection and sit down and practice. Great job, and thanks for the inspiration.
