Aw, man, using that skull (I am guessing Necrosphinx, although it might be from somewhere else...) on the Brute is an amazing idea!

Why is everyone coming up with those awesome DV Helbrute conversions, now that I've finally started to paint my own, nearly unconverted version? Talk about bad timing msn-wink.gif

thanx guys

and the cookie goes to.........

KrautScientist@yes.gif

it is indeed from the necrosphynx i would paste a link but my laptop doesnt want to access games-workshop site at the momentwacko.png

and after the initial calls of the DV kits being pretty unconvertable i have found them to be quite flexible with a little effort and being plastic it is a more forgiving medium than metals and failcast imho.and seeing some of the conversions out there it seems many others have found the same conclusion, also i am sure you could pick one up cheap off ebay if you want to do another conversionmsn-wink.gif

skrundle87@the left arm is a conversion of the basic DV fist and the right is from the new kit,its crazy that after putting the new guy together i had parts to continue SIM1AN

thanx again guys for the inspiring comments

Ah, that's the beauty of it: It looks like he added a lower jaw from one of those Ogre kingdoms beartraps smile.png

and right again thumbsup.gif

you need to watch your virtual waistline with all those internet cookies sirlaugh.png

thanx for the replies guys

Hah, watching my waistline seems to be a lost cause, anyway, so keep those internet cookies coming ;)

It is a really clever conversion, though, because it appears so natural: The lower jaw is a great fit, even though both bits come from wildly different armies ;)

Seeing how you seem to own the new Helbrute kit, btw, any chance of a photo of the various head options from that kit, at least the other ones that you didn't use? I'd be immensely interested in seeing them unpainted and away from the Helbrute carapace!

and as requested here are the heads

hope it helps and cheers for the comments again

Aw, mate, that is so awesome of you, thanks a lot! The only missing one is the one you actually used on your Helbrute, right?

As for the heads themselves, they are really cool! Unfortunately, though, even though they use the same ball socket as the regular CSM heads, they are too bulky to be used for anything but Helbrutes -- Termies, maybe, but only with a fair bit of cutting. And am I correct that the two bare, noseless heads are completely identical? And head 12 is basically heads 11 and 15/16 spliced together, by the look of it.

Anyway, thanks a bunch! That was supremely helpful!

no problem sir ,yes the missing one is in the made up helbrute

with the first two bare heads they are really incredibly similar but the one on the right is slightly angrier with a more closed mouth(but very slightly)wink.png

to be honest i thought they could have made a bit more of a change between the two but hey i love the fact chaos got something newlaugh.png

i was also hoping to be able to use the other heads but as you pointed out there is a bit of work to do on them

but to finish on a positive i for one think it is one of the better kits GW have done in a long time for 40k besides the knight

cheers

hey all back with some more brute work

now the question is do i go with the loincloth

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/DSCN9776_zpscf21b070.jpg

or without

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/DSCN9777_zps0316d5de.jpg

and heres the first bloodclaws

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/DSCN9779_zps4d21a69f.jpg

they still need tidying up and more work on the snow as i cant seem to get it rightwallbash.gif

and of course the illusive backpackswhistling.gif

cheers DC

Without I think, though i'd be tempted to add a loose pipe or piece of chain coming from the groin area, nothing huge, but a bit more small detail there would finish it off nicely.

when i first read that bit about loose pipe from groin area it immediately bought to mind old slaanesh marines whistling.gif laugh.png

thanx for the comments and valuable input guys ,i think krautscientist hit the nail on the head with the bestial appearance.i may look into something like midian suggested as i want something different to the same overused imho groinplate .

i did a bit of greenwork on SIM1ON though not the best pic
