thanx and i say go for it brother .i was unsure at first but its about keeping less paint on the brush as you can go over it afterward ,

if you use a wet pallet for it it will help considerably. its not that much different to your marble technique and you did an awesome job there sir

Cheers. I'll keep looking at yours for ideas too msn-wink.gif

ah ha i am an idea yoinker too biggrin.png

i have been sidetracked of late trying to make my own slightly different style of legs to continue my troops down a more gothic route and after much messing about cutting up and repositioning GW legs i decided i had to go full greenstuff sculpt .

now bear in mind this was built up over a wire skeleton so the sizing mat be off but overall i am happy with them as it will help i think to address the overbalanced top heavy feel of chaos troops.the greenstuff looks different colours as i followed advice from this very forum about mixing in milliput to help sand out and get sharper edges

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y30/daemonclaw/DSCN0095_zps8f646a76.jpg

first building it up

and finished starter model with a size comparison

I swear I posted about how great that helbrute is but I think the board ate my post. It's bloody brilliant, anyway.

Your freehand is definitely worthy of envy, too, and it adds a lot to the overall look of those minis. Love how bright the claw arms are, too.

The sculpting work on those legs is very nice, especially like the etch work.

Best advice for scale/sizing is get some calipers, and be as exacting as you can with measuring GW legs and matching sizes - unless you're looking to go bigger! Remember at this scale even half a mil can make a difference.

And that's why I'm so in awe of professional sculptors who work in the 28-35mm range...

Great work on the freehand too.

Impressive work, particularly the engraved detail.

thank you kind sir

i remember your post .thank you sir

Those legs are pretty impressive. I'd like to see a photo of them with a torso on 'em before I pass judgement on them, but so far so good!

thank you and below you can see a pic with a torso

I'm loving the guy with the possessed arm, looks fantastic

cheers mate
