Everything just keeps getting better and better... every time I think, man this army can't get any better, BAM you correct me...

Amazing work, everything, you've got the all round artist thing, great concepts, modeling skills, painting, the whole package, it's really amazing stuff...

thanx again for the comments.

the melta is indeed from the iron warriors box set, maybe there will be some bitz sites that still sell it.

for the sculpt i was thinking of vauhl assending to daemonhood but keeping a more human stance rather than going full on hulk ;) ,as i want him to be daemonic in psychic ability rather than shape.i did some more work but it didnt work out too well so i have cut it back and am remodelling it and will post progress as soon as poss

cheers for looking and feel free with comments about the whole blog or structure of dp in both form and idea

cheers D

thanx again for the comments guys

You must have a GREAT arm.
well it has been known lift a pint or two ;) plenty of practice for a steady hand :P

frost knight @the cape was done as a little experiment i tried on vauhls familiar,i painted the whole thing chaos black then while it was still wet i stippled on a mix of black and midnight blue.(i tried to keep the basecoat quite wet to aid in the paint naturally mixing a little into the other colours)then i stippled on a blood red black 30 /70 mix then 50/50 then blood red alone.

next was orange and then yellow and white .all the colours were wet and set out ready to stipple on, and dipped with separate brushes to minimize too much colour mixing and blending (which is something i am not too good with). i am sure other painters on this site have better ways but this was my attempt which i am quite happy with,it might be a good idea to try it out on some plasticard or similar medium to get the colour water mix right and practice the stippling without too much mixing into a mush colour, beleive me i screwed up on this cloak first time round and had to repaint it black and start again :P

hope it helps sorry i am not too good at tutorials

ps .here is a little update on the green

Those rhinos are absolute madness... B)

They are SO mind disturbing that no foe will ever stand more than 20 seconds before them..

(Turn 1: FIGHT ! ... deamonclaw wins... Fatality !)

Your Hakanor's Reavers are 10.000 times better than GW's one.

It doesn't look like "magical heat causing (armour) to crack and reform like lava", but it's even more strange, as your blending is really smooth.. I love them.

Man your reavers really put mine to shame, they are so clean and crisp and the freehand is gorgeous, just like on your other marines.

I find the green freehand patterns a really refreshing take on power armour, and they really give the models a Tz look without using blues and yellows.

The blog was a great read for me,looking forward to seeing more, especialy your reaver allies!

Hakanor's Reavers now...

They are probably the coolest new renegade scheme, that's why I took a stab at them. Only that one Danish guy seems to be doing it the way I did, you going to highlight the black or leave it flat? Also what color you doing the trim and tubes?

thanx for the warm comments

wiplash@vauhl is the guy at the start of the post but he is on his way to daemonhood in an ascention way rather than grossout monster so i am in the process of a convertion the green of which is in this blog but there is a long way to go

muskie@the trims and tubes wil be a brassor bronze as i love the ancient warm metal look

the defiler@i am hoping for some sort of distraction away from my awfull dice rolling  and in a playtest against a khorne warband vauhls warband fared very well especially the defiler who got all battlecannon shots on target, and rhinos are so damned survivable now.vauhl limped off the battlefield (as we all know commanders dont die they slink off at the last moment ;) )but he did get swamped by 9 charging berzerkers and had to weather 36 st 5 attacks so he didn't do too bad

and hopefully vauhl and his band will be visitng tournaments in 2009

again thanx all for the constructive comments and compliments

cheersD

I saw the entire army pic and I imagined myself deploying against them...I wanted to cry.

fantastic work, very inspiring, and always refreshing to see TS on the board.

an idea for the sculpt: on each of his limbs, sculp something that looks like lightning and paint it the colors of the warp to make it look like it's still materializing, with maybe stray wisps of the warp on the rest of it's body.

Thank the warp for threadomancy!!!

I missed all of this while away in Iraq.

Your work is an inspiration. I scrapped my plans for a chaos army, but this really makes me rethink the concept. Thanks for posting these...... and for bringing them back up

Better days,
