The Black Widows Female Space Marines

Recommended Posts

Fantastic work there Docotr Thunder. I'm very impressed not just by the GS skills you've used to bring out the "feminine" side of these marines bu the actual painting quality. Will you be adding any more vehicles to this over the next few weeks?

Hmm...could you post some more pics of the female marine that is running? because from the way you've photographed it, it LOOKS like it may solve all your problems of sculpting.to me her legs look thinner. i think, its really only the stance that make them look too bulky. all the other legs are really spaced out which makes 'em look...y'know...to man-like

now if you were to put all you female marines with legs like the one that is running (i refer you to http://www.bitzbox.co.uk/ ) i think it would be a good stand-in till your GS skills increase.

alternatively (having read your fluff about these female marines looting power armour) you could represent them with a sisters of battle force, with space marine allies. that way, you could do a minimal amount of PA marines, and still use your termies.

even more alternatively, you could try and use a hobby knife to "cut" away at the armour. for instance

I I is what there legs look like now. very blocky, so on, so forth

) ( is what you could make there legs look like with an almost minimal amount of work.

Got a great looking update for 'yall. All six Drop Pods are completed and painted. Ever since I forst played Dawn of War I've been hooked on Drop Pods. There's just something too cool abouth these things landing in from orbit with that shoooomp! sound.

I must say, as formidable as one looks, there's nothing quite so cool as seeing six of these things all lined up together.

Thanks. ;)

how do you feel that those are in plastic soon? :(

I'm bummed out that I got the forgeworld ones and then two years later just as I finally get them painted they finally get around to doing the plastic ones, but I'm still happy with the way they turned out.

Okay, the Venerable Dreadnaught is all painted and assembled. Big Kudos to my buddy titan136 for his awesome paint job on the Dread.

LA Games Day August 23rd is when I'll be taking these ladies to a tournament for the first time, so hopefully I can get everything done by then. Still got a bunch of ladies in power armor that need to be finished before then.

I don't know how I missed this thread, but this is awesome. I particularly like the artwork. A small suggestion for you though, cut the hair holding parts.. the wrapped bits.. down so that they are only just still there, so that it looks more realistic.. the way you have it now, their hair would literally have to be down to their feet.. shortening the wraps and things would make it look more real, less cartoony.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Well, to be honest, I hate female space marines with a passion. But, for once, I'm not here to comment on my utter disdane for them ^_^ Your painting skills are excellent, and the army is fantastic. I can tell you put a lot of work into these lovely ladies. Excellent work. I look forward to more updates :)

Cheers,

-Kal

Your Basic Troops look different, but if i saw them it would take me a while to see that they were girls...

but it is still much more amazing than any conversions I could do, so Kudos on the Widows

perhaps to slim them down you could file the armour down a bit and resculpt/Smooth bits of it with GS

(Alright, now someone has made an army of chicks, time to scrath that off my list and start looking for a left handed army)

to make your body on the infantry slimer you could cut down the sides to make the body look more T shaped then green stuff the curves and the breasts. then sand it down to get a smooth and rounded figure. I'm trying it out and I'll get back to you. PS amazing work so far keep it up.

Got a big update for you guys today. We’re just days away from the Los Angeles Games Day, and there are just a few models left to go. This is crunch time, let’s just pray nothing goes wrong. I’ll be posting up full army pics in a couple of days. I think you guys are going to like the objective markers for the army.

Here are some squad shots amongst terrain, including the nearly-done scouts.

Here are the individual models. The flash washed out some of their faces, but they are otherwise good pics.

Keep an eye out for a lot of subtle kanji work done on the robes and armor.
