Nipples didnt u already start some horses I think i remember back at DG.org u had a set of the Krieg horsemen didnt u? Those models themselves are pretty sick u want apocolyptic take a look at them...

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/drpsquadstore.jpg

Granted tho the four im assuming they would be heralds all mounted would be nice but not horses Dont think many horses would enjoy a nurgle trooper sitting on him much less horses exsisting in the eye of terror think theyd be a bit mutated by now?

Being a frequenter of the old DeathGuard.org forums this post is pretty interesting to me.

I've long since given up on Death Guard, a fact that may cause MFV and Mr Nipples to sneeze on me to bring back the rot etc or just hate me

No longer have any reason to stick with them, because the pretend DG.prg forums on this site arent very good and dont really inspire me like the old one did. Do either of you agree MFV or MrNipples?

In any case I've always liked both of your styles and takes on Nurgle units and worshippers, so this post is gonna be my faveourite one for a while.

Shame that the DG.org forums died and were sent to the abyss, I miss that place.

I think the guard don't get enough respect, even though they do most of the heavy lifting.

Really? I thought they used servitors for that? Lol, nice idea tho, I vaugely remember seeing an old GD entry depicting a scene similar to that... cant remember the year though...

Good one lol, but hey that servitor was a guardman once. Sevitors seems to be there dreads. Anyway back on topic. How about a dark angel and a space wolf having a duel with other marines from their chapter cheering them on. Plus a =I= standing there sratching his head with a :cuss look on his face.

I want to see a grizzly bear in power armour shooting a heavy bolter 1 handed with a giant cigar chomped between his teeth, I dunno about the rest of you, but that'd be pretty damn epic in my opinion.

I second that, but he needs to have a Rambo-style headband, as well as a scar over one eye.

Oh my god, that's brilliance!

Lurve the idea Kryppers.

Gotta stick to them horsemen though... What was it. A bow, a Sword, a scythe(?) and what else was it?

As for the pose though could I suggest something. Rather than have the free hand beckoning for his enemies hows bout he's just holding the reigns? Idk, when you described the scene I got that he was standing on the edge of a cliff surveying the scene bellow(Peaceful space port below maybe?). Another thing you could do is make the horses skin look stretched over its body. Like its soo buff that its skin may not contain it much longer. It would help to stress the daemonic aspect of the mount. The rider sounds perfect to me  . Love it!

=]D[=

I believe it was a sword, a bow, a set of Scales and the forth rider led hell behind him.

But Otherwise.. I wasn't really suggesting making four horseman.. and aligning them to powers (although.. if you've got the time.. that'd be really cool.) I just used the horseman of the apocalypse to help portray the character.

I suggested the Hammer or Lance.. because they're not conventional Daemon weapons, and it'd be interesting to see how the sculptors would interpret it.

If you wanted to keep the beconing hand you could either attach the Reigns to the Saddle, or considering that the horse and rider were interwined, just not have reigns. Same entity and all that...

Incidently.. it'd have to be huge.. :P

So, Mr. Nipples and I have decided on each doing a generic Khorne Demon first, then we plan on each doing our chaosy version of the four horsemen. I found this on wikipedia and it paints a pretty good picture in my mind, Tzeentch is the only one that doesnt fit, Famine=Gluttony, over excess resulting in nothing left, pestilence=nurgle, duh. War is pretty straightforward too. What would represent death though? Chaos mainfested ultimately in one being? I think in my group, Tzeentch might be left out.

"The first horseman to appear is Pestilence, who rides upon a sickly, decaying horse. Pestilence causes the decay and imminent destruction of the worlds crops and wildlife. In the wake of Pestilence comes Famine, a large and portly rider riding upon a thin and sickly horse, symbolizing gluttony and the lack of food. In the wake of Famine, due to immense fighting over the remaining food supplies, is War. War rides upon a red horse and wields a tremendous sword which he uses to slay the millions in his path. And in the wake of War, comes the black rider, Death. His horse is jet black. He is followed by Hades and carries the remaining souls to their final destinations."

i got one, i saw some people wanting primarchs, and something totally epic, so how about this.

sanguinius doing his lone defense of the eternity gate thing with lesser deamons and traitor marines swarming every where, maybe even a deamon prince some where too.

i would love to see that done....have a lesser deamon of khorne be impaled upon his sword or something.

I still maintain a single undivided horseman would be better :D, you'll get a better outcome then trying to sculpt 4.. and besides, wasn't the point to sculpt something detailed by one of the posts in this thread? :D

either way.. if you do decide to do 4. You'd have to go away from the classical depictions of the horseman, and just theme four around the gods... instead of trying to make conquest, War, Famine/Pestilence and Death fit the chaos cardinals.

i still think 4 heralds of the chaos factions similarly scuplted to the appearance of 4 horsemen.

not neccesarily horses, but daemonic mounts of their faction?

ii jst think that would be a very dynamic and open scuplting opportunity.

Without being a devout or even practising christian, I do belive that is the wrong order of horsemen, and even the wrong ones!?

would love to see a undecided deamon prince that has many layers of cloth chainmail and all very dark and sinister. he would have a almost beastman head with horns bursting out of the flesh and with tattered wings with lots of hooks and wot not atached to them

it should look like its walking forward with a lot of power yet coming out of the shadows where the shadow turns to cloth and with a sword pointing down in a relaxed position and a clawed hand gripping a human and the deamon prince looking straight into his eyes

that would look awsome

Try to get off the idea of relating each of the horsemen to a different Chaos god. Just sculpt four horsemen aligned to each one of the gods. Much simpler, and it will leave you with more room for sculpting opportunities.

Cheers,

make death = tzeentch

he is change and time, and everything dies in time. could have him with an hourglass shaped into a skull to represent time running out on life.

Alright, so it has been decided that there will just be 4 god specific horsemen, they can be tied in with the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse as......why else would one dude from each god unite together and stroll through the galaxy bringing about the end of time in their wake? They are badasses thats why. But first, I've got to talk to mr. nipples and see how what we are doing with the first model. Gotta dig through some of the multitude of ideas on this thread. Keep em coming guys, lots of stuff to go off of here.

I've still got this idea of a Marine or a Guardsman being ripped apart by something like nid or a daemon. Do one of a few guardsmen fighting like a Carnifex, and the fex has a guardsman stabbed onto one claw and another in between his teeth ;)

Sweet and gory :P

Tzeentch is the puller of the puppet strings of fate, the one who cuts the lines of life and decides who will live in damnation and who will die in it.

He is death. Have a death with feathers of crows etc with a bird-skull.

Tzeentch. He is manipulating you.

Right.This.Moment.

*snip*

and you are dead. ;)
