Uhh, yeah, this is freakin' awesome! I'm constantly impressed with your new endeavors. I"m totally and shamelessly stealing you dog house build with the Renegade militia torsos. That guy looks so sweet!

Can't wait to see more!

Properly disgusting and dirty... So since it's what they're supposed to be, very well done! xD

Seriously, the color pattern is a bit different from what we usually see, but excellent nontheless!

I love the "smoke dirt" effect on the vents of the vehicles!

i love the look...but guys keep in mind, its a lot easier to get the contrast and look of certain things over a beige than other colours

for example the dark brown chipped underlayer...it wouldnt show as much if you had a darker main colour and therefor would lose a bit on the effect...same with the rust, it would appear different, and might not appear as nicely either...you need to modify the techniques and applications to achieve the same effect over and with different colours

only thing i can see is the same thing i ran into at first, and thats you need a colour or something to break up the monotone feel of the heavily weathered tanks, are you gonna be adding metallics? or another colour?

they look great though, the numbers on the tops look excellent as well

K step one.

Find the model, heres my rhino i found in a box of old crap. it will be reborn.

Now you paint it whatever color you want the damage to be, in my case I do a reddish brown as mine is representing rust. You can do metallics er whatever you may want.

K, now comes the really icky part. I cant believe it says to spread this on toast and eat it..blluggh. anyways get some marmite, and some kinda applicator. As you can see my applicator is a pencil with an old sponge zip tied to it.

Now apply it, in places you want the damage to be shown.

Paint it the color you want the model to be, in my case I use a kind of rotting flesh look. Let it dry, very important.

Fill up your sink with warm water and some dish soap, and send it to the depths.

Let it sit for a while, i usually give it about 10-15 minutes.

Pull it out and start going to town on it with a toothbrush. Scrub all the marmite off and it will reveal the paint below.

yeah, I'm with you on this one, ugh I can't eve stand the smell of marmite - Chernobyl off-spill is what I call it! :)

Anyway, thanks very much for the tutorial, it's excellent, I look forward to trying this method out on some tanks of my own in the future! :o

Be-au-ti-ful!! Best rust I have seen in a long time. Makes my army look like a cartoon. I can hear the tanks rolling and moaning... stunning work. This style works best I think with a pure chaos marine (mech) army, so no daemonic influence whatsoever.

I love vegemite which I think is the same thing as marmite but never think of sticking it on a model great job tho.

Funny how disgusting everyone finds the stuff else where when here in Australia most people like it... An acquired taste huh.
