My Doublewing (DW squad finished)

I was thinking of having it on the other side. Basically the Shield is wrapped around the Multi-Melta instead of the Heavy Flamer. But I can see why the flamer is there. I think it would be difficult for a dread to pat out the burning promethium without damaging itself.

I totally love the riot shield. Alot of inspiration to that thunderhammer/stormshield dreadnought conversion I've been wanting to do the last 6 years :nuke:

Anyways, can you provide a close-up of how it looks from the other side?

:P

I have to agree that dread is pretty amazing. To be honest I wasn't all sure about that shield when I first saw it - but now finished and painted it is stunning.

[As pre usual if you don't mind I shall add these to your gallery page on thedarkfortress].

Cheers

Mh I'm also a beginner (well, have played and painted 12 years ago or so, buuut your models are really amazing). Why did you add the first 3 layers? So that bleached bones comes out that nice? :-)

I'm also wondering if you firstly add inks or at first the main color... my inks (for example black ink on the hands of my space wolves aren't that nice. I'm also wondering how to paint yellow very nice. How would you layer a nice yellow (sunburst with highlights)? I've always had a first layer with shadow grey, then skull white and then 2 layers of sunburst yellow, but I think it could be way better... I just ask here, because you are such a great painter :-)

Coming on nicely VanSan. looks like you're going the majority bone white route for your Libby and Chappy rather then their specialist colours... nice 'hellfire' by the way - or is it a Force Barrier?

VanSan, I've already commended your work but having seen your Dreads and your most recent character mini more praise is warranted!!!!

A magician with a paintbrush, I probably spend as much time on each mini as you but couldn't even hope to achieve the same results. Again, well done :P

Ive got to agree, that Librarian is fantastic. The weapon, tubes/cables, the active power, the cloth hood, all extremely well done both in sculpt for the conversion work and painting for all of it. I cant wait to see the Int-Chap, the hood is again very well done and I imagine your version of that great sculpt may be even more impressive. Great libby, I was never a fan of the model till now, and despite proxying him multiple times now with great success I never wanted to buy one. I may have to look at doing so now that Ive seen a painted version I liked a lot. Well done.
