What he said above. :o

I love the progress on the Decimator! It looks awesome! I love the dread's colours as well. I really must try this technique on my Sons of Doom in the future.

Well done indeed metcalfedan! I definitely can't wait for the next update! :D

Hey all. Having recently re-found B&C, this thread was one of the first I read and well, Great Job, very inspiring, so I had a go myself...

Only detailed the salamander, but really like it, so I may repaint my 1500+ pts of salamanders that I painted up for Armageddon (3rd ed)...

Again, Great work, thanks

Kal

PS For any SWC folks, these pics are up in the blog section there too ^_^

Master Chief strikes again!!! Duhn duhn duhn!!!

Cool paintjob.

Oh, and Metcalfedan, would one be able to skip the Badab Black wash if they started out with a darker metallic basecoat?

I'm not sure; the reason I use those colours are:

mithril silver = nice bright base, provides enough colour after many washes.

badab black = the (and I can't stress this enough) TONAL layer, provides some depth in colour on the model.

asurmen blue/other colours = these are there to make the right colour, and make the model look nice.

I suppose you could try with a darker base but you might miss out a bit on the tonal aspect...

Ok, here are those pics of Pedro:

Next up: any suggestions? I was thinking sternguard or devastators... any requests (from what I already have, I'm not going to be buying any more marines for a while, I'm starting guard you see...)

To anyone who wants to do Dark Angels with this: I think the old Dark Green ink, undiluted in a couple of coats would work wonders. I'd post pics of the Necron Lord I used it on (painting christmas present for my mate), but I don't have a camera, and he's not PA.
First of all, I hereby declare this thread is an Epic win :P ....secondly, well done lad, you have inspired us all! *slaps you on the back* ^_^ Next, I am going try this method on me wolvez and see how it turnz out....though its going to take me some time to figure out how to get this done.... <_< Btw, do you have a pic of that DA marine model that is also painted in/with this method? Many thx in advance! ^_^

Sorry for misleading you, I never painted a DA in this method (or any other for that matter), I painted some parts of a Necron Lord with Orb with it, and thought it would make a suitable Viva Metallica DA Green.

I just tried it out on an Eldar Dire Avenger (Yes yes, heresy) last night, using an all metal scheme, I did the armour blue, the helmet crest and face gold (Gryphonne Sepia) and the gun and tabard purple.

I'd post a picture, but it's not PA :cuss

Well since its a painting technique i'd say that imho its ok to post the image of the eldar although their armour seems more of a weave of fibres than an all metallic armour.

I tried the technique on my spacewolves and liked the result...probably i'll have to base the painting on boltgun metal for pre-heresy but its turning out neatly i like it :cuss

Picks to come when i get my camera back.
