Reminds me of Prince of Persia.

Also, if you get WD, can you remember which one the plastic Balrog was released in?

Nope sorry, why? are you interested in that thing in the background?

Anyway...

Here's that golden colour I did:

I also finished the conversions for two more tactical squad sergeants:

Oh yeah and hubs, there are some more pics of my back-flipper marines in that conversions thread.

EDIT: Here: CLICKY

I think i speak for many people when I ask for your gold recipe ^_^

Very cool.

I have been thinking of mixing colours, ie a blue and purple wash, blue/green, red/purple etc to get the inbetween colours that arent available.

Maybe Gryphon Sepia and Thraka might make a dark lime-y colour?

Ahhh I see. Cheers. One thought - he's not really... back-flipping. More like walking :P

Well, he was one of my first 40k conversions, so he is quite old.

Exactly the same as the blue, green or other colours just washed with gryphonne sephia ;)

Probably, I will try this at some point, but not for a long time, give it a go and see what you get :D

Thanks guys, 2 more command squadders are almost done, just need to base them. I'll put some pics up tonight. :)

Right, here's those 2 marines:

All I have to do now, is base them :P

Great stuff, as always!

Wish I had more than my AoBR Tacticals, so I could convert poses as cool as these.

At least I can slap on a coulpe of FW-arms on my AoBR dread & make an Ironclad out of it...

*crosses fingers for the mail order to arrive soon*

Say, you don't happen to have any metallic vehicles or dreads painted yet?

I saw a silver dread above, but I was hoping for somtheing with a tint of colour in it.

Sorry, that dread is the closest thing I have to a painted vehicle at the mo...

But Captain Mick has some good metallic vehicles in his army blog thread, haven't you got a land raider and vindicator Mick? I can't remember.

Can't wait to see those assault marines too :)

EDIT: oh yeah, new avatar

EDIT 2: That reminds me, I'm also planning on getting some dreadnought arms from forgeworld, I haven't decided but I know that I want a few to be able to swap them round for MAXIMUM flexibility.

Or all of them? I don't know...

Personally, I'm going for a Mk IV assault drill (counts as a seismic hammer) and a right-armed DCCW. I'll try to fix my dreads up to be 100& convertible even in between the Ven/iron/Vanilla varieties.

It will make my Ironclads stand out from the crowd, no doubt. =)

I'd go with them as the heavy flamer can kill orks and 'nids and the P cannon for MEQs.

Just my 2 cents, keep up the good work, nice gold by the way.

Atm i got a Vindicator and Land Raider Crusader indeed. Today i bought 3 Rhino`s, 1Razorback and 1 Whirlwind and some normal troops so i will try to get them online soon when i got progress on them ;).

Plasma Cannon for Definate then ;)

I'll probably eventually get a Mk4 Dread and use it as an iron clad - It just looks soo nice!

Been a bit busy lately, just got a new TV for my room and it's quite hard to set up. Will update soon, with some more experimental chapters, and I think i'm going to swap that lascannon marine in the first tactical squad for a plasma cannon.

Plasmas FTW!

I suggested a few posts back about mixing washes - Blue and Green to be exact.

I finally bought some of the washes and this is the result of:

Chainmail

Green Wash

Blue Wash.

Took me 2 hours including undercoat to do the 3.

They are test models for my army scheme...

Not sure about the eyes. they are very vivid and i think need to be redone.

Wow! that green and blue is cool! Sons of Horus anyone?

As for the eyes, just give them a wash of black and then gloss varnish - easy and effective:

http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f139/metcalfedan/IMG_0483.jpg

The left model is just scab red with gloss varnish, and the right one is scab red, with badab wash and gloss varnish. (I know, cant see the varnish that well)

Thanks, i am very happy with them. Cant wait to get through 4 tactical squads so i can see a full battlefield colour scheme.

As an ork player though, you would have though id give green a miss :)

As for orange eyescrossed, you wont have much to loose :) the nice thing about this is that the paints arent heavy and thick and could be easily painted over without issue.

Those 3 models were already painted (badly) when i re-undercoated them, silver and washed them.

Shrike, that gun in the quote is an inferno cannon, not a heavy flamer. But I would go with Shrike's suggestion of heavy flamer and plasma cannon.

I've seen it used as a heavy flamer therefore i say its a heavy flamer.

Even though it's mentioned as an Inferno Cannon in at least 3 places?

Also, where did you see it used as a Heavy Flamer.

EDIT: And it's a bit too big to be a Heavy Flamer.
