It is an old slug beast of nurgle that i have converted up http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02644.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02645.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02646.jpg My Demon prince with wings http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02648.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02649.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02650.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02651.jpg This is my Soul Grinder converted up from a defiler and warhammer giant. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02654.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02655.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02656.jpg This is my Epidimius and a close up of his banner. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02659.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02660.jpg This my only finished Beast of Nurgle http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02643.jpg http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i317/tylerrox6688/DSC02657.jpg And these are a finished and WIP Plaguebearer There are alot more Plaguebearers and some nurglings to, but i thought this got the point across. The painting on the demon's skin come across as a little flat in these sometimes, it is better looking in real life. Right now im working on more bearers, beasts and then maybe a forge world GUO, after that im done with 1,500 pts and its on to my Death Guard. ==Me==
:P Those are wonderful, excellent job ;) What are the DP's wings from? Looks like Carrion, but I'm not too sure. nurgling6688
Yea they are carrion wings, just glued em on and filled in the gaps. The DP is the most recent, i took a 2 year break from painting and just started up again this past summer, so i have been regaining my skills slowly. I wish i could go back and repaint the other demons with the techniques and tricks (and the new washes, love them.) that i know now, but eh. They are good enough. mortiferum
A very nicely painted / converted army you have there! Would love to know how you painted the flesh (grey) and armour parts (green) of the Daemon Prince - colours really compliment each other well! nurgling6688
Thank you! The green is a basecoat of catachan green, followed by layering a mix of camo and catachan. This is then given a pure highlight of camo which is then progressively highlighted up with rotting flesh. Then i give all of this a ogryn flesh wash and a final highlight of pure rotting flesh. The flesh is a basecoat mix of a rotting flesh/liche purple/catachan green mix. I forget the ratio, i mixed up a pot of this when i started the army. this is then given a dry brush of rotting flesh plus that mix and then washed in patches with leviathan purple and thraka green, make sure to leave some patches of the basecoat. This is then re-layered with a rotting flesh/basecoat mix and then highlighted up to pure rotting flesh. This is then higlighted up with skull white/rotting flesh in the most prominent places. Hope that helps, sorry i dont have ratios, i just eyeball it. I'm thinking of getting him. Also, if it's no trouble, could you post a pic of him next to, say, a space marine for size comparison? Captain Malachi
Impressive work, though I feel the flesh tones could use a little more defining, maybe it's just me though. Edit- A brown wash might do the trick. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154028-nurgle-demon-army/#findComment-1861837 Share on other sites
djkest
For the Nurgle Ogryns are you going to use them to represent footslogging nurgle DPs? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/154028-nurgle-demon-army/#findComment-1864350 Share on other sites
nurgling6688
(Captain Malachi)- The skin has much more depth in real life. The light i was using for the pics just washed it out because the skin tone is so light. They are more of a green and purple tone to them, so a brown wash would probably dull that down to much and take the focus of colors in a more, well brown direction. (djkest) - No, im gonna use them as Beast of Nurgle in my Demon army and evantaully i am going to make a Traitor guard army, at which point they will become actual ogryns, ill probably add more to the unit then too.
