Hey so i finally finished my FW GUO, nice model, takes awhile to paint though. The pics colors are a bit weird, his tongue is much more purple in real life, there is also more variation in his skin, o well. Well let me know what you think...

And this last one is a scale comparison to a Necron Lord, just incase any one was wondering how big he is.

Also finished all of my Plague Ogryns, ill put them up sometime soon. All i have left for them is 7 more bearers and one beast. Ill put up army shots after im done.

On a side note, been thinking about sculpting some giant nurgley flies to act as Furies, good idea? bad? lemme know, thanks

Not a big fan of Nurgle, but wow, I really like how your army looks!!! I love how the GUO's contrast pops, and the layer under the skin and puss looks so... convincing. And his guts are all moist still!

Its a shame the camera didn't pick up your skin variations, I'm sure it looks simply amazing irl!

Nice work :P

Thanks everyone. I have to say i love the new washes. They are what give me alot of the colors in the...moister areas. Lots of layers of washes then highlights again. I just added up my point and i only come up to 1586 maxed out. Which is sort of disappointing. So im thinking a second demon prince (probably the FW one) and a unit of 14 furies which are going to be scratch made to look like giant flies. I am trying to think of a good nurgle equivalent of Bloodcrushers so i can include them, any idea? All i can think of is chariots

Dude, your GUO is amazing, I literally got nauseous just looking at it. It looks so sickening and vile and ... realistic in a way. You really have an eye for color, my friend. I wish I had 1/2 your painting skills.

Thanks everyone. I just finished 4 more plaguebearers, all i have left is 3 more foot sloggers and a beast. After its all done i will post up some army shots. I am registered for the Parade of Armies thing for games day Chicago if you know what that it so I will have to make a scenic display base for the whole army at some point. Ill post that up as well while im building it. One FW releases the Blight Drones expect to see 2 of those up here with their new nurgle DP as well.

Ahem, forgive me for something slightly unrelated.

What is the Blight Drone? I saw their model, but at the same time, I have no idea where they were mentioned in any rule book.

As for scenic army display, I agree that a swamp is a very fitting place and is much simpler than a nurgle-jungle/garden. I suggest you take a look at using a piece of wooden board and build up on it using scenic rocks from aquariums and sculpting clay as the base terrain. For the watery parts, I'd paint in a dark green bottom with pebbles/corpses/cadavers and the cover it up with coloured acrylic and them paint over to give it a distinct water-like specularity. After that's done, do whatever it is you did on that GUO's base to populate the swampland with random toxic fungi and even throwing little individual nurglings.

Best of luck

Most Forge World models don't have rules in standard 40k books - you need to buy Imperial Armour and the like.

I pretty much sculpted the head/neck and intestines from scratch as well as his little insect legs. The wings are made from plasticard. Lemme know what you think.

Really sweet, you plan on including more alien-like monsters as plague bearers? (For a change of pace since all things that die from nurgles rot beomes a plageubearer).
