I will post up the progress asap when i get back on wednesday it will include: Armour detailing - His legs have been started, and the little green stuff swirls have been added to the shoulder pads and power fist. Sword modelling - The hilt now has gems on it. His hand cannon - Erm, storm bolter, is what i meant....yeah. Also, instaed of a backpack, i was thinking of putting one of: http://www.coolminiornot.com/store/product.php?xProd=2489 These on him with an Aquila on it, with the fist icon in the middle instead of the Eagles Body. Only crit (I can't tell if its the pics or the model itself) is that it sometimes seems as if he is leaning to one side too much, about to fall slightly. BrotherZaah Posted April 3, 2009 Author Share Posted April 3, 2009 the arms are only blue tacced in place so people can see what im aiming for, so they do have large gaps that'll be smaller on the real thing and puttied into flexi joints. As for the chainsword, that one of the weapons he uses, not the only one, its the only one (that I know of) that he's been pictured with, but thats because (IMO) John Blanche is :cusse. He had a powersword when he found the Emperor dying, Which he promptly snapped over his knee. (Codex:Black Templars) So im going with that angle. Also a chainsword seems about as primarch-esque as giving them a little combat blade attachment under their gun. Now consider the size of the Primarch and imagine the effect a chainsword could have in his hands, especially if future books teach us it was a present of Manus or the Emperor (considering its look, it might as been been Fulgrim's present on second though)... Remember the weapon Mortarion uses for example ? Basically, for as long as Primarchs do not cross the way of other of their kind or equivalent, they could as well use Emperor's dulled toothpicks with similar effects than anything else. Im not a huge BT buff but id assumed he wore black at the Siege of Terra? In any case it would look good but the rest should probably be yellow for people who do not know a heap about the IF it would act as an indicator. The emperors chosen Posted May 30, 2009 Share Posted May 30, 2009 I like Dorn,originally I had thought that the head would be to small, but here it looks fine. for the honour guard, i'd suggest if possible, to use the imperial fist conversion pack, as it has 10 fist symbols(I think), and maybe cut down the banner a bit, as it almost covers the model. BrotherZaah Posted May 31, 2009 Author Share Posted May 31, 2009 Yeah im torn on the banner - on one hand i want it to be big, it's got to be seen by a lot of space marine on the battlefield and it allows me to paint some awesome stuff, but on the other hand the standard bearer is in one of the coolest poses i've made and i dont want him to be missed. I was thinking of a picture of Terra amid a back drop of stars with a golden Aquila over it but the body of the aquila is an imperial fist symbol. It would symbolise many things: The imperiums dominanace over Terra and the stars, The Fists Terran heritage, the fists watching over Terra and the imperium.
