Thanks everyone!

as for the Sorcerer I chopped him up shortly after I Posted painted pics of him.. the paint job was really sub-par IMO..

Ok after screwing up a Mold I did of a few converted heads and Practicing different gold recipes over and over Ive decided just to jump in and start converting and painting each one.. there are only 27 Marines in the lot and besides giving each one a little individual character will help the over all look ((I hope))

So heres the first One.. I think I have a good grasp of the over all feel now..

I start converting 2-3 at a time now..

this army is coming along nicely. i really like the blue -> purple transition. i must admit that i am not entirely sure about the plain metal backpack. i feel that it takes away from the awesome blend on the model itself. have you tried a purple backpack?

Thousand Sons are a much brighter blue than Ultramarines (Enchanted Blue vs Ultramarines Blue) and their gold is more yellowish (Burnished Gold rather than Shining Gold).

Night Lords are Regal Blue and more of a copper trim.

All three armies use the same basic scheme but different enough to be fairly recognizable even if painted on a basic Marine.

gee thanks..

Anyhow..

@wokkers: Thanks for the Constructive criticisms! I was trying to keep the Packs separate But I understand what your saying.. If I continued the fade the packs would end up Pink.. Ill play around with it and see what i come up with.

@Sons of Horus: I used a wet pallet((tupper-ware container with a damp paper towel in it)) I started with Liche purple, then lightly added enchanted blue, then added ultra marines blue.. then i highlighted my blues with ice blue and my purple with tentacle pink..

Working on Tzeentch Marine #2

He still needs some touch up/gun/pack/base... But I wanted to show you the left to right fade..

Im still set on Back to front fades for the whole of my force but I think a few of these will really make my army pop..

C&C is always welcome!

 that side to side looks realy good and a combo of both side-side and front-back fade would IMHO make the army realy stand out and original.Cant wait to see more of you conversions and finished stuff.

Changng the fade direction might be a nice way to mark squads.

Squad 1 - Front to back

Squad 2 - Blue left to purple right

Squad 3 - Purple left to blue right

Squad 4 - Blue top to purple bottom

Squad 5 - Purple top to blue bottom

Well.... long time no see.. Ive been yelled at for not working on this project.

I took a break from this to play with NMM because I really didnt like how the golds were turning out.. Ive also figured out one or two tricks as well..

not perfect Yet.. But all in all its getting closer..

((I still need highlights on the gold in the back, but I'm still working on darker transitions for that..))

Anyhow.. Tell me what you think.

Can you explain the process you used?

For the gold? Sure..

Its all pretty simple just a brush and wet pallet(IE: rubbermaid container lined with a paper towel, just add water)

First Vermin Brown, shade with Ogryn flesh, highlight with snakebite leather, then with 50/50 snakebite leather & golden yellow, then Bubonic Brown, Then 50/50 Bubonic Brown and Skull white, and a few spots I hit the very edge with skull white.

If you don't mind I'm going to steal your blend

No need to ask... Just Steal Away!

I really like this new paint scheme better. Vast improvement. This army if completed should look pretty rad. Reminds me of marines that could be Merlins personal guards, which is a good direction IMO. :)

These blue shfting to purple guys are some of the most beautiful regular marines I've seen here. Great work!

I wish I had any idea of how NMM works, will have to find myself a tutorial.
