Brother Sgt. Steine
Enjoy looking at these models. Well done Brother... You've got a crisp/ clean painting style. Really like the helmeted BA Executioner. A bit heavy on the metallic paints for my taste, but still these are looking GOOD GREAT! Unknown Chronicler
How did you achieve the blue and gold for Asterion Moloc? It is just beautiful and something I want to use for my army, anyway you can give me the recipe for them? It is just beautiful and something I want to use for my army, anyway you can give me the recipe for them? Hey ColdWinter, The recipe for Moloc is the same blue and gold as stated earlier in this thread :-) If you have access to the 'Eavy Metal Masterclass book, it follows the colours of Captain Sicarius in exact detail. Vadskær
Good evening Guys, On the eve of a career change I thought I'd better present my latest work - and probably the last in some time, as I'll be swamped with doing a full time study (physical therapy) and working on the side. Some of you may remember this fellow when he was just bare plastic - posted him after the new Deathwing came out almost a year ago. Well, I'm proud to present my Deathwing Knight in all his glory! A blast to paint, but dear God that shield and cloak covers a lot of nice details :-D The head is from the Grey Knight terminator box, since I wanted something more knightly than the regular helmets in the DW kit! Enjoy! /vadskær http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4410_zpsd3b6330e.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4415_zpsd7fa4f8e.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4419_zpsf4670e4e.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4426_zps28eaff1b.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4432_zpsd5781f01.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4435_zpsfe3d32a7.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/29/#findComment-3584873 Share on other sites

Quixus
Now that is one proper Knight. The GK helmet really adds some knightly feel to the model. Much better than the hoods or the normal helmets. Hyaenidae
......Damn. The red helm stripe, and the green tips on the feathers, prove that the little details are what set off a mini. Vadskær
Hello all, Thanks for looking in and thanks for your kind comments on my latest and past work. Time flies by, but even though I haven't been showing you new stuff, I haven't been idle! I've painted a Dark Eldar Scourge and have been working furiously on my Imperial Knight. But, first off, just to get things going again, here's my latest work, finished just this afternoon: Blood Angels Sternguard Veteran I tried to keep him true to the BA colors of a black chest-emblem and some chapter specific parts from that Sanguiniary box mixed in with the new Sternguard kit. Hope you enjoy him - he was a blast to paint! Cheers, Vadskær http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4773_zps51cf82b7.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4801_zpsf8921a91.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4780_zps348882eb.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4782_zpscf28d912.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4790_zps65c20f4e.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4797_zps34bf39f2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/29/#findComment-3690030 Share on other sites

Vadskær
Thanks Guys - glad you like him! Although, I must confess I like to paint the blue Marines (ThoseWhoShallNotBeNamed), but that's more for the aesthetic look and how a lot of colors really compliment the blue tone really well. The "secret" for the red armor isn't that complicated. I undercoat the model black, then paint on a couple of thin layers of Khorne Red, followed by a couple of thin layers of the old Mecrite Red. After that I do a 1:1: mix of Red Gore and Blood Red, which is the color of the armor, and apply it in a couple of thin coats. Shade it with a blue wash, and highlight it with reds and oranges up to Elf Flesh for the finest points and you're there :-) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/29/#findComment-3690301 Share on other sites

Well done! Snorri Hey Snorri, Glad you stopped by! I've got something spectacular to show you and the others tomorrow ;-) I consulted the Codex regarding the black chest emblem - although it also states golden helmets, I thought that I'd just do the top part gold and keep the rest red :-) /vadskær Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/29/#findComment-3690387 Share on other sites

Vadskær
Hey Chaps! Yay, it's Saturday - favorite day of the week! PLUS, I get to show you my just finished Imperial Knight :-D It was quite a project to undertake, and whilst I've painted a Vendetta before, this was the most elaborate of the "big models" I've tackled so far. A real pleasure to paint - I split it up into numerous sub-productions, so I could more quickly finish some parts, and then move on the the others. I started working on it the day it was released and finished it just now - so it took quite some time. There are only a few modifications aside from the original kit: I added a muzzle to the battle cannon barrel, taken from a standard Leman Russ tank, since I think the barrel just looks unfinished and too short without it. Also, I placed a couple of antennas on the top of the carapace armor and liberally used transfers from the Baneblade/Shadowsword kit. I decided not to paint on battle damage - I would much rather have a nice, clean look for this massive model. I hope you like him as much as I do :-) /vadskær http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4805_zps1fc9231a.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4809_zpsb672d561.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4812_zpsa653578b.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4821_zps3ae057c9.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4824_zps965175ab.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4830_zps7d251250.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4838_zps09a5440e.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4846_zps92dd5d5f.jpg http://i1058.photobucket.com/albums/t410/vadskaer/IMG_4859_zpsd0c46ee2.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/164659-vadsk%C3%A6rs-marines/page/29/#findComment-3691033 Share on other sites
