Sersi
Okay, here we go... Alright six months ago I started researching, sketching, sculpting and acquiring models for a Slaaneshi daemon army. Got off to a good start and then got side tracked by the siren song of a all true-scale Black Templar army, more on that later... Anyway, here we go again. Now the goal here is to create a playable tournament army, that both unique and characterful. So, will be no stock GW models, everything will be getting some sort of conversion. These conversion with be heavily influenced by "Slaves to Darkness" and Liber Chaotica". While, I'm not going for perversion, there will be some naughty bits, we are talking Slaanesh after all. Hopefully you all can help me stay motivated. All comments and critiques are most welcome. Since in Codex Daemons pretty much forces you to use a mixed gods list. I'm using "count as" to keep things Slaaneshi. Here's what I have planned so far: HQ: 1 Keeper of Secrets (Forgeworld) 2 Heralds (sculpted mini Keepers = counts as Heralds in chariots) Elites: 12 Pleasureseekers (converted plastic daemonettes mounted on winged steeds of Slaanesh) = counts as Fiends 12 Wyrms (winged snakes w/ steeds of Slaanesh style heads) = counts as Flamers 12 Gluttons (converted ogre bulls = counts as Blood Crushers) Troops: 40 Daemonettes (6th edition - metal daemonettes) 60 Daemonettes (plastic daemonettes w/ reposing and weapon swaps) 12 Slayers (plastic daemonettes converted to running poses w/ custom bliss giver swords) = counts as Bloodletters 24 Tormentors (converted grave ghouls is B/SM gear) = Plaguebearers 24 Gorgons (plastic daemonettes tentacle hair, and blazing eyes) = Horrors 1 Changeling (a plastic daemonette in a commissar cap, jacket, and bolt pistol) 12 Imp bases (custom sculpted, evil munchkins) Fast: 10 Seekers (mounted daemonettes - metal) 26 Seekers (converted plastic daemonettes on sculpted mounts) 12 Furies (converted plastic daemonettes w/ feathered wings) Heavy: 3 Daemon Princess (custom sculpts) 3 Slaaneshi Soul Grinders (custom sculpts) Anyway photos to follow... Sersi
So, lets start out with my Daemon Princess Sculpt, this is pretty rough as it still needs sanding and buffing. I've designed her to be modular so that I can make all 3 Princess models from same basic body once she's cast in resin. After which I cut up, modify the poses, detail them. Their are four different arms, three separate heads, and two different sets of wings; so lots of variation. Here some early shots: I plan on having three of these bad girls...boys...its? The goal is to have field up to 5 monstrous creatures in case I want to run a Demonzilla list. That and is just cool to see so many big guys on table top. Sersi
Okay more current pics of the princess in turn-around: Yeah she's looking a little stiff at the moment but that will be rectified once I get her cast up. Sersi
Here's a couple more scales shots of the the DP and some other units. Scaled with the FW Keeper: Scaled with a true-scale Marine? :D Daemonic superiority: Scaled with some of my other army units: Now this one will be the base model for all three, but don't worry once I cast her, I'll be converting the others. I'll post some sketches later, as I'd like input on them. I need Input on: - armor - tails (yes/no) - horns - naughty bits? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165546-slaaneshi-themed-daemon-army/#findComment-1948203 Share on other sites
The_Chaplain
armor-- i think an elaborate codpiece (read: metal bikini) and top would still give an air of raw sexuality to this keeper, but cover up any "naughty bits" that would get you into trouble at a local game store. - tails/horns if done right, yeah. - naughty bits? remember that you're going to play with this model where children will most likely be present, keep it clean in my opinion any idea for how you are going to do the face on this lovely keeper? I for one think you could do tendril like hair, but give it the texture of S&M whips Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165546-slaaneshi-themed-daemon-army/#findComment-1948244 Share on other sites
Sersi
The_Chaplain: Thanks for the reply and your input. I wasn't seriously considering 'naughty' bit, I definitly won't be doing anything graphic. I'm not sure about the the tendril like hair, because the FW keeper has tentacle hair already, and I want to differentiate the Daemon Princesses from the KOS. I'll post up some sketch of my ideas regarding the tail, horns, and heads. Keep the comments coming, Thanks! Sersi
Pleasureseekers: Since I've already repositioned a few plastic 'nettes to serve a seekers, I thought I'd see how they look mounted on a Steed of Slaanesh. These will be counting as fiends in the army. I've been told that these are best taken in larger numbers so I want at least 12. The riders will be armed with the Slaaneshi Champions spear/lance thingy. The mounts will be fitted with modeling chain bridles and reigns. No saddles though as these girls ride'em bare back. The shields from the Champions will be going to my "Slayers" which will be up-scaled plastic daemonettes counting as bloodletters. I figure I have to represent their T4 somehow. Say anybody need 12 odd Slaanesh Champions, sans weapons and mounts? Falhurk
Hmm, I think what you've created so far is wonderful and I quite like the crablike arm thing (articulate aren't I?). As far as the "naughty bit" discussion I think that you should consider it. I'm not saying to have her in a pornographic pose but there are two things that irk me about the argument. The first of which is that the whole "demon" theme isn't exactly kid-friendly. The second of which is that a naked woman should pale in comparison to hacking peoples limbs off in offering to 'the blood god'. At least as far as vulgarity goes. I love the hobby, the lore and the models. I think that your model should reflect what you want to represent, especially if you're putting the work into it. On the other hand, I'm probably not the most "PC" person out there. In either case. Outstanding work and I'll be watching closely. Sersi
Okay progress! I finished the wings last night, so here ya go. Here's the styrene base: Now with green stuff and Procreate feathers. Sersi
Okay here are a few of my Gluttons IE. count as plague bearers: I actually have 12 of these converted now, but I flubbed the pics of the others. :P Anyway what I did here was take a basic Ogre model and cut off the legs at the crotch, and sculpted new bare legs, while adding some additional height to make them more imposing compared to all those trues-caled marines running around these days. ;) I also filled in and sculpted a bare belly, as well and carving in a butt crack. :) So sculpted these two basic models so I could make casts of the bodies. As you can see the arms looked stumpy, so I later cut through the biceps and extended them with some copper wire and good old Aves Sculpt. The head are simply modded and not casts. Basically I shaved off the stone earrings, and ugly hair, beards, etc; and sculpted on some spiky bits and horns. The cast were later cut up and pined in more dynamic poses. bobte11th5
Gasps, a squad of sumo wrestlers. the demon princess looks amazing, i agree with the chaplin, possibley a redy-pink metal bikini thing with v pale skin. as for horns, i dont think you should go over the top with them, if you do they should be subtle, as IMO big horns = khorne, whereas slaneesh strikes me as more subtle and seductive. Also a read somewhere, WD maybe, that demonettes keep victims enraptured when killing them, and a big gribbly thing with hornds and tendriles wouldnt do that, itd just make them freezewith fright. just my 2 cents itd look good either way Bob Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165546-slaaneshi-themed-daemon-army/#findComment-1949808 Share on other sites
TGW
I really like the look of the army so far. What is that grey stuff that you are using to sculpt your princesses with? Berzerker Pezz
It kind of looks like Apoxie Sculpt or Apoxie Clay but I could be wrong. Light's throwing me off, and in the first pic it looks gray enough to be Pro-Create or something. Sersi
Falhurk: I don't plan on doing anything overtly pornographic, defintely no engorged members or the like. Ick... but I'm not opposed to a exposed breast or mild S&M. Hendrik: Thanks. NemFX: Thanks you for your interest man. Terminatorinhell: I'll be starting on my slayer sculpts this weekend, they'll be a head taller than the regular daemonettes though. No, plans of selling any daemonettes sculpts, but I have considered selling a few casts of a generic version of the Daemon princess, that way a modeler could easily to repose and convert it however you like. Brother Mayhem: Thank you. Bobte11th5: I won't make the femine daemons to gribbly, I really hate how "spiky bits" are the default representation for chaos. But my daemonic engines/soulgrinders will be gribbly and very tentacaly...is that even a word? Anyway I have some concept drawings based of Liber Chaotic that I'll be posting up soon. TGW: Aves Sculpt and Procreate putty. I highly recomend both. Add a little gray oil paint, which I unfortunately was unaware of at the time and you can get a uniform grey color. Berzerker Pezz: Good eye! She's a mix of Aves Sculpt and Procreate putty. Although now that I've gotten used to it I'll probably just be using Aves Fixit from now on, it holds detail incredible well. Sersi
Armor Concepts for the Daemon Princesses: Okay, I spent some time yesterday trying to figure out what sort of armor would look best. While I don't want them to be completely covered up, I do want to plausibly represent the "Iron Hide" upgrade. These are heavily influenced by "Liber Chaotic" by the way. Let me know what you all think! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165546-slaaneshi-themed-daemon-army/#findComment-1950160 Share on other sites
Berzerker Pezz
Diggin the armor designs, I can definitely see the Liber Chaotica influence. Wish I was brave enough to sculpt a whole piece; Actually I want to. It's making a proper armature that I have so much trouble with, especially if I need to hack it up to make a mold :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165546-slaaneshi-themed-daemon-army/#findComment-1950187 Share on other sites

Brother Gothard
I want to vote for #3, with the shoulder piece from #1. #3 has a more sensual look to it than the others, and with the shoulder armour would be perfect. I think you want to go for fashion over function with the armour. It looks beautiful by the way. I thought at first that the breasts are a bit OVER stated. But looking back they do not look comically large, but more .. its hard to say, but I want to say .. disturbingly large? They look in proportion but also .. daemonic in a way, very naturally unnatural. Its just perfect, I think. Sersi
Yet more Daemons! This guy will serve as a second Keeper or "Count as Skarbrand". In either case he shall be based on this: Early Stages: I'm using the hoofed feet from the from the WF giant. Why? Because I had them lying around and they suit the model. Here is the armature scaled against my Daemon Princess. He's looking a little small so I'll be cutting and extending the legs to get some additional height. The FW keeper is 6 1/2 inches tall so I'll probably shoot for 8 inches on this. If I can get the time I may even to a 10-12 inch tall "counts as Zarkyel" model for apocalypse based on this: Comments and critiques as usual are greatly appreciated. Let me know what you think! I'll answering all replies shortly... ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/165546-slaaneshi-themed-daemon-army/#findComment-1950478 Share on other sites
