So, I finally cast up all the wings that I need for my conversions, and got most of my Fury unit converted up, 8 down 4 more to go. I may still change up the poses a little and reposition the wings on a few of them.

Various cast wings:

Okay time for a status check:

I'm currently working on 6 Pleasureseekers (count as Fiends). The mounts are done. I just have to deside whether or not to equip them with pegasus wings, they do have "hit and run" after all. I holding off on the fiddley work of chopping and glueing the rider for now.

If anyone has some good pose ideas for the third princess, please post up some pics of sketchs as I'm tapped out on ideas. I'll take stick figures even. I also want to repose the male KOS to something less static. So If you have any ideas let me have them. ^_^

More to follow!

I cant draw for ya at the moment, as Im without a tablet-- but here is a pic for inspiration.

http://www.coolminiornot.com/store/shopimages/fut001_1.jpg

I think if you put a sword or a lash where the gun is, and angled the foot down (to about land raider door height) it would give "her" <you can never tell with slaanesh> a menacing martial arts like feel.

after all, martial arts is considered to be an art in many cultures with its beauty in movement-- I think that would suit slaanesh well. Plus a demon kicking a tank is a fantastic image LOL

looks absolutely amazing so far. i cant wait to see more. also, i second the chaplain's idea about the pleasureseekers. a group of those running around all martial-arts kicking tank doors in would be crazy cool.

wow absolutely stunning

one thing though for the big ones you scultpted yourself (deamon prince stand ins?) make sure you base them well as they dont look like they are standing on the ground at the moment (especially the lunging one)

im not sure why it looks like this maybe their feet are slightly rounded? but whatever just look ever so slightly dodgy at the moment

Daemon Princess Updates:

I've got the second daemon princess' weapon figured out. The spear point is from the Dark Elf Range in fantasy, the Slaanesh symbol on the ended is a daemonette icon with the skull drilled out, The rope is twisted 26 gauge brass wire. the banner was cut from a heavy metal foil taken from tea-light candles.

You can find them at Walmart in the candle section.

The wings are pinned on (i may or may not switch to magnets); but will be removable in case I'm low on point and run them without wings.

I really like this pose and may create new molds in case I decide to a few.

Here are some status pictures on my pleasureseekers {count as fiends):

I decided to mount Pegasus wings on them. I justify them with the fact that they have hit and run, and that the wings fit the theme I seem to have going. I'm currently working on the riders, who will be equipped with dark elf lances, and shields based of the . the mounts will sport bridles fashioned out of modeling chain.

I also did a little work on the Count as Skarbad model. I cut the legs to make him a bit taller, and to reposition the pose:

Wow, Sersi you are relentless, fantastic work. I used to do lost wax casting in my youth and only dreamed of being able to sculpt the way you do. I gave up the art world and now only paint minis and do modest conversions at best.

I hope you can paint worth a damn, I wouldn't like to see this army looking crap, LMFHO :wallbash:

Eagerly awaiting future posts

The_chaplain: Thanks for the input. I'm still considering the idea, but I think it might work better of the smaller "Slayer" models.

Arbogast: Thanks.

Wiplash: I figured out how I want to do for the bases, so I'll definiely keep your observations in mind.

DuskRaider: I will definitely be selling the princes in the near future, I just have a bit more work to do on her: armor, alternate heads, alternate arms, and weapons. If I'm going to this I want to do it right, with good quality, value, and a decent price. That still a ways off though.

NemFX: Sure thing buddy if you have any armor ideas I'd love to see them, I really have got a clue on how I want to equip the Big Boy. So, please pot up your ideas.

Stobz: I pretty handy with an air brush I do a lot of larger garage kit models 6-18" tall mostly. But I've researching painting at this scale, and practicing. But heck, I still need to come up with some sort of paint scheme first. But I am open to ideas...

Okay, Ive got some ideas that i need to feedback on:

Bases:

I decided some post back to go with a basing theme centered around the fall of the Eldar. I'm thinking of doing something based on this image:

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2009/5/12/32487_md-.jpg

Since I think that having dead Eldar lying around would be tacky, how about some topple and shattered Eldar statures and spires? Maybe some thing similar to this:

http://images.dakkadakka.com/gallery/2009/5/12/32493_md-.jpg

I'd use actual Eldar runic script of course. I could sculpt the statues cast them in plaster and then break them up. Or just buy some bit and paint them like marble. It could look kind of like ancient ruins of a Craftworld, still echoing with the horrors of the "Fall".

Poses:

I am still trying to decide on poses for the daemon other two daemon princesses, so i dug into my anime garage kit sites for these:

http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq3/Fifth_miracle/5-12-2009/1850_530_530.jpg

http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq3/Fifth_miracle/5-12-2009/2195_530_530.jpg

http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq3/Fifth_miracle/5-12-2009/2232_530_530.jpg

http://i428.photobucket.com/albums/qq3/Fifth_miracle/5-12-2009/1914_530_530.jpg

Soulgrinders:

After much thought I've decided to just scratch-build and sculpt these. For what I want to do with them there is no real point in modifying a existing model. I'd be making so many changes that it would waste time rather than save it. If someone could provide rough figures on the lengtha and width of the mechanical body, that would be most helpful.

Seekers:

I've been waiting for more resin to come in from smooth-on. If should arrive today so you can expect ridiculous amounts of seeker to be posted up.

Later!

Your work is absolutely amazing! Truly inspiring. I can't wait to show this thread to my girlfriend tomorrow, as she plays a Daemonettes army.

It could look kind of like ancient ruins of a Craftworld, still echoing with the horrors of the "Fall".

I believe that the craftworlds weren't formed until after the fall, as a place of refuge for the fleeing Eldar who didn't fall. I could be mistaken though.

if done right, the pose with the crouching purple haired warrior with the naginata would be quite a sight to behold: it has the formidable strength behind the pose, as well as the elegance.

cant wait for another update.

Drudge Dreadnought:

I am so man-crushing on you right now! :P That is just what I've been looking for. And that is a damn fine looking space marine there. Hmmm...true-scale EC...so, tempting.

The_chaplain:

I like that one allot to so that will be my project tonight among others... Aw heck I got new resin in today I may due a couple more just for fun...I could always sell them later I suppose.

Dogfender:

I use a heavily modified paint pot. I bought mine here. At the time though they were selling overstock for $39.00. You can find paint pots cheap on e-bay, but I strongly recommend that you DO NOT buy a used pressure pot. Pressurized is nothing to mess around with, and a improperly maintained and inspected pot can explode leaving you or a loved one dead or maimed. Seriously, if you want to do this type of casting, spend the cash and get a good ie new pot.

The modifications you need are pretty simple, and can be done for about $20 bucks. I'll post up some info on how and why I modified my pots later though, to dish on the details.

Whiplash:

Thanks, I'm trying to crank this up a notch or two and get it done. I want to being slapping on paint by June at the latest. Hey I can dream right. Anyway back to work!
