Pre-Heresy Stormbird Troop transport

Recommended Posts

Rustled up a a cheap rhino I bagged on ebay. Decided to keep this one a lot cleaner than the rest of the Crimson Ultra stuff as it's just about to be dropped and hasnt been involved in any combat as yet. Besides the Stormbird crew kept complaining about mud in their sandwiches, luckily a bunch of Eldar had just opened a 'hand tank wash' down the road and sergeant Samuel was able to nip down there before loading up :D

I was originally going to stick a drogue chute on this but I think 4 dispensible boosters (made from jet packs) might look more the part, probably put the rhino at an angle in the air with the boosters on different burn to compensate for the wobble. oops there I go again, imagination skipping....

Base is ongoing paul, probably end up with a few Orks and marines doing the chainsaw tango ;D

I would love to see that but a Rhino couldn't do it. It'll just tip.

Also this is that gunship i told you i did. Scarily similar eh?

The flying Rhinos dispaly team is here!

All done, Stormbird in the shop an finally out of my way. Looks quite cool in the context of a pitched battle

Lots of pictures over at Stormbird and the flying rhinos (that's not some sort of motown group)

Few tasters below, thanks for all the input on this one. Another project removed the 'tick when done list' what next?!

Good point Gumbafish the answer to both would be NO!

I guess some discussions are required although in all honesty the shop is really just an extension of my display, I simply wouldn't be able to continue making stuff if I didnt have anywhere to put it!

I think the worst part would be to have someone break something X-O There doesn't seem to be anything protecting them (besides the window)

Great flying Rhino!

Just found this thread through a more recent Stormbird discussion.

Dear Lord in Heaven...................this is proably the best work I've ever seen.

Looking at the Crimson Ultraswings army pics, amazing. The conversions, the painting, the humour in the figures.

The man deserves more than just 2 pages in WD. He deserves a display stand at GDUK. Where is he based?

Bulldog,

As usual I'm very impressed by your ability. I'm also VERY jealous of it as well! The way in which your keen mind is able to invision a project, then execute it flawlessly is incredible. You're an amazing fabricator of models, and a inspiration to achieve a higher level of modelling perfection! It would come as a big surprise to me that you didin't do this type of work on a professional level!!! By all means keep up the great work. Always looking foward to seeing your work.

This storm-bringer art is directly based off the drop-ship from Aliens, google it and take a look.

I love what you did with it though, it looks fantastic! I think you not only did it justice, you made it your own, just amazing stuff.

Good job!

It sucks...

at being anything other than completely awesome! I can't imagine the time it took to do all this, nor fathom your skill to pull it off so dynamically and in the midst of the action... Brilliant sir, on all fronts.
