Dark Angels StrikeForce

Everything is deliciously painted.

What is your recipe for the green? I've thought about collecting some Dark Angels over the years but most of the painting examples I've seen I've not liked the green. I think the key is the strong edged highlight and they lighter "banding" highlights until the hard edged highlight.

bevulf: Ha ha, shows how closely I looked at my DV Chaplain (still in the box)! I hadn't noticed the detail sculpted on the robes. Either way you picked it out very cleanly considering the scale of it on the mini.

What are you painting next from the box?

I am more than happy to read that you like my work.

@ Lord Ragnarok - I paint my green using old dark angels green highlighted with scorpion green in two-three steps. for edges I use mix of scorpion/skull white - to deepen all colours I wash armour with thraka green/badab black mix...

Librarian Turmiel is done :D :

Company Master Orias is on the way too ;)

Ha ! Thank you shabbadoo - this is one of the best comparisons between the good and the bad :(

As promised painted Orias:

This is an amazing conclusion to your DV trio! Balthazar, erm, sorry, Orias is my least favorite sculpt of the three but your painting really gave it some serious boost! It appears that purple is the standard complementary color for DAs. Love it!

Now is it the time for the Termies?
