@ 1000heathens - yes it does, thanks mate.

@ Brother Cambrius - thanks again, I've updated the image in the gallery (is it correct? As 1000heathens mentioned a quarter black and white scheme?)

gallery_25512_4096_55444.jpg

BTW: Have ou also added the hospitallers, Sons of Jaghatai, Emperor's Shadows and the Emperor's Storm? they're the DIY chapters featured in "How to paint Space Marines"

Yes, no, yes, yes. You found another ;)

@1000heathens - These will be saved for the non-loyal chapters project.

Mini IA added for the Steel Hunters. more coming soon to a dataslate near you. ;)

Thank - link updated.

@ Polaria - nice work, it's a pity I can't include them just yet. The problem is the Oblators are an official chapter and that trumps DIY - at the moment a 'blank' is posted in the gallery for them. A few fans have made up DIY for blank chapters and I may work out a way to include these DIY chapters at a later date. Please leave it here, and I see if I can work it in one day (not right now, after we hit 1,000!).

Keep in mind the Oblators are an official GW Chapter (Chapter Approved, 2002 pg. 117) without a color scheme to date so not sure your version will appear in Phil's list.

Thanks Kurgan.

Wotcher!

I do hope you're still accepting Chapters because I'd love for my Defiant Sons to be added!

Here's the IA link: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=207520

And here's a pic made using the SM painter to go with it!

Cheers,

Od.

P.S. - just had a look at the DIY list to make sure my colours and name were clear - are the Doom riders and Death Riders different chapters? Because they both have exactly the same colour scheme. ;)

@ Kurgan the Lurker - no idea. I didn't find them on the Lex, and google didn't turn up much either?

@ Ryjak - Perhaps a variant of the Blood Angels curse where they sprout wings? Perhaps after drinking mind altering (vision enhancing) drugs in an attempt to commune with their Primarch? :P

I've added your chatper - I'll keep updating this until at least 1,000.

Good spot. After a bit of investigating it seems the Doom Riders are earlier version of the Death Riders. The Doom Riders have been disappeared

At least that's what the =][= think...

Yep the symbol's correct with regards to the sons of Dorn, the black and yellow scheme oyu have is one of my creations, so that can be ditched. :)

PS: I see that the Steel Hunters are still MIA.

@ Brother Cambrius - do you have a link for the Sons of Dorn? (I found this blog and this post, and this one, and this too? I take it there is more than one 'Sons of Dorn'?)

The Steel Hunters have been updated to DIY + link (you may need to refresh your browser's cache)

This is a really cool project so far, it embraces the creativity of everyone.

That's the plan: to collect up the best DIY chapters from all over the web, not just on B+C, and link to them. A central database gallery of all the known DIY chapters! (and canon chapters).

Philip

@ Brother Cambrius - do you have a link for the Sons of Dorn? (I found this blog and this post, and <a href="http://"http://www.librarium-online.com/forums/space-marines/53367-sons-dorn-home-made-space-marine-chapter.html"" target="_blank">this one, and this too</a>? Well remarkably none of them are the one featured in the GW book. Which one would be given rights to the spot as a matter of fact?

Hmm, well I'm still getting MIA for it including after refreshing the page. Expect more form me soon though. :)

Cambrius

PS - Chalice Knights need to be deleted. They're now a traitor chapter called the Forsaken Warriors.

???

Hang on - are you looking at page 30 of the old gallery?

If so, I haven't updated that!

Your Steel Hunters have been updated in the new gallery - you'll find them on the top row of page 31 of the new gallery.

PS - Chalice Knights need to be deleted. They're now a traitor chapter called the Forsaken Warriors.

Thanks, I'll get my ninja suit... gone.

Philip

All the remaining official canon chapters which do not have a colour scheme have been updated with blanks (asterisks removed).

I'll sort out a way to show fan made colour schemes and IA for undeveloped official chapters at a later date.

Weren't the Yellow Jackets a GW Chapter after winning the first Create a Chapter contest in 94? They are in WD177.

Yes I remember them also, and confirmed with this link.

WD archive

Sadly I can't remember their colour scheme, but I have in the back of my mind it was something similar to the scythes of the emperor?

WD177 isn't split from UK or US -- that didn't happen till WD200. So I'm unsure as to why you have an ad in there.

Here is the page in my WD177

gallery_2_3709_461800.jpg

They were the first "Create a Chapter" winner. WDs leading up to that years Games Day talked about the winners Chapter becoming canon. They won the contest but then never appeared again in anything GW related.

All three of the chapters you linked to me aren't the one shown in the "How to Paint Space Marines" book, so I was wondering, which one would be used in your gallery as all of them are DIY chapters.

Ahaaa there's the problem! I've been following the link in your signature which took me to the old one. Problem solved!

The layout seems to be different in my copy; compared to the list here. For example the Blood Bowl article (Block and Tackle) starts on page 23 not 45. More telling is the fact that GD '94 hasn't happened yet in my WD177 so it must have been released earlier than yours (?)

I found this page, which seems to be the original winner entry. The colour scheme matches the one in the gallery and the link has been changed (the old link was to someone else, I think the competition winner, Jeff Durochia, should get the credit)

If a chapter appears in a GW publication it will have priority. I'll be looking into a way to link to fan versions of 'canon' chapters at a later date.

I've updated my sig ;)

PS: Edit:

It came with a poster (I notice the one on gamehobby doesn't have that). Below is the table on contents (you can't really see it in this image, but the Adverts listed include Games Day '94 multi-page spread starting on page 29.

I'm all for Jeff D. getting credit as it was his creation and there have been folks who have "taken credit" for it since. And I'm not talking similar name here but copying the color scheme and all that.

I'll always try to link to the original creator of a DIY chapter, or DIY chapter that has become canon. I think people should get credit for their hard work. If you notice any that are linked to an 'imposter' - please let me know?

I was wondering phil if we cant also have an alphabetised search option, meaning we have letters a-z along the top and if you clicked on B it would take you to the page where the B's began. As it is its taking me some time to scan through them all to find a certain chapter when I want to check if you already have it on, if you get my meaning.

Just expressing my interest in adding my chapter the Jagdmarines.

I am currently in the process of writing (and rewriting and rerewriting..) my IA article. On the plus side I am pretty happy with what I have done (the trick is working out what not to add as it is already very verbose). I hope to have the IA up within the week, give it another 2 weeks for edits based on comments and then I would be happy to submit it. I just wanted to express my interest now before you fill up (932 chapters so far nice going!) Unless Philip, you would prefer I submit my IA now? I can send you what I have done but its still a work in progress.

Here is a painter link to my Jagdmarine scheme.

I will update it with a chapter symbol when I do the IA.

I could probably do this with tags, but the tag cloud disappears when you click on a tag (really annoying).

We are going to end up with 40 pages in the current layout, and it may be an idea to make specific pages for each letter, and allow all the chapters beginning with a specific letter show up on one page. That would limit it to 26 pages - but they are 26 pages that have to be made.

@ Shadey - post a link when you have the IA and symbol. There is no need to hurry as a lot of the chapters in the list as MIA (Missing Index Astartes), and fleshed out DIY chapters will slowly replace them.

Chapters: 950!
