So let me get this straight, I all I have to do is write an IA screw around with the SM painter and my chapter will be somewhat official? Brothers Sempiternus inbound! I'll have to do it tomorrow due to it being 5 AM. Also, the white in the SM painters don't seem to do it justice hopefully I can get that figured out. You can delete this post if you'd like.

Ok as I have decided to not sleep tonight (I'm a good ole' fashion insomniac) here is a paint scheme of the Brothers Sempiternus. There should be a skull on the shoulder pad for the Chapter symbol, and as I am not one with the computers ways I am asking help putting it on there. While that happens IA it is! (Edit: forgot pic, maybe I do need sleep)

The chapter symbol is meant to be a maltese cross on each shoulder but i don't know how to get one on there...

Thank you!

EDIT: Almost forgot! Link to my painting blog!

Ok 4 1/2 hours, half a family size bag of Doritos, bowl of cereal, +/- 5 water bottles, and here I am IA in hand. I am strung out of all my 40 k creativity today maan. So I know I must be BLOWING up your inbox and I duly apologize. Wish I had Adobe photoshop so I could screw around with the skull on the shoulder thing, but I think I've done enough for today. IA linky

And thank you for your time. Hopefully I can get some models of these guy built sometime but as for the near and foreseeable future that isn't an option. In like 7 years? Expect an awesome thread in the HOH.

Here, have some chapter symbols. :)

OH CAMBRIUS YOU DA MAN! You even did the red in the arrow and I didn't even say do that. Are you a farseer? Or for the sake of this blog Librarian? I hate those old cleaves and I don't know why you put them on but I'll let that slide, YOU DA MAN!

Glad to be of service, it's about time I started returning the favour to the community after relying on other great members to help me adding symbols in the past few years. :) I added the Mk.VI greaves to compliment to helm as they're both form the Corvus pattern armour and I figured since the red tactical arrow was there it should stay that way. I can easily fix the greaves if you wish. :)

Thanks Cambrius (also thanks for turbot my attention to this thread ;) ). However... I'm going to be picky and say that the crosses you have on that images aren't Maltese crosses. Sorry to be so awkward :P

I wasn't sure if they were genuine Maltese crosses as Google images brought up a plethora of symbol shapes. ;) No worries.

Cambrius

@ Elric the Silvercoat - do you have an IA? Also I need a copy of a standard tactical marine armed with a bolter, and the chapter symbol applied to the shoulder. Detailed information about submissions to the project can be found in the first post.

@ TrashMan - nice work. Do you have a v5 version of your marine armed with a bolter?

@ Brother Cambrius - wikipedia has a nice Maltese cross.

Philip

With a bolter? No. Is the bolter necessary?

I do have some other images, like the assault marine..but I'll have to add the insignia to it.

I'm gonna see if I can fix the image.

EDIT: I tried several times to re-create the same colors, but I just can't seem to get the same..vibrancy and hue.. gah! Photoshop to the rescue!

Yep. All the others have bolters. There are few exceptions (like Legio Bolter and Chainsword), but generally I want to phase out all non-bolter images and have them all standard tactical marines.

Remember that the v9 painter does not have highlights.

The v5 painter does have highlights. However they look more like the type of highlights you'd get on a larger object, such as a full sized marine, rather than a miniature. The v5 painter's shading system is not perfect (and it would take a lot of code and resources to get it to be 'perfect', and that would grind the whole system to a hault) which means the colours are knocked back a bit. However the chances are, that at 'marine scale', colours would not be as vibrant as they are on your current marine (they may be that vibrant on a miniature through!).

Try to get the best you can.

Philip

If your still looking for Chapters, there's my DIY chapter The Fists Of The Emperor.

There as a standard issue tactical marine; they all had chainblades due to constant close quater fighting... and I was playing a lot of Gears when I made them <_<

@Philip: Vermillion Wings IA

I am no good with any image-enhancing software. I TRIED to make the symbol with MS Paint but it came out atrocious... It's supposed to be a set of red wings. It's supposed to look like the middle bird in this here picture, just a set of red wings. I have done all I can, and spent two nights writing up my IA. Thank you.
