Argon
Agreed. If I'm due a stern kick to the plums from the Big E himself come friday, (check my vow :cuss ) then I'll just have to brace myself for impact. And afterwards I'll spend all year secretly working on the chapter I want to try with next year. ;) Hey, your oath is nothing compared to mine. I'm gonna be turned into Chaos Spawn. You don't want to know what the other Chaos Marines do to Spawn. Now that the research paper is done and I have my new laptop charger I'm in much better shape to improve my guys.
Brother Argent
Nope. As stated before the challenge required you to 'submit an article of Librarium quality'. Thusly although you only had to submit an article. However if you submit something that isn't up to Librarium quality yet (yes you people know who you are) then I'm afraid that you wont pass the Challenge. Don't worry, I'm not going to pass either. :)
Octavulg
Except if the article isn't approved, it presumably isn't of Librarium quality...
Brother Argent
Unless of course they haven't got to it yet. That was the main reason for the open ended criteria
Octavulg
So, basically, the idea is to submit an article that gets approved. That submission should happen before the deadline, but the approval can happen afterward.
Brother Argent
Basically yes. Of course unless you're psychic you wont know if iuts going to be accepted. So you had better make the article the best you can before it gets submitted or you wont pass the Challenge. Kinda a fuzzy line, isn't it. Its one of the reasons why the results of the first Challenge wont be out for a while.
Octavulg
Actually, since almost everything takes at least a little minimal revision before approval, you could argue no one's going to pass...
Slick Jimmy
I, Slick Jimmy of the Deathclaw accept your second challenge and vow to paint fully and base 1850 pts of my Chapter before July 7th. I vow to post two or more WIP updates in the appropriate thread. I will also vow to help my brothers and sisters in the challenge with their vows. May the Emperor curse me if I should fail. Axlbush
I, Axlbush of the Scythes of Dorn accept your second challenge and vow to paint fully and base 1000 pts of my Chapter before July 7th. I vow to post two or more WIP updates in the appropriate thread. I will also vow to help my brothers and sisters in the challenge with their vows. May the Emperor curse me if I should fail. Brother Argent
Yes Octavulg I could. But that would be evil.... Hmmmm.... I have an idea...
Dark Apostle Thirst
Yes Octavulg I could. But that would be evil.... Hmmmm.... I have an idea... Do tell. Being left in the dark with two Iron Gauntlet entries - one of which has even had a name change and neither has been accepted - is quite worrisome. Guest Mordray
I, Mordray Darkblood, remembrancer of the Void Reavers must humbly admit to my failure to quantify my chapter's glorious history into easy to read summary. I shall strive to continue in this endeavor though so as to spread the knowledge of my most noble chapter.
Octavulg
If it's any consolation, you won the thread with this: failure to quantify my chapter's glorious history into easy to read summary. There are currently four IAs in the queue. 87 people signed up for the Gauntlet. The Night Scorpions and Death Heads have technically already completed it. Lysimachus just signed up to do comments. That leaves eighty unaccounted for. I didn't expect eighty-four, but I did expect more than four. :P EDIT: Octavulg can no do math. :(
Brother Argent
I must admit I expected more but, oh well, not even I passed my own challenge.
Kadris
i think more have completed this than you think. it was my understanding that the challenge was to complete an IA and submit it, not actually get it into the Librarium, at least thats how i interpreted my vow. Reyner
I failed to anticipate my horrendous procastination ability and I hit a mental roadblock shortly after posting my revised version...
Dark Apostle Thirst
I too must admit that I have failed to make two librarium quality IAs. I am cursed! :D I will go to accept the third challenge... I have already half completed the second.
Brother Argent
Well the challenge stated 'Librarium Quality" article submitted. I will go and check the articles that have been submitted to see if I consider them Librarium quality. Of course I'm fairly easy to please, however, if it was rejected by the Librarium already then I'll will of course take a harsher eye to it, just to be fair. I will do all this whilst counting up the 1680 (minimum) odd comments on the articles so I can grade peoples uills. That is why the results of this Challenge wont be out for a while. Oh and I better officially state it: CHALLENGE NO.1 IS CLOSED. ANY COMMENTS OR SUBMISSIONS FROM NOW ON DO NOT COUNT. See the new thread for the third challenge. Octavulg
The definition of Librarium-quality isn't "accepted by the Librarium"?
Brother Argent
Well yes and no...
Ferrata
Well no. To be accepted into the Librarium you need to be of Librarium quality. But to be Librarium quality, you do not need to be accepted into the Librarium. If you never submitted the article, then you cannot be tested against this bench mark. And as for me, EPIC FAIL! Brother Argent
Or if you submitted and were told to change a few minor things. I consider that to be as close enough as to be good enough. Oh well, I'll get it sorted out next week. So very busy and tired right about now.
Sigismund Himself
Well no. To be accepted into the Librarium you need to be of Librarium quality. But to be Librarium quality, you do not need to be accepted into the Librarium. If you never submitted the article, then you cannot be tested against this bench mark. And as for me, EPIC FAIL! I would say that in order to be Librarium quality, you do need to be tested against the benchmark. The Librarium determines the benchmark, that's why it's Librarium quality and not Ferrata quality (though the two are probably close). If the articles are that good then submit them and they will be accepted. It's a fairly simple test to see if they are or not :D And agreed on the Epic Fail. At least I got the article fairly finished although it's not up yet...
Ferrata
Librarium quality and not Ferrata quality (though the two are probably close) I like to think that Ferrata quality is higher (not of what I achieve, but that of what I demand of others ) Reminds me, I need to contact you about a couple of Librarium articles...
