All Terminator Space Wolf Guard

Ugh, it's been a loooooong week.

I haven't had the opportunity or barely necessary energy to take pictures of the newest sculpt or to finish painting the

next repaint. But finally today I was able to eeeek out those things.

The painting was the hardest part on this one because of a number of factors, like her hair being in the way of EVERYTHING.

And problems with clumpy paint ruining her face a few times. I might want to go back and add some more highlights to her or work a bit more on her axe.

JESKA ICEFLANK!

http://i755.photobucket.com/albums/xx194/ginocoolowski2020/jeskaiceflank2.jpg

Her shoulder pad turned out really nice, but the edges of the pad itself could use a bit more highlighting. And of course she needs that Battle Damage! I've been putting it on all the new girls but due to chronic lack of energy (possible form being sick) I will wait on that for now. I like her silver and red shield!

Now the most heinous thing since that girl with the school girl outfit!

Her face turned out nice, nicer than some of the wolf girls, but hey I took my time on it. still need to add her little flower on her headband and I'm still up in the air about the parasole it's SO HARD TO MAKE! Uuuuuuuugh. I might chicken out and just keep her wingy storm shield on there. I also need to do a bit more changing that wolf into a lion. And she doesn't have nearly enough wings or blood drops to truly call herself a blood girl.

Let me know what you think!

^_^

You've diverged into your own fan made universe; which is fine by the way, just don't expect me to like it...or play even a friendly game against you.

I play a SW-based band of kilt-wearing space barbarians. Hairy power-armored men in skirts. Does that concept offend your sensibilities? How about my using a whiskey barrel as an objective marker? That's not very serious or at all grim, I'll admit. In fact, it's kind of an ethnic joke, and individuals of Irish or Scottish descent might take offense. Where exactly do you draw the line?

anime schoolgirl spacewolves...jeebus man as if werewolves in space weren't bad enough already.

So are you saying you actually have a problem with official SW fluff, too? And BTW, "anime schoolgirl spacewolves" is going to be the name of my next band. ^_^

I look at this project in the context of a long tradition of fantasy/SF art; the evolution of fluff has left this kind of thing behind officially, but look at old WD covers and you'll find all kinds of cheesecake. Look at hard rock album covers from the '70s and '80s. I remember (fondly, since even at 35 I never totally outgrew my "LOL boobs stage,") a Rumple Minze ad from the early 90s with a blonde valkyrie babe riding a polar bear.

Is it silly? Oh, Warp yes. Does it stretch verisimilitude to have these barbarian girls get a 2+/5+? A bit.

Should we take our army-men hobby so seriously that we obsess over this kind of thing? That answer is left as an exercise to the reader.

@Kid Famous The Punch- you're a talented sculptor with a lot of imagination. Keep developing both those talents. And for the Emperor's sake, keep having fun!

Such blasphemous heresy I have never witnessed! The fluff-nazism inherent in me huffs and puffs in outrage.

On the other hand, nice artwork. I always liked that particular style (I hesitate to call it "anime" style though, because there are variations on that kind itself), and it is quite funny sometimes. Also, your conversions are well done. However, if I may, I'd say that your painting is a little "chunky", especially in the facial area.

EDIT: I think I should also contribute to the argument going on as well. While if you're doing a "serious" army, I would highly recommend you avoid things like female Space Marines, but since it's a fun army, and you like it, go ahead. Same goes KiltedMarine's army mentioned above. I would of course have to see them, but in a GrimDark context, Kilted Marines just doesn't fly well. I would of course play against them, and appreciate them for their modeling or whatever. Heck, if they're as awesome as the Angry Marines, I'd even get my own!

My point is, do what you want really, and even if people like me disapprove, I hope we don't have such a problem that we get flip out. I don't. I just go "Raaar! Heresy! Purge it, purge it!" and then give constructive advice in the project's context.

Hehehe.. I myself have too a slight problem with the "not to serious armys" but its a game and should be fun so :) And i do like thes ones for some reasons and have often imagend some north aspects in thoughts of it would be cool to have a group of Valkyris in my space wolf army... maby some converted sister of battle order in a wolf / celtic / viking theme.... :) so allot of fun to see your wicked ideas ;) and love the individual shoulderguards too and the pinup way of it like the old airplains decorations :) though some of your sweet ideas a weard and a bitt od there are some realy fun and interesting ones too :D so im curious as to what you come up with and the painting on them!!

Cheers on a fun and cool "weard army" :tu: hehe..

Loving the shield/axe color scheme, and the armor colors look great! I'm wondering what that pink bit is on Jeska's hair, though - blood that didn't come out all the way?

The BA girlinator is looking great - I'm reminded of Neon Genesis Evangelion, just on a smaller scale. Looks like you've nailed the head, and the sunflower crux (or is it a daisy? Either way!) looks pretty good. Can't wait to see the shield! I like the idea of a parasol, but I can just imagine it breaking the first time you transport it.

Thanks for the feedback, I finished sculpting her and I'm putting paint on now, I actually stopped for the night so you guys can see how she looks.

Btw It's a sunflower. lol

Here she is, in her unfinished glory

Evelengelina De Lioness Last Survivor of the Blood Shields chapter.

I like it, I just started the armor and I can already tell It's going to turn out good. One of her arms fell off when I was washing off the lubricant (that sounded weird) so there's a bit of an edge I might have to shave down with a knife. If you can see it that's bad, but i'm not going to say were it is so everyone isn't just look right at it. lol

She's coming out very well, her cheeks need a bit more blending, but her makeup came out DEAD on. lol

Let me know what you think!

Definitely the most UNIQUE wolf army I have every seen. Kudo's on the sculpting and paintwork. Some of the proportions look a little out to my eye - particularly the one with the girl coming out of what looks like regular SM armor and the one above - either she has SUPER long legs - or she's actually sitting on the groin armor?

Love the scout sketches. I have planned out a couple of scouts myself and now just waiting for the ebay bits orders to arrive so I can begin - definitely going with the full wolf pelts etc. and making them look sneaksy.

Really liking your work. The faces, as most have already said, need work but I think that practice alone will solve that. So far your best one I've seen is on your newest sculpt.

Also correct me if I am wrong but in the main book is there not a map of the 40k universe that has a side bar about a red hole that is thought to bring things from other realities into the universe? I mean pretty sure I saw it on one map and that is a solution to all of you who say that female marines cannot exist within the confines of fluff. Not to mention you do have the two legions that GW intentionally left blank and a slough of "lost" information about general thing. Like how nobody seems to know how to make plasma weapons and the worlds that can make them keep getting sacked...

I'm a self confessed fluff fan, but I must say i love your army. Specifically because they ignore the fluff. Your sculpting is great. I'm not a huge of some of the ones with little armour where it counts. But on the whole it is great. Your very talented and I like how you disregard the naysmiths and just get on. Keep going.

But this does leave a problem. Does the rest of the fang call you brother? Or sister because of your puppies?

  • 4 weeks later...

Ah thanks everyone for all the love/hate. Though I much prefer the former lol.

So it's been a bit since my last post, but once you see what I did it will be worth it.

So this weekend I participated in the Annual Warhammer 40,000 team tournament.

Man, it was a good time, you guys should have been there.

I played the girl wolves, and my teammate played eldar.

The first round we played against the "Team To Beat" at the store, which consisted of big mike (Long time rival) and his teammate. They both took Wolf Boyz. Near turn 3 the spectators to the game noticed a fatal error in the Wolf Boyz strategy. Although they had taken a lot of long fangs packs (3 each I think) they had sent all their Grey hunters to bog up the middle of the table, 20 Blood Claws and 20 grey hunters lept from a pair of rhinos and a land raider respectively. Preparing to engage the wolf girls.

It was only then as Leslie's Landraider Flamedeemer thundered straight at such a huge mass of barbecueble marines that they realized they had made a grievous error. Tempted as she was to ram her gallant transport into all three tanks she decided having the 40 marines engaged by every single wolf girl, in one giant multi-combat was even better. As the charge was met Leslie's bellowing "Who the H@LL DO YOU THINK I AM!?" gave all nearby wolf girls +1 attack. In the first round Leslie managed to destroy 6 Wolfboyz by herself, then the Wolf Guard scored another 18 kills. The remaining Grey Hunters peaced, but the Wolf Lord in the Blood Claws squad stood toe to toe with Leslie because his squad had been accompanied by a Wolf Priest, unfortunate considering that the squad had taken 17 Fearless saves, and he was the solitary enemy left. Lucky to the extreme considering that the Wolf Boyz Long Fangs still hadn't been withered down by the eldar falcons so the girlminators were sparred any retribution from 6 lascannons and 9 heavy bolters.

At the end of the game Big Mike and I had drawn VPs to an even 507 each. Which is absurd. Just making our rivalry all the sweeter!

Our teammates had let go of 689 and 830 respectively, making our margin of victory about 40 pts. Many people who watched said it was one of the best games they had ever seen, and I agree. It was really fun.

We ended up undefeated until the last round, where we lost a table quarter by 1 girlminator, and then dropped to 4th place :P

But hey, every game of the day was a masterpiece of the hobby. Lot's of hi-fiving, lots of close calls and lot's of fun!

Anyway, you want to see what I did right? Ok

After a solid year of painting space wolves grey, i FINALLY was able to do it in a way I don't hate. It's actually pretty pretty nice.

http://i755.photobucket.com/albums/xx194/ginocoolowski2020/Brawla1.jpg

I give you BRAWLA REDMANE! She's a new new girlminator, and she is only a kitbash, but she turned out so well with paint that I love her just as much as any others. That sword came out pretty nice I think.

So tell me what you think! X.X C AND C (and secret C) welcome!

-Love Kid

Thanks for the love. :)

Yes Brawla actually has no sculpting done by me on her, which actually some how makes her the most unique amongst the girlminators.

She's a wolf boyz termie with a immolator gunner's head.

@Firenze:

1- Not really. But If you wanted to see more of my bad art here you go!

http://i755.photobucket.com/albums/xx194/ginocoolowski2020/beckysofar.jpg

Pow! This is the design for my new lone wolf. Were you looking for other work? Like of not girlminators? cause I don't do this all the time...lol

2-Well I'm not that good lol. :P But I can try I guess.

I've drawing and scribbling a lot about Pre-Heresy stuff lately, but it's all in the alternate universe the girlminators are from.

So a basic explaination of their existance in the real 40k universe would be they came through an intersteller gateway of some variety and ended up here. In their own universe they had a home planet, keys and friends just like a real space marine chapter. If I get really indulgent I might make a "codex" for them.

But hey, thats a lot of work on top of the repainting, the next land raider, 6 more girls and of course new leslie, and a few other suprises.

Btw I forgot to mention the last game of the tournament when Leslie killed "vote for" Pedro Cantore, and Lysander "Why do I have 4 Wounds?" of the Imperial Fists. It was a fun game for me, not for them. :P

Did I say the Girlmintators were bad :D I just thought someone with your talents would show them there too. I'd be screaming 'LOOK AT MY WORK! IS IT AWESOME?' at people if I could sketch like that. My stuff is bland in comparison, next to no movement or dynamics. But yours, yours is another level.

I also just read your blog. What the hell.... I don't understand it...

I yell other, more disconcerting things at people lol.

Anyway, I decided since I have time with a scanner today I would put these up.

:o

Before faces explodes and hates are sent. Remember it's all in good fun, and should at least be partially taken in jest.

Forged upon these parchments is knowledge best left forgotten if you don't want the Ministratorium to send Assassins up your 6.

This above document details the current knowledge of the universe known, and not-yet-known. Meaning the left is the Real Chapters pre-heresy.

And on the Right are the tentative chapters that exist in the Girlminatores Universe.

(Chapter Titles are not necessarily consistent yet with the picture pages. Or may have already been changed.)

The Girlminators fighting some more orks, not really done, but you can pick out which girls are there if you are so inclined. Lol

So, don't kill me yet. I haven't even really explained what all this means yet.

I would also say that the Picture pages of the Primarchs probably have the more 'current' names for the chapters. As the list still says "Soul Angels" instead of "Proteous Souls." But hey I'll have a definite version here in the future.

I accept comments in the form of:

Comments, Suggestions, Grievances and Money.

Thanks!

Lol.Nice one, Kid.

And boy people take this hobby way too seriously. They have some valid points here and there but come on....Games Workshop has enough lawyers to defend it's honor all on it's own.

Warhammer is like Build-a-Bear...you take can take as much of the "fluff" as you want and cram it together with extra bits of your own to create a cuddly creature tailored to your own personal degree of comfort. It's my bear darn it!

Rewriting the 40k history/timeline/events....hmm...let me see...didn't I read something like that recently? Now hold on I'll remember....oh that's right it was called The Dornian Her....................*gets cut off by the Inquisition* ;)

Lol.Nice one, Kid.

Hahahahaha!

Good times Kid. I really like your first version of the female Logan.

Lol.Nice one, Kid.

no 40k is not like a Build-a-Bear. the goal is not to create something "cuddly", i totally agree with the guy above but at risk of getting banned ill just say, if you dont take the hobby seriously enough to defend it, what the f are you doing on this forum?
