SnorriSnorrison
@gogmagog:Thanks man! Or, 'danke'. ;)Â @Ironkobra: Thanks, yeah it's a huge post...I realised it a bit late when I started uploading the pictures...ah well, More lookey-lookey, I guess. :)@skyst:Thanks, mate! I wish I'd been a bit more consistent in the paint-scheme and technique, though. The differences between the oldest and newest units is quite disturbing. :/Thanks again guys. Midnightmare
Great stuff Snorri, nice to see them all together (its such a big thread!). It is hard to pick a personal fave, I am going to go for the SangGuard just edging your excellent Furioso. As usual kudos on your freehand, banners especially, and that Raven is really looking the part. Looking forward to seeing the DC when you get back from your trip, have fun! As usual kudos on your freehand, banners especially, and that Raven is really looking the part. Looking forward to seeing the DC when you get back from your trip, have fun! Â Thanks Midnight! Still surprised that you like the Sangguard albeit they've got the wings on their backs! Yeah the banner was made for a small online painting competition, and later re-used for that honour guard which saw the table once. When I come back, a lot of work is waiting for me! DC, Assault Squads, Tactical Squads, my Warriors of Chaos from Fantasy which I will add some odd 1500 points to in one go...and I still want to paint a new version of the Company Banner in plastic, this one's made of paper. :D Â Anyway, thanks for the kind words, man. I'll certainly be enjoying the time down under, and when I come back, I'll get some pics of the newly painted stuff online. :) Â Â Snorri Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190550-snorris-2nd-company-we-are-bloodied-yet-unbowed/page/10/#findComment-3324878 Share on other sites
Midnightmare
It has to be said I am not a fan of SangGuard wings in general, however, your's do look exceedingly good. I have got a few ideas of how to make mine a little different and have started amassing bitz for my versions. Hopefully my banner will look as good as yours! (Your list of to do's seems very similar to mine, my grey pile is unfortunately much bigger than my red pile, very demoralizing lol) Anyways, looking forward to when you next update bud Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190550-snorris-2nd-company-we-are-bloodied-yet-unbowed/page/10/#findComment-3324993 Share on other sites
SnorriSnorrison
Hey guys, you know the drill. Update time!Today it's all for the 'FROM RAGE TO SALVATION'-event...I must say, writing that in capslock makes it sound quite aggressive, doesn't it? Anyway. I pledged to finish 2 Sanguinary Priests, my Death Company(see a few pages back), the Stormraven(see even further back) and to paint a new Reclusiarch.Anyway, just to get you an idea how far I've come so far with these...pictures! http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0259_zps3a2d14db.jpg you'll be wondering where the rest of them went...well, right now there on display in a painting competition in a GW. The others are complete though, so I gotta concentrate on the remaining three. http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/3cbf20bb-f0d6-4cc9-b305-791d110ef332_zps180eb41a.jpgRarely seen, fielded every game. Two Priests! Not much to say, these two need quite a big overhaul. Perhaps some magnetised weapon options. The new guy, and one of my favourite models. Once finished, I'm going to give him a fancy name and background. Oh, he will have a magnetised bolt pistol/infernus pistol/powerfist. http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/0f68a660-48be-44af-a2e2-0418830825be_zpseb181edf.jpg And the Stormraven, or mainly what needs to be done. The freehand and the weapon options. I magnetised them back in...well, what seems like an eternity ago. Just recently, I found the lascannons under my painting table, so I'm finally be able to finish it! http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0261_zps8868842e.jpg http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/58cfd9bb-0ba6-42bb-8544-da8c0c4c599a_zps5e8298ef.jpg Alrighty, that's it for now. I'll try my best to paint over the week, and see what can be finished. See ya later folks! SnorriSnorrison
Taranis, it will be even better once finished mate! Okay, as promised, I finished my Sanguinary Priests yesterday, and with the lovely weather today, took some pics outside. I hope you don't mind. While my DC are finished to all but one guy, I'll upload pics of them once they're all finished. Also, to the vow to paint my Stormraven's weapons, I shall hereby add the hurricace bolter sponsons, just to get on with it. Enough of this gay banter - here's some pics! http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0315_zps4234db12.jpg sorry for the blurryness http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0316_zps3696b5ca.jpg http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0317_zpsf126422e.jpg again. http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0318_zps7e8eba06.jpg So yeah the power sword is magnetised, and as soon as I'll get to order some magnets I'll add some more weapon options...but not necessarily. Dark Elves on the horizon and I've still got my WoC to paint Cheers guys, and have a nice sunday. I'm sure I'm gonna have one! SnorriSnorrison
Cheers mate! :) Their former paintjob was old, and some bits are second hand(exsanguinator on the pw-guy) so they needed a complete overhaul paint wise. Glad you like it!  Definitely man, I love the idea of FRTS! SnorriSnorrison
Foul creatures. The fast, irregular sounds of their primitive drums carried over the smoldering towers of the hive city, while they danced around fires, fueled by literally anything in reach that was flammable. Petrol, exploded tires, banners, and to his very disgust, corpses of the slain. The defense force had fought valiantly against the hordes of the green-skinned bastards, but sheer weight of numbers had overrun them in less than two weeks, while the invaders had razed the city's defences. Where they hadn't been piled on the fires, the bodies of the dead lined the streets, displaying atrocious wounds inflicted by crude weapons. Strong winds from the east brought remnants of thick, black smoke and the scent of burning human flesh...and something else. The foul stench of these aliens was unmistakable even through the strong odours of the burned materials. He swallowed, for he felt that Thirst rise up in him, filling his mouth with saliva and his mind with the intense urge to spill the putrid blood of the xenos. Oh, how the Thirst was calling him! One moment of weakness would spawn an eternity of damnation, while he was indulging himself in all the slaughter and bloodshed. No. Not this time. He focused on his over seven hundred years of training, and retrieved his senses from the edge of the abyss. More important matters lay at hand. +++ With a vox-amplified shout of righteous hate he brought his activated crozius down on an ork brute, splattering blood and, typically for these creatures, a small amount of brain matter in all directions. Every strike made him feel better, clearing his mind where thoughts obscured his true purpose. Strain bullets rained on him and his brothers from all directions, few making impact on their intended targets. He moved on, leading his men through the chaotic scenes of the overrun city at the crack of dawn. The trap was laid, and he personally led the glorious vanguard to lure the snake out of its lair. As more orks joined the fight, Argastes' shouted citations of the Liturgia Sanguiniam turned into hateful cries emitted before he slayed every greenskin that dared to cross his path. His brothers around him slaughtered themselves into a righteous fury as they bore down on the greenskins. None could stand their wrath, hundreds died through their chainswords and bolters. Fiercely, they stood against waves of the greenskins, and Argastes smiled with every strike and every round that connected to one of the filthy, barbaric aliens. With a loud roar of exhausts spitting out dirty smoke and tracks and tires shrieking and grinding stones to dust, a large, almost tank-like construction broke through the remains of shattered buildings and piled rubble. Argastes was focused. Only moments now. The fighting around him had become trivial, as he easily ducked blows from the freakishly large aliens and fired bolt-rounds into heads, arms and chests in return. The last Ork fell with a swift blow to the massive head. Then he saw the beast. The Waaaghboss jumped out of the exiting ramp of the trukk, firing bullets aimlessly in the general direction of the Blood Angels and cursing in some guttural, throne-forsaken language as he made his way through the mass of boys, leading another wave towards the sons of Sanguinius. "My Captain, the time has come", Argastes voxed. "Understood, brother. For the Emperor and Sanguinius", replied the calm, stern voice of Captain Aphael. "Yes, indeed", he mumbled to himself. "FOR THE EMPEROR!!!", Reclusiarch Argastes shouted at the approaching wave of Orks, as he raised his crozius into the air. The light of the rising sun caught in the golden adornments on his old, sacred weapon, creating a shining golden halo around the winged top. "FOR SANGUINIUS!!!!" replied the combined voices of the Blood Angels around him, raising bolt weapons and close combat weapons once again. The halo of light suddenly disappeared as he smashed the tip of his crozius on the ground, and the sky filled with the sounds of howling jet engines and thrusters. Crimson Stormraven Gunships passed over the horde of greenskins, spitting out death in the form of large, six-barelled rotating cannons ejecting thousands of projectiles in a matter of seconds. The ramps opened and from the belly of each ship red-armoured marines descended upon the bellowing horde of confused greenskins on wings of fire, slashing left and right where they hit the ground, or even the aliens that just had realised their miserable lifes were about to end. +++ Argastes approached the figure standing before the corpse of a massive greenskin. The deep crimson red of its armour suit stood in stark contrast to his own, skull-adorned power armour in dire black. At his feet, the blood of the greenskins and his own gathered in puddles, drops of the scarlet liquid dripping from his left arm. "It is done, brother. The scattered xenos will pose no threat now that their leader is slain", said the figure as Argastes walked closer. "No, it is not. They will return once they've chosen a new leader. We must kill them all." Aphael turned. "You speak true, brother. We will gather our forces and re-supply before we hunt them down for good." Aphael's gaze went to Argastes limp arm, where his armour was split open, exposing bloodied flesh. "Your are wounded. Seek the Apothecary immediately." "I have duties to perform, young one. Our fallen await their ceremonies", he said as he turned to the tent covering a line of Astartes, lying head to head. +++ A little shortstory for my painted up Reclusiarch, Argastes I hope you enjoyed it. You guys might know him from the "From Rage to Salvation" thread, but here's the "official" introduction. http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0364_zps041d64b8.jpg http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0365_zps9fbae818.jpg http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0366_zps260e2eed.jpg http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0367_zps9d839ff2.jpg http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0368_zps4bd15486.jpg http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMAG0369_zpsf21ccda8.jpg Enjoy. SnorriSnorrison
It's been a long time since I've been posting in here, so I reckon I owe you guys an apology for the massive threadnomancy!! Sorry!  But, it's time to swing the brushes again, since I've pledged a vow to paint 10 Tactical Marines, 6 Scouts and a Razorback for the ETL! I didn't do much painting until now this year, having returned from a long holiday in Thailand left me with little motivation to do anything but reminisce about said holiday.  Anyways, enough with that banter! Here's the progress of my vow so far!  Scouts - still in their birthsuits! Meltabomb and Grav Pistol on the Sergeant. Did I mention that their arms are completely magnetised? http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMG_0114_zpsp6szymye.jpg  Flamerback! http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMG_0112_zpsuu62xrlo.jpg  Heavy flamer, custom! Chopped off the heavy bolters from the RB sprue and glued on the flamernozzles from the Baal Pred. Not gonna need 'em for much else! http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMG_0113_zps3nxmfqp4.jpg  Tacticals, from the "new" sprue. Nice stuff on that sprue, I say. Gotta get a pic of the various magnetised weapon options up here soon! http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/IMG_0081_zpsz7wy44rf.jpg  That's it for today really. Just a short update for the ETL.   Snorri Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/190550-snorris-2nd-company-we-are-bloodied-yet-unbowed/page/10/#findComment-4065340 Share on other sites
