Snorri,

Could you post the graphic that you used on the dice?

Thanks!

I don't have that specific pic anymore matey - sorry for that! Nothing's lost however, I simply cut out the Chapter Symbol from the Space Marine Decal sheet(that for Infantry), scanned it in and sent it off to Chessex.

There was, apparently, no problem with IP infringement, as I played quite some games at my local GW with those dice and nobody cared about it...the guys from Chessex ignored my comment regarding the symbol, so I guess it's okay from their side.

Awesome Furioso! Weathering and posing are top notch. xD Can't wait till i get my furioso ^^;

The dice are... epic.

Thanks dude! Glad you like it! ;) The kit is really great, a mandatory buy for any BA hobbyist.

Well, after this thread got called back from the dead by foul witchery(:P), I can as well announce that I've been working on my Baals(please, guys...) lately and had some great experience with that Armypainter Colour Foundation Pure Red, the effect is marvelous and probably the most time-saving tool in my time as a painter.

Gotta have some updates(hopefully with finished miniatures!) soon, but University kicks in and I have less spare time than I expected.

See you then.

Snorri.

Sorry for that double post, but my Baals are complete to 95%. Only minor stuff to do, as you will probably see in the pics.

Here's the two:

My older one, which I named "Zornbringer", German for "Bringer of Wrath":

A small shot from behind which reads "repent":

The new Baal on which I used Armypainter's Colour Primer Pure Red. Excellent results, I say! Saved me...let's say 3 hours of priming both in white and red! And the finish is really smooth!

Again a short view from behind, which reads "Angel of Death"

And one quick pic of the crew member's hair - of course washed with only the best Blood Angel shampoo and hair care products for that extra glossy finish!

Well, that's it folks - after a long hiatus from 40k(concentrated on WHFB a bit) here's what I did in the last 4 days(of which were only 2 of painting). C&C appreciated. :Troops:

Thanks for watching!

Well, well, what do we have here? Threadnomancy at its finest. But fear not, Melta-Mods, I'll call to battle and the LPC!

So, let's get this started already. I vowed to paint one Librarian and 5 Assault Veterans(aka Vanguard).

Here's some of my equipment:

http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/WIP/IMAG0011.jpg

Here's a starter, fresh from the forge!

http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/WIP/IMAG0015.jpg

Oh, wait...something's all wrong here. Imma better fix it!

Parts, ASSEMBLE! *waving hands in spellcasting manner*

http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/WIP/IMAG0025.jpg

Ah, that's better.

The same procedure as every year...more WIPs:

Close up!

http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/WIP/IMAG0033.jpg

Yet another one:

http://i946.photobucket.com/albums/ad309/Snorrinorrison/WIP/IMAG0037.jpg

That's my Libby. Notice that I used Grey Knight parts here and there, some of them will also appear on my veterans once my order from GW arrives.

Well, I'm all ears for commentary or criticism everyone. :D

Always remember: It is our duty to win the challenge this year, to uphold the honour of our chapter, the Emperor and our beloved Sanguinius!

Thank you very much, mates! ;)

The small(small? No, it's actually quite huge! :( ) figure on the force-weapon was heavily influenced by the Librarian artwork in our current codex, from the unit entry.

I decided against robes due to my bad experience the last time I tried to sculpt them and went for that bugger on the staff. Took me only one evening to get the front of it done, however the back took much longer because I was a little overexcited...and impatient.

Tonight's work will be priming that dude and hopefully get some work done on my veterans as well. See you then!

@ I am Legion: Yes, that were my thoughts as well, however I lenghtened the hood by cutting two of them to pieces and glueing them together again, which looks very nice in my opinion. Aaaand of course the bits in that box really rock!

....& the commentry made me laugh too! Unless this is true of course, in which case I need to learn as it could cut assembly times right down.....!

Hi guys, small update on the Librarian:

I got the armour done(I think) as well as the face(no pics, unfortunately). The next step will include the shoulderpads(getting some red on there) and metal parts(including the staff!) before I work my way towards the really small details.

Anyway, here's some pics!

with flash:

and without:

the jumppack

and the "complete" model:

I apologise for the crappy camera-phone pics(although I've had worse), but that's all I got.

I may be concerned about the armour, after several thinned glazes of Asurmen Blue it appears to me that it lacks something...something more blue...maybe I'm just nitpicking, maybe I'm not. What do you guys think?

Thanks for watching!

Hi all!

Worked my way through the red, gold and another highlight on the armour. I also got the face done!

I hope the picture quality is not too low.

Another shot from the side(apologies for the blurryness!)

Got that done yesterday, and will probably continue on Thursday with this dude, finishing him...before I get to the Veterans!

C&C appreciated as always, brothers!

Quick non-picture update:

I finished the Librarian today, pics will be taken and uploaded tomorrow! Means I'm half through my vow, I've already gathered all the bits for the veterans and will probably begin this evening.

Well, see you tomorrow, gents!

Well, this is the first half of my vow! Started on the veterans yesterday and I'm building them over the next days, getting this done for the glory of our chapter! But, for now, I'll go drinking and celebrating with my friends!

From the side the Libby looks like he's surfing or something.

:) this made me laugh out lout! You're right, it's a bit due to the pic!

Thanks for your attention, gents! Let me know what you think!

Gv0zD:

Thanks man, it's nice to hear that my work is able to make people do things :)

Joking, but the sprue is really good. There are a lot of purity seals that I used on this model, and the hood of course. This hood is actually two of them cut down and glued together to lengthen it!

Dem:

I'd be surprised if you found these parts in a sprue...I greenstuffed them. B)

Telanicus:

If you mean the arm itself, I think it was part of the Grey Knight sprue. Could have been a normal arm with the weapon cut off, though.

If you mean the hand, I used a normal open Hand from the Grey Knight or Sanguinary Guard sprue and cut the fingers off only to replace them with custom fingers. Hope that helps!

And I must admit the hood looks awesome this way! ;) Thanks for this idea! I'm buying a GK sprue today and will make a libby of my own. Worry not, my skills with green stuff are inferior to yours, so if the libby is half as awesome as yours, I'll consider my goal completed ;)
