The fury of our Father

Fracture

Just a little update for those that are interested and haven't found out already. Got my FT Pads through yesterday. They seem the same as the old ones but so far I've had no problems with them on the new plastics at all. Seem to fit great.

I think the buzzsaw-spine needs some dynamite strapped to it. Y'know, for the sake of subtlety. Actually it doesn't at all. It's awesome. Makes me think of night goblin fanatics for some reason.

There's a lesson in that for all of us, kids: Be as silly as you like, as long as you overcompensate with awesome. The rule of cool.

I have a few questions for you Fracture in regards to your modeling.

1) How did you make those custom shoulders? I've tried that but cant get it to curve on the shoulder without deforming horribly.

2) The buzzsaws on your DC Dread, are they from the old metal Killa' Kans? My Ork buddy didn't seem to think so.

3) The right arm of your Dread, is that IN the venerable dreadnaught kit?

That is all, I appreciate your tips!

I can answer #2 and #3

#2 I beleive they are from the old Metal ork Dred not the Kanz And it either IS/Was able to be bought on the GW site.

#3 No its not it The ven kit comes with a Left DCCW with either the normal Dred fist with stubby fingers and the Fist Fist hand, I would take a Guess that the arm is from the Ironclad since its not a old metal "furioso" arm and It doesn't look like a Forgeworld item.

But the faceplate/legs of the dread are from that box? I didn't spot them when I was looking at the sprues, maybe I'm blind.

Heh I would be more worried if you did see them since the Dred in post #47(I think can't be arsed checking) is the Chappie dred from FW as are the legs and feet so I am going to say the arms are either FW or Ironclad.

Cheers for the comments guys.

Ther dread is pure forgeworld. It's the chappy dread body with the combat arms. The dread buzz saws are indeed from the Ork dread as Barn has linked. Buzz saw for Astorath is from an old Necomunda pit slave.

There a tutorial on how to press symbols on pads on BoLS I think, but I cant seem to find it right now. Maybe someone else can link you to it.

Found it! All you need is one shoulderpad of the legion you want, Im throw a little tutorial down as soon as I can on how to mass produce your own pads (yay for working with injection molding all day!)

Anyway great job !

Been a bit busy of late moving house etc so only a small update. Working on my Sang guard no and decided in the end to go for a dark gold armour. I will be adding chips and battle damage at a later stage. They are still very WIP.

@ Bobix. Black is just a black undercoat, then a thined down layer of chaos black. Add Shadow grey to black to highlight.

As always lookign forward to any comments.

Simply beautiful models! I lobe the dark armor of the Flesh Tearers, I often hey asked if my of army is a FT army due to my heavy distaste of blood red.

Your Death Company Dreadnought is simply superb as well, and I have nothing but major kudos to give to you on your wonderful models. I find your army to be spot on to the history and feel of the Flesh Tearers.

I only have one question...no librarians?

As to Forgefather's question I would say Mechrite is closer to Red gore, But I have never liked the way Foundation paints lay on a model, and I only use them to paint the yellow for my assault squads's helmets.

Nice work here :)

My own Flesh Tearers have got no further than a magnatized DC Rhino/Razorback and 5 DC but much more is on the way. After buying a shed load of kits I've decided to change my list from a mech based Razor, Rhino, Baal style which is popular with some as a competitive BA list but doesn't seem to me to be quite right for FT. I'm going down the full jump pack DS route with 3 x 5 DC, 2 x 5 HG, 2 x 10 RAS and plenty melta spam. While it might not be a great competitive list it should be fun to play and be more in charachter of the FT. I plan to get a WIP thread going once some more of the bits I'm waiting for arrive.

Where is this head from?

And can you order the Ork Dread buzz saws directly from GW?

Edit: I see it now. £5 for each one. Daaammmmnnnn.

Thanks for your comments guys. Glad you like them so far.

As for the head, close but thats not where it came from. It is infact one of the space wolf heads with a haircut.

This one in fact.
