Everything looks AWESOME!

One question I wanted to ask you was what you think of the GW Flesh Tearer shoulder pads? In some pics it looks like they don't fit properly, and in others they look like they are smaller than the plastic ones <_<

Is this the way they are or is it the angle of some of the pictures? I am only asking because I am thinking about buying some and want to know if it is worth it....

I don't want hijack but I need to ask...

So I decided to paint using the Flesh Tearers palette but then I thought that perhaps having shoulder pads, eagle, helmet, and backpack all black that it might be too much black and I thought that instead I should follow the Blood Angel squad coherency with the different helmet colors to categorize what type of marine. So I painted up an assault marine with all the colors of a flesh tearer but with a yellow helmet. I'm just wondering what you all think of this. I'm torn because I think it looks good but not when compared to the fluff of the chapter. Any insights, thoughts, etc would be appreciated.

Thanks,

By the way, when will we see an update? So far what you've shown us is quite good, keep it up!

Hey guys. Not updated this in a long long time as I've been working on non power armoured things this year, but I'll answer some questions.

@ Darius. I do have a list for gaming. I tend to write up a list of 2000pts before I buy any stuff. Once I get the land raider finished I should just top the 2k mark.

@Grimm Blade. As already mentioned they are a tiny bit smaller. It would be better if they were updated and resized but I certainly think they are still worth getting and don't stand out on the table top.

@Arcticcanadian. If it looks good to you then go for it. It might not be 100% to the fluff but it's your army so paint it how you like.

Your models are simply amazing. Great work, if I could paint even a fraction as well as you can I'd be thrilled.

The chest piece of his Dante counts as is from the honor guard that come with the forgeworld red scorpions librarian "Sevrin Loth", as is the axe. I don't know what the skull he used is from, it looks awesome though.

Thanks for the comments guys, they really help me keep on a roll with my painting. The head is indeed from the FW Renegade Enforcer set.

Finished this guy today. Finished him quite quick but still pretty happy with him.

I paint my eyes with silver and then use a wash to colour them. Looks good in person but my camera never picks it up which is why the eyes look so dark here.

Thank's for the comment guys.

Res is correct about the parts.

@Lucius. Blue is as follows. Base of Ultramarine blue, wash with Badad black and Devlan mud. Re colour with Ulta blue and add space wolves grey to high light up. Once done add a wash of Badab black, Devlan mub and Asurman blue if you want to bring it back down again.

That's a really interesting technique!

I think I'll give that a try next time. Thanks!

The librarian looks great, and that Mk.1 Razorback is so nostalgic. Must get my gauntlets on a FW Rhino...
