ZiggyStardust
That would be our good man Sanguinor. I thought so as well. But he looked really strange without his wings and such. Wich are next to him. But i didn't understand what seems to be a torso on the wings, but i realize now that is probably some jump pack or something... Dezartfox
Played 2 games tonight smile.gif First game was against Darklighter, he's my Doubles partner and a good player. Sadly he couldnt get enough shots off before my army ripped him limb from limb. The Sagnuinor did ok, he was tied in combat for a while but played his part smile.gif Game was 1750. Second game was against a Valk heavy guard list at 1500, so no sanguinor sad.gif However he wasn't the best tactician.. decided to go flat out with all his valks towards my winged wall, and frop his troops out using the deepstrike thing.. I would have stopped after the first unit scatted back onto the Valk and died. But no... he did it with all his units... so killed 2 of his 4 squads. Then the SAng Gaurd ripped through his army. Master Crafter is great against vehicles, really handy for the 6 needed to hit a speedy valk smile.gif Alos the priests are CRUCIAL to make this army work, they saved SO many Sang Guard. Failing a 2+ and then getting a 4+ is amazing. Only things that died were to plasma, railguns and lascannons. Oh and trees. So tabled both opponents <_<
Grimm Blade
Great job in your games!!! Sounds like the guard were scared by your presence on the battle field, and made some poor decisons. How did you find it playing with the army? Was is fun, hard, wierd............? You mentioned a "winged wall" Did you not deep strike? GB

Arkio the Blessed
I love the NMM effect. What type of grey primer did you use on your models?
Dezartfox
Hycote Plastic Primer, or Grey primer, has two names. About 6 cans for £20 I think. Game two is on my site: http://www.the-vanus-temple.com/?p=1890 Sang Guard against Valks. BATTLE FOR THE SKIES
StaticElf
Hey guys sorry for the noob like question but I am guessing I missed something as you have no troops in the army? Does Dante make the sang guard scoring and troop selections?
Arkio the Blessed
Yes he does, which makes him kick ass.

Burningblood
How'd you paint his wings? I'm going to try something simlar with Astorath- Grey primer with red ink and Baal Red washes. Thoughts?
Dezartfox
Grey, a wash of blue, then layered it up with white  Might want to add a Devlan mud wash somewhere, jsut to give some depth, Baal red is pretty weak.
Burningblood
Yeah I still have a bunch of red (can't remember the name for it) ink from the original ink line. What do you think- Devlan, Red, Baal Red or Red, Devlan, Baal Red?
Dezartfox
Unsure how the ink would react with the washes colour wise. However I think you should base coat the wings a different colour other than grey, as they'll turn out quite pinky unless you add a few washes of devlan or badab in there. Burningblood
Oh sorry I'm talking about the armour. Yes definately baadab black and then black ink on the wings (going for a sinister appearence). For the armour I want that bloody, fleshy, Hellraiser throwback look.
chrisb83
I think you cornered the market on Sang Guards. I just got this email: "I've got your order here and I have some unfortunate news. Apparently GW is sold out world-wide of the Sanguinary Guard. Now, they've assured me that there is another batch on the way, but it won't hit state-side until the 19th of this month." You terk er guaardds! :P Games Workshop is actually out of the Sanguinary Priests as well. I shoulda pre-ordered!

Dezartfox
A slight alteration to the gold armour, try to get the NMM a little more realistic without spending hours. The wings take the longest! Happy with the scheme, I felt he was missing something, so I gave his gun and jetpack a nice little glow effect that I love :) The wash on the jetpack glow is still wet in the photos.. Also he'll get some weathering powder applied to his feet, and the base will be a desert themed base! :) http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/models2/DSCF1790.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/models2/DSCF1791.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/models2/DSCF1792.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/models2/DSCF1793.jpg http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg246/Dezartfox/models2/DSCF1794.jpg

Dezartfox
Damn you make some snazzy poses. I hope you don't mind me stealing... 5-10 of them. Not at all, most I simply cut at the shoulder, rotated it a little and glued it back together, that's how I get the different poses ;) Looks great mate, and +1 for loving the poses. Got to be honest, it looks a right pain in the ass to paint all them wings though lol How did you paint the glow on the jump pack? I quite fancy stealing that idea! Seconded! Mix between washes, thinned whites and stuff, I'll do a tutorial soon, I'm ralatively new to blue glow, always done green :)
