coteaz40001 Posted April 26, 2010 Share Posted April 26, 2010 Easy to defeat how? No invuln save like Terminators. Feel no pain helps only with those basic 2+ failures. and what..20 something models? That wont last very long. A fun army to play, yes, effective...not so much. I play a 2000pt version of this list and i haven't had any problems with every thing dying too fast. When i hit the table, every piece of enemy armor dies, then they get to shoot my 2+/FNP ARMY Once. That's it. Then they watch in horror as I crush their entire army in two turns. After building my new Dante (lower down), Sanguinor was looking really small. At least now i know what my dante conversion will look like when i get around and convert up a dante fill in for my DIY successor chapter. I had already planned to use the sanquinary guard bitz..but now i know that my idea will actually come out well. I may have to do that with the wings as well and use the special characters wings instead as they look more impressive on a character than the plastic ones from the sanquinary guard kit. Dezartfox Posted April 29, 2010 Author Share Posted April 29, 2010 Played three more games tonight ^_^ First was against my Darklighters BA list, he's just figuring out how to use this list after using Tau for many years. Was quite bloody with Sanguinor taking on Mephiston and a unit of assault marines. If anything the damn fast Vindie killed most. In the end I won the game :) Second was against Tyranids, quite a small army for 1750, managed to take down all the big beasties though. Sanguinor and 2 squads all ganging up on the swarm lord and his tyrant guard. At end of turn 5 I was holding three objectives, another win! Third game was the HARDEST game I've played so far, against a mech eldar list. was killpoints and went all the way to turn 7. He had built his army around a bajillion ap2 guns and an avatar.. done remember him casting ANY powers all game! at end of 7 I had Sanguinor and 1 sang guard left! However I won on the killpoints, something like 11-7 :) So, so far I'm on 10 games, 10 wins! WHo was it that said this list was weak?! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Dezartfox Posted May 7, 2010 Author Share Posted May 7, 2010 Played against Darklighters BA yesterday, one objective each and quarters, my rolls for reserves were terrible, I on;y got one unit down on turn 2, the other mishapped and was delayed, and so on. So best I could do was a draw! 11 games, 10 wins, 1 draw Also started painting..slowly. Once uni has finished on the 11th this thread will be updated a lot! I'm putting up two armies, one almost pure sang guard and one with, well, pretty much everything else that has jump packs. The Sanguinary Guards are really the most annoying to paint, their big 2 handed weapons and wings get in the way all the time. I wish I had not glued them beforehand... Hope you don't mind but I'm here to ask some advice. I am currently about to start Blood Angels so I made a 1000 pt list today with Dante, 2 units of sang guard with 2x infernus pistol and Power fist in each unit and 2x Sang priests with jumps packs and then either a unit of 5 vanilla sternguard with a drop pod or a Furioso with blood talons with a drop pod. How do you think dante and 10 sang guard will perform at this points level for friendly games and is the dred or vanguard a good idea or can you think of anything more effective to spend my last 160 points on? I didn't steal your Dante, But I think i'll be using your ideas on the Sanguinor ;) Also, really love how simple your NMM technique is. Can't believe how easy you achieved it. Cheers :cuss The wings mainly, they're an easier version of what I've been doing, they're not that neat but look weathered and such, so they work ;) The blue glow is a new "subtle" glow compared to the first, and the power weapons are quick and easy. OH Forgot to mention my first loss with the list! Against darklighter! Was kill points, my army came down too slow, and Mehpiston ripped through most of my army before dieing.. bah.
