GooseDaMoose
*Runs off to Wikipedia...* Damn. You're right. Although apparently the Russians used a small blackpowder cartridge to propel the liquid. And did you know, they were the only ones to actually try and camouflage their flamethrowers so they wouldn't be targetted by snipers. :o Ain't Wikipedia awesome? Pegasus
I thought he was referring to incoming fire, as opposed to bracing for muzzle recoil from his own weapon. So it made sense to me... Â @Ussel: I start with a coat of red gore, then several coats of blood red. Once that's done, red wash to give it depth. Pretty simple :o Cheers, John Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/205686-international-brotherhood-of-hobbyists/page/46/#findComment-2619926 Share on other sites
Brother Martemis
HELP! guys; how would you make a terminator look up-armoured? and not have a helmet?  here's the reason, i want to make a terminator who looks like he hunts down MC's and Tanks as its counts as space wolves - he may have a chain fist or a combi melta - but will have a storm shield (like a riot shield, probably)  but, the squad is not wearing helmets. but i want this guy to look like he could shrug off a battle cannon round and rip into the tank that tried to kill him. but keep with the "you want my head, come and take it from me!" theme  hope you guys can help, any suggestions? kizzap88
Google "bomb disposal suit" and you will see that they all have a sort of collar around the front of the face...i would recommend doing something like that... GooseDaMoose
I agree with Kizzap. Like the juggernaughts from CoD Modern Warfare 2. Check out Bad-Sam's Space Wolves on the Hall of Honour section. His lord is armoured like you're thinking, and he's helmetless. Got another five pair of legs ready and gonna start the torsos today, so hopefully some pics for you guys tonight =D Â I got a Q tough: When makeing smaller details with GS, should I allow the GS to cure a bit before I go to town? GooseDaMoose
Letting it cure is definitely a good idea for small details. GooseDaMoose
Quick update on my LPC:  Tactical Squad Bhagat:  http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b440/GooseVonMoose/LPCPain001.jpg  http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b440/GooseVonMoose/LPCPain007.jpg  Brother-Sergeant Bhagat  http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b440/GooseVonMoose/LPCPain004.jpg  Brother Iliya  http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b440/GooseVonMoose/LPCPain003.jpg  Brother de Beauvoire  http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b440/GooseVonMoose/LPCPain008.jpg  Brother Bukowski  http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b440/GooseVonMoose/LPCPain010.jpg  Brother Yat-sen  http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b440/GooseVonMoose/LPCPain006.jpg  Last brother doesn't have a close-up as he is not part of my LPC vow :D  So I'm thinking of basing my guys on a ruined temple in autumn colours, to contrast with the dull black and white and tie-in with the red details. How does that sound? Comments and criticism welcome and appreciated! Brother 'Ussell
Goose, I'm wondering why some of the barrels on your marines are drilled but not others? I also think the shiny parts on them would benefeit from a light wash with something dark. Â Lestat, great modeling! not paint that bad boy up! Â Natanael, pics a bit small but looking good.do you use a clay shaper to smooth your green stuff? I've heard they work well. Â Mick, those look awesome, you've nailed the effect, I'd say just go back and touch up some areas where the wash has dripped down too much, the scale of the effect is out. I think if you want the brown slime dripping down the side of the tank look you might have to paint it by hand. Â I'm on the road at the moment so no new pics from me, picked up the forge world model masterclass though. Pretty good so far, I'm only a few pages into it.
