I did give it a go, failed, shrugged, repainted the wings white and went with washing it. Here is the result Washed the wings with heavily watered down codex gray, which seems to have come out well, maybe needs another coat. Yes, but that is what a logical person would have done :blink: The wings got another coat of white as GooseDaMoose suggested More gray shows up in the picture then in real life, but they are much brighter then before. Leardinal Posted November 18, 2010 Author Share Posted November 18, 2010 Hey all, I liked my Captain/Champion before, but his pose wasn't very...commanding? inspiring? Captain-y? So I decided to remodel the Captain and make another model for the Champion. Also started work on some bikes. Captain I have loved this pose ever since I saw the metal Dark Angels Captain, I have just never taken the time to replicate it. I still need to do some green stuff work and plan on giving him a cape and a thumb. I also just realized how large that sword is. Ah well, I am sure he can swing it. Blood Champion I figured that since the Company Champion was an honor, he should some highly decorative armor. Bikes Biker Sergeant I give my Sergeants wings so when someone asks "who's the sarge" I can say "the one with the wings." Strangely, a special CCW just doesn't scream "Boss" to some people. I got a kit from my FLGS and redid my captain again, but I don't think he will have any more versions. Put together 3 veterans and some of the scouts. Captain Tiberius of the Knights of the Abyss' 4th Company Veteran charging into battle with a Great Sword Veteran with a Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield turning towards a target Veteran Shooting with a Bolt Pistol and armed with a Power Axe Scouts I decided ten scouts were pushing my attention span at the moment, so I picked my 5 favorites and got rid of mold lines, filed rough spots, and drilled the barrels. Gaps were filled with green stuff and they were base painted black This is not mine, but I liked it so much I decided to post it. Before I left for break I played another tournament. During it I played a Blood Angles Player that fielded this as a counts as Storm Raven: Tank "Mode" I fell in love with it. I don't know why, but I did. Yeah, it looks odd, but I still like it very nice pose on the libby, congrats!! Thanks! ...Unfortunately, I turned to talk to someone and his backpack decoration caught my sleeve and he fell off the table and got stepped on. Now I have to repair him... (nice stormraven too...dunno, with the old raider it looks cute. ;)) You know what? "Cute" is the word that was used to describe it at the tournament. I just didn't want to post it... :) I did paint my Captain and the rest of the Honor Guard. Also painted up the Thunder Hammer Veteran. Captain I protected him with a layer of gloss varnish, which is why he came out so shiny. Captain and Honor Guard Company Champion I wanted his shoulders to look like they were made out of marble. Great Sword Veteran Thunder Hammer Storm Shield Veteran I wanted him to have a heraldry on his shield. I decided to keep it simple and the "stars" represent how many campaigns he has participated in.
