Hello all,

Did some more work on the Kill Team and now have all the specialists built.

I was going to give him the axe head from the metal Techmarine, but he has vanished. So, I decided to with a wrench look and am calling it an omnitool, (yeah...I meant to do it!) He is also carrying a combi plasma I slaped together.

I plan on having this team done and painted in time for a game on Sunday. It will be the first time I have played with an entirely painted army, (only seven models, but it still counts!)

:P I can't believe I missed that.

It might have helped if I referenced the name in the actual log rather then assuming people think like I do

Well, there is this little thing called the Liber which is more than willing to help you :P

Yep, I know. It was fun watching them tear it apart the first time

Hello all,

I am rollin' now! I have the last three Deathwatch Marines built, along with some objective markers.

Planning on painting the squad tomorrow.

Just noticed the mold lines aren't shaved enough, whoops.

Objective Markers

I thought these might make neat little way shrines, for the Faithful on the go.

Nothing special with these, just got around to putting them on bases.

Hello all,

Hmmmmm, faith on the go... You should write some special rules for those objectives :)

Ideas are already bouncing around in my head :)

Just a quick update, I had planned to have the entire squad painted or well along by this time, but the weather was not cooperating or I was doing something with my family. So all I have for now is the Squad Leader PIP

Hello all,

@Dorns_fist: Thank you!

Another small update, got the Squad Leader finished, and started on the next Marine.

I did a little bit more after I took this picture, the base is now brown and static grass is covering up areas where the asphalt doesn't cover.

Still PIP, probably going to be a Crimson Fist.

Hello all,

I finished working on the Crimson Fist for the Kill Team,

Crimson Fist

gallery_53411_5179_231937.jpg

I am working on the Black Shield next, but the only the base coat is done, so no good pictures of him yet.

I did find this,

gallery_53411_5179_946720.jpg

and am now thinking about removing the blade and using it for my Dread's sword, just have to file down the sides and stick it on the Aquila hilt I have made and get the Dreadnought finished

That sword is like Hemans lol that CF DW watch marine is great....no biased comment there mind u, but as a future thought maybe he woulda been more 'CF' with a box mag, if you get my meaning.

Keep it up though man.

I sense no biased whatsoever, I mean you don't have any history of being biased, *remembers comments about how "Space Marine" should have been about Crimson Fists* :(

but as a future thought maybe he woulda been more 'CF' with a box mag, if you get my meaning.

Hmmm...*Quick google search, all sickle mags,*

Well...*Quick skim through your log, all sickle mags except Sernguard,*

I might give him a box mag just to help him be a little different from the others.

Well, I forgot to post this guy when I finished him. I also got the Tech Marine done, but I realized his chest was melted from glue and I was not happy with him, so I think I will just replace with a normal Marine.

Noooooo :D I really liked the Tech marine guy...

The black looks a little flat, but other than that it's pretty good :D

:P Are you Psychic? Did you know i was going to make him a Mask of Death? Do I need to call a Black ship?

Well, then I have to make a choice then: Either I shift him back to holding his gun in two hands, or I rip him apart and get him new legs and new chest, and find an axe head.

Yeah, I really need to try my hand at highlighting, that might help

'Looks at Birth in sig' The question seems to be, are you psychic? :)

I actually had no clue, but I really liked him, with his cables and ad-mechy head. He just looked cool, even with the fairly basic two-handed bolter pose, and I think that going back to that would be very fitting of both his tech-adept status and as a Mask of Death

Right...So It's been a while.

I don't have a good excuse, I just wasn't do anything 40k related, (Fantasy related, but not 40k.)

I got the itch to make my Deathwatch Kill Team True Scale the other day, and then I stumbled upon Chapter-House's "TRU-Sclae" kits, and gave into temptation and laziness.

I bought one of each kit, and they arrived yesterday:

gallery_53411_5179_731291.jpg

I am going to start right after I post this, but at just a glance I can see some changes I want to make.

  • I am not enamored with the shoulder pads, some look a little messy and I want to use the Deathwatch Pads.
  • I am going to cut off the top vents on the Chapter house Packs and put on normal vents

Right, off to work.

Comparison Shot

gallery_53411_5179_737583.jpg

I just used the normal back pack instead of the ones that came with the kit, they are just as wide and not as blocky.

I decided to try to make his armor look like a jumble of older marks of armor instead of the kneeling pose I had him in before.

Hello all,

With 6th Edition out now I decided to really get back into the hobby.

I decided that I would set more attainable goals, instead of trying to build and paint 1500pts of marines in a couple days, I am going to start working towards 500pts and play it by ear.

So I started by working on half a Tactical Squad. These pics are missing a Marine I am working on now who just will not cooperate, so I am letting him sit a day and will try again tomorrow.

On a side note, the more I look at what I bought from Chapter House, the more buyers remorse I feel.

@DAT: Ah good, there is a name for it.

@Dorns_Fist: Yeah, if you see a story about someone in Kentucky being suffocated by green stuff, at least you will know I deserved it. :P

I am probably going to two teams, (one in CH Tru-Scale, and the other at normal scale,) because I already have one guy at my FLGS moaning that I am just doing them True scale for that extra 1/4 inch height true line of sight.

Not too fond of those CH kits, look a bit halfassed to me.

Glad to see you giving your Marines some time, looking forward to seeing some paint on em.

Although please try to refrain from ripping off my scheme :P ;)

Looking good mate, thats a really nice combi plasma. The wall bashing/charging marine is sweet, you really captured the movment on that guy. So I see you've done a Crimson Fist but wheres the Marine Malevolent?

@Razblood: Ha! You and I both know it is far too late for that! :D

@HumanSupreme: Thank you, and you have made me realize that bipod sounds much cooler then "stand."

@Tellos05: Thank you for the kind words. There is a Malevolent in the works, but I need to invest in some yellow paint and figure out how to make their emblem first.

Minor Update

My hobby area was host to a dog we taking care for the past couple of weeks, and now I have a chance to work on my Marines again.

gallery_53411_5179_146789.jpg

gallery_53411_5179_280932.jpg

Just another Tactical Marine. Originally I was going to have him in a sprinting pose, but I couldn't get his right arm to look right. Ended up with him just taking a shot off with his bolt pistol while he is running. Filled the gap between his left hand and wrist after I took this picture.

gallery_53411_5179_78587.jpg

The beginnings of the Assault Squad. Sergeant is on the right, after I finished the Marine on the left I knocked my pin vice off my desk and broke the bit. Now I have to find where I left the replacement bits so I can drill the bolt pistol's barrel.
