Purifiers/And their mysteryNemesis.

My Sons theme ... Neo-Nazi Spartans with a fire fetish.

We need something like that to work from.

And the Red Lords are basically Cromwell-era-England-in-space, not that I think anyone'll intentionally go for that theme here anyhow. ^_^

Also, that picture I did now has gold backpack joints. :D

Theme wise, I think we should focus on high-handed purity. Think Spanish Inquisition/Witch Hunts. They basically go to war where ever, whenever, for basically no reason, just because the "impure" are there. They show up outta the blue and start killing people that have little/no impurities. When dealing with other organizations like Astartes, they generally remain aloof, if not down right suspicious of those of lesser gene-seeds/purity, and they treat everyone with equal or better purity with indifference.

Also, this allows for a great quote:

"NO ONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION! *cough**cough*I mean...the Purifiers..."

So the theme is Monty Python Spanish Inquisition in space? I can work with that. ^_^

I guess our main weapons are soft comfy sofas and pillows?

"No one expects the Purifiers. Our chief weapon is surprise. Surprise and fear .. fear and surprise. Our two weapons are fear and surprise, and ruthless efficiency. Three, our three weapons are fear, surprise and ruthless efficiency, and an almost fanatical devotion to the Emperor. Our four, no, amonst our weapons ... amonst our weaponry are such diverse elements as fear, surprise, wait I'll come in again."

And our means of transportation is by running while clapping coconuts together.

Honestly though, Monty Python aside, I think the Witch Hunts/Inquisition idea would work. They crusade across the stars and start killing anyone who isn't pure.

But 40k already has those ... SoBs (I love saying that now) and GKs.

Monty Python Spanish Inquisition in Space has my vote.

Crusaders determined to purify those who they feel can be purified through pain and if not...well, let's not talk about them.

On the colors, i don't think the brown soft armor looks very good. I might try more of a darker color.

Edit: Because of the Grey Knightish feel to my suggestion, maybe more of the above, except they view themselves as the ultimate examples of perfection, to whom everyone else is compared.

Definitely seems like a good theme. They ARE purity. They should also be a little arrogant about it. Maybe a LOT arrogant about it.

So, are we pretty much agreed on the colors? Maybe darken the soft armor, but otherwise solid?

Lastly, have you considered anything further about the Hulk? Ace votes against the Hulk in general, I vote in simply cutting away the crappy parts and slapping some engines on that sucka. I think that in general though, the idea of having the Hulk intact, still filled with enemies, and without a guidance system is too much.

I suppose we could have them blowing enemy occupied sections off. The only problem with that is then the Nemesis wouldn't be able to have some sort of place to hide a tracking device or group of them. Oh, and in response to Ace's constructive criticism of my HDF idea, I would like to note that many chapters have serfs and other people protecting their fortress monasteries in addition to themselves. This would naturally be a very small force, because mortals don't live long, and they wouldn't exactly have a very steady or large supply of them.

What tracking device? That's not wholly necessary I think. I must have missed it when it was brought up earlier. I think the whole idea is that no one knows how they find them, or why they come after them. A tracking device wouldn't be cool enough :D I think the best thing would be that it is a mystery. Perhaps a veiled implication that there is a traitor, or more than one, in the ranks of the Purifiers?

Well, only we, the all-knowing, all-seeing viewers of the universe, and the Nemesis would know about the device/small band of Nemesis(who could be planted inside the Purifiers, sort of like my Fallen theory).
Those colour schemes are just :)

You mean the Chaos one? That was my objective.

No that one is indeed hideous, but I was refering to the last three on page 2.

Well, I'm hardly an impartial judge, but I actually thought that they looked pretty cool. :)

Is there any one part that stands out as :) , or is it just the overall effect?

They are too busy, and try too hard to be unique. They look like any one of a dozen Liber newbie Chapter schemes.

I like the scheme on page one, it reminds me of the Knights of Genetic Purity from the old Andromeda tv series. And in regards to the comment that said it looked too Luna Wolfy: The Luna Wolves didn't have chest eagles let alone gold ones (considering the fact that the Luna Wolves became the Sons of Horus prior to even Mark 5 Heresy armour).

They still remind me of the LW. What else can I say? The eagle/lack of eagle isn't much of a difference when the armour, trim and eyes are all the same colour. :P

I see what you mean about the proposed alternatives looking rather busy, though.

I'll have a sit down later and try something a little more simple, and hopefully better. :P

EDIT: A bit like these:

OTHER EDIT: Keeping pic count down.

Presented in white and burnished gold for the appraisal of the Liber.

They're a bit... generic, I admit. But I'm not sure how to detail them further without it looking as frantic as the others.

EDIT EDIT: Actually, they're very generic. And I really must stop automatically posting ideas for white armour just because I think it's the coolest colour. :P
