@ MagicMan, thanks for pointing it out man, if I'll have time to clean up nuances like that I will, but right now the last models are a priority.

@ commander alexander, No, it's actually a M&Ms candy and tooth pick! msn-wink.gif

Looks like cardboard and tooth picks to me.

The black one, yeah looks like an upside down mushroom.

the table is cardboard, the grill is M&Ms... trust me :P

POPPYCOCK!

You sir are a liar and a fiend! One cannot simply convert the deliciousness that is the M&M into a tool of sunday outdoor cooking for miniature men of the plastic variety! This violates the code of the Reese's Convention, Article 43, Section twizzler and I do quote sir "Protected sweets are hereby entitled, in all circumstances, to respect for their deliciousness, their gooey center, their collective bite sized, their choice of nuts or no nuts, and their flavors and colors. They shall, at all times, be treated with ice cream, if they so choose, and shall be protected, especially against all acts of being fed to obese children and acts of perverse converstion thereof and against ice cream and molten caramel coating. M&Ms shall be especially protected against any attack on their chocolatey honour, in particular against BEING USED AS TOOLS IN SICK MODELING GAMES OF THE MENTALLY INSANE!"

I rest my case.

Good Day to You Sir!

Wow that Ork army looks amazing and the Mexican one is pretty funky as well.

One question though, how come the prizes you got were already assembled?

Vulkan

The prizes were Black Box promo models, that were assembled for the store, and our manager just raffled them out to thte winners...

Stunning, just stunning.

Your artwork, your painting...

I also liked the flamer conversions.

Any chance for an Iron Warriors art piece? :tu:

Enjoy.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm a little late to this party, but I have to say this is an excellent looking army! I bow to your painting skills!

Did you ever consider painting the pin-ups normal from the neck down but like Gorgons from the head up? Maybe pretty faces, but snakes for hair?

Keep up the awesome work!

Well, it has been so long since an update, but there is truth in the stars. A friend has opened the wanders of his bitz box to me for a trade....

The long awaited, and anticipated on my part project has started in the grim forges of mars. I have started on the models of Garro

gallery_52083_5542_97260.jpg

and the Banner!!!

gallery_52083_5542_321518.png

I will be attempting Doghouse Gothic Pattern Marines

It seems a pretty straight forward conversion, but I have thought on how to build this guy for a while now. While doing my research, have listened to Garro: Legion of One, and while getting a thrill from the story, I could not help to think of a wicked idea. The story emphasizes on Garro himself, the Ultramarine Rubio, and the World Eater captain Verren.

And then it hit me. A command squad!!!!

I just got the bitz, need one more set of legs, now comes the hardest part, and I come to you for help.

I have a dilemma, Comand squads are great for two things, close caombat or special weapons unit (5 meltaguns in a squad can hurt)

This will be a close combat squad. I'm making a specialist squad separately.

But what characters do I introduce besides Garro??? I'm thinking Verren, as it just too coll to have a loyalist World Eater (so a chain axe is due)

The squad will have a standard bearer, an apothecary, and one more marine. So what are your suggestions??? Who???

Tarvitz? Qruze? Voyen??? But who would be who?? I would really like to try and keep this close to fluff, so help!

for the game purposes I'm thinking of using Verren as champion and treating his chain axe as a power weapon.

In the story the three Astartes are noted on having Corvus armor. But I will stick with Maximus armor for Garro. should I convert the rest in Corvus armor? I have two MK6 chests,, and an Aquilla Chest piece for Tarvitz. everything else will have to be GS.

my camera had the misfortune of being dropped, and that killed the lens on it, so for a while, but I'm working on getting pics up.

I cant comment on the command squad but I will comment on that pic and your banner. You have some serious skill there buddy. I cant wait to see the model version of that. I especially like the cloak flowing from Garro it adds a lot of drama.

Ok Ive just gone back and looked through your entire thread and all I can say is WOW! Fantastic stuff here. i dont know how Ive missed it so far. As others have said I cant wait to see that banner on a model.

Haven't responded here in a bit, sooo....

1. Congrats on the 2nd place in the Armies on Parade contest, it was well deserved!

2. Are we gonna be seeing the prize Stormbird in SoG colors? If so, I insist on old warhawk teeth nose art on her, lol.

3. Ahh, the finished Garro...so gorgeous. That banner is nice too, love to see that on an actual banner bearer.

4. Great to see the entire army, the pin-up art (especially the Jessica Rabbit) still makes me smile everytime. Wonderful job, man.

5. CQC Command squads get expensive, but they're so much fun. The best set up for such a squad is usually all storm shields, power weapons, and at least one power fist for those targets that just refuse to die. No Champions, I've never found them to be worth it. A Stormraven for them to assault out of would help too. *Hint Hint, Nudge Nudge*

6. As for who each will be, I'd personally go Garro (obviously), Rubio (PW/SS), Verren, (PW/SS), then start getting strange, lol. Maybe a Thousand Sons Apothecary, a Night Lord (PW/SS), and finally an Alpha Legion loyalist (or is he?) with PF/SS. Be odd.

Looking forward to seeing the CQC Command, brother!
