Evening all,

Quick update for you, been working on this unit some more, reworking a couple of the marines, notably the seargent, and word to my man 1000heathens, had to copy his jumping over the wall marine (though not executed quite as well!) as it works really well with the rest of the squad.

Still trying to figure at poses for the last 2 marines, any suggestions welcome!

Thirst: Thanks man, appreciate that but happy with him as is

Togusa-san: Had a play with a reeling marine, couldn't stop it looking like he was pulling some serious shapes in a 40k fashion so had to go with something more traditional, if left handed.

Olisredan: Yes mate, maybe a little OTT, just a little, ok maybe a lot!

None the less, finally got the last 2 of the squad done!

Soooo, no love for the infantry, well maybe some WIP of the armour?

First up the Landraider Redeemer, interior almost done and the external metallics.

Still need to weather up the interior and work on the altar and candles but coming along goood.

Next up, due to FW casting out the super duper spaced armour into the bin, I decided I would try out some spaced "bar" style armour as seen around a bit at the moment.

This is making an appearance on my close support Pred variant, counts as a Destructor twin AC's have no in game advantages and nor will the Assault cannon sponsons.....

This takes up an in-ordinant amount of plastic tubing but I actually really like the result

Cheers all!

I don't know how I missed this thread - your conversions are epic NightHunter!

I agree with previous comments that the plastic tubing space bars look convincing. Your figures conversions are very good, but your vehicles are inspiring.

Looking forward to seeing more in the future.

Regards, Brother Morgan.

Your conversions are outstanding but what I REALLY like is the mod to the Predator.

It takes a lot of creativity to make the Pred kit look like a fighting tank as opposed to a boxy tracked apc with a turret.

you obviously succeeded :D Good work !

Ok wow, the armour has it!

Paladin7221: Cheers Buddy, sorry not to have been more helpful!

DeathKnight2000: thanks also, stole the idea from the way Nato members are uparmouring their "Softer" vehicles in conflict zones without making them too heavy, have a look at the Stryker the US army uses and you get the full picture.

Brother Morgan: High Praise indeed from the creator of many many awesome Landraiders! There I was thinking that my infantry models were where my skills lay, but seriously, thanks man, much appreciated and may have to spend some more time with the armour than it currently receives!

Volfen: Yeah that has always been my biggest gripe with the pred, it just doesn't look terribly bad ass out of the box and is the mainstay of the armour for the most elite fighting force in the galaxy B) . But glad the desired effect has been achieved!

Boramar: Too kind chap and please feel free!

That is all, will hopefully be getting involved in a Vindi over the weekend, will let you know how it goes!

Yup for sure, going to go for a long barrel version aka "sabre" from back in the day, taking many hints from the StuG III from WW2, had armoured "skirts" so bar armour instead me thinks!

Hopefully going to be the centre piece for a little diorama I have in mind.

Okey dokey, ladies and gents, finally pulled my finger out and started on the Vindi sabre conversion with the bar armour.

Now, whilst I like the StugIII esque look of this bad boy, I am not convinced on the Bar armour skirts.

They are slightly bigger than than on the Turret, (best match I could find), and I think this may not be helping the look....

Other than that, coming on OK and will of course keep you all updated on progress.

Dark Apostle Thirst: Cheers chap!

Paladin7221: Well that would be 5.3cm from the end of the demolisher, now go forth and builds one!

And the work from this evening, basically going to have this on a scenic base with a squad of scout bikers, one of whom has climbed up to inform the Commandant of the latest developments from the front, somewhat wip at the mo.....

gallery_42238_5618_27000.jpg

Also moved the AC down a little bit and figured those exposed fans on the top plate could do with some covering!

TTFN!
