First of all, really awesome stuff, been watching for a while

Secondly, scout bikes are pretty much the same size, same length/height etc. The only differences really are they only have the one exhaust pipe as opposed to the two (per side obv) on the SM bike, the front mud guard is smaller & the faring is less unsubstantial (An the bolters look 10x better!)

Good evening all,

Right, been a while, sorry about that, but have been working on the crane/lifting arm on the Tusker.

Currently still in its infancy but pretty happy, at a loss as to what to add to the bottom as a grabby thingy but sure something will come to me..... I hope!

As a person who can barely apply an even coat of paint, this thread serves as an inspiration of astounding heights. From the impeccable paint jobs in the first few pages to the endless conversions leading to this very page, I am honestly at a loss for adequate words. Not only have and will the pictures you post enthuse me to put in the effort and improve, they also show that such quality can be attained. Thank you and I know I'm not the only one who is looking forward to your future posts.

Why not use a sentinal foot, but with the toes clipped and then reattached to make a claw? The socket would fit perfectly and it would mean that you werent wasting anything!!

Spazzola: Christ chap that is far, far too kind, but delighted that my work inspires and most of it really looks far more complex than it is :D

But at the end of the day I have been at this since good old RTB01 and there is no substitute for practice, lots of it and a really big bitz box! Thanks again Brother!

Brother Captain Josef: Thanks brother, always trying to keep it real!

AridMonk: Long time Brother, as luck would have it, had a similar idea yesterday:

Also been working on some armourers for the Bikes and Tusker:

Basically the Night Hunters do not use Servitors (Long story) so these guys are the Techmarine's bods!

Cheers all

Quite right there Frater, it will indeed end up as quite a large diorama, 3-4 more bikes, the Sabre Tank Hunter, Razorback, resupply trailer for the Tusker, point defence squad and that's about it.

Still trying to work out how to build two exo-armoury-lifting unit thingys for 2 armourers who will be loading rounds into the back of the Sabre, but those are not going so well, at all!

If anybody has any ideas on those, that would be super!

Cheers all,

One of the better exo-skeleton converions I've seen was over on DakkaDakka - they basically used an ork body as a basis, and built the armour around it.

Perhaps use a similar concept to create the lifter from Aliens/Walker suit from Avatar etc. Build around the pilot as opposed to building for a pilot.

Great model you have there. I don't doubt in the slightest you'll be able to put together your exo-suit given your current progress.

Olisredan: Thanks brother but to be fair progress is generally slooow so reckon your timing i probably good!

But as promised base colours blocked in, ready for high lights, weathering and washes and repeat, always repeat.

More soon!

1000heathens: Thanks indeed Brother!, tell you what, you pay for the Flights and Transport and I will be delighted to escort the might of the Night Hunters over the big pond! :)

Always wanted to go to Alaska, baring the Mosquito's a stunning place!

I have been meaning to comment for a couple of days now. Your conversions are ace! I have most if not all the parts that you have used but where I lack is the creative part! That winch system is rad & the ramps for the attack bikes are a nice touch too. Your paint scheme, I don't know how long it must take but is soooo dang awesome. One fine fine super fine looking unit you got there mate! Keep up the great work dude :cuss

Good evening all!

Vissah: Cheers chap!

Dorns padawan: Very kind mate, regards the ideas, I blame a misspent youth buried in history and WW2/military reference books, some of the designs that have been dreamt up in the past are totally nuts, so perfect as base ideas for 40k but the key is a large bits box and trial and error, lots of error, before a design finally comes together! Regards the paint, yeah, some days the hexagons go on really even, easy and quick and on others they, er, don't. On those days it's advisable to step away from the painting table to avoid rage issues!

Doghouse: Thanks Doghouse, really trying the push myself with these so great to here that the details are being noticed! Regards the Sabre crew, came out far better than I had expected, am really happy with them, just have to hope I don't screw up the paint!

On to the weekends work, pretty happy with the progress:

Trying to get a shot of the weathering but not really coming out well

gallery_42238_5618_91853.jpg

But really pleased with the weathering on the metallics of the weapons:

That is all for today, c&c always welcome
