Hey guys. I have been at this WIP for just over two weeks now and thought it might be of interest.

I did a double check with Brother Tyler about posting so many images in one place and he said to go for it(I take pics of everything when i am doing a WIP).

I like the design of the Arvus but the size is too small for my tastes, and i am not a gamer, so i scaled the design up to 1/20 as that's the one i most often work in.

The engines are made from "found" items from a plumbing store, but the rest is pretty much styrene sheet cut to shape and glued together.

Figures are Maschinen Krieger items, some from Hasegawa, some from Brickworks in Japan(They will be painted eventually, but for now are just for scale).

Anyway, i will cut to the pics(There is a board limit for images, so i will spread them over a few posts). Hopefully they should speak for themselves, but if not, feel free to ask questions.

Just out of curiosity, how many hours, days,... months have you been working on it ?

I started the build just over two weeks ago. I had already made the front end master and made a mould some time ago, but I started adding stuff to that two weeks ago.

I usually build in my spare time sitting at work. I can usually get close to two hours a day on the project, and I sometimes come in on my days off or at nights to get a little more done if my schedule allows.

I'd say there is a little over twenty five hours in this build so far. I would have hoped to have been done by now, but I have been held up waiting for a custom set of blinking navigation lights to arrive. They are here now.

Truly impressive work. I like your eye for detail and the amount of work you put into small things like the landing gear.

 

Though my eyes are inadvertedly drawn to those miniatures you used to show the scale. I googled about a bit but while I found some stores that have the Maschinen Krieger mechs, I couldn't find those anywhere. Where did you get them?

Thanks. I am trying to make this as accurate as possible as a larger version of the Arvus. There are small details I have changed(the forge world kit has no display for the pilot which I have added, and the doorway between the front and back is a bit small, so I made mine bigger, etc).

I am also not adding the big pieces of equipment in the rear bay. I have no idea what they are meant to be for starters, and I am going to replace them with foldaway seats for passengers.

That is amazing stuff, must take a lot of patience to work through something like this! Liking all the Star Wars and other universe stuff, too :)

 

Now, is this meant for tabletop or display? As (bleep)-awesome as those are, I can't help but thinking they're not exactly heroic scale.

They're 1/20th scale, so I strongly doubt that they'd be for gaming. By contrast, 40k is roughly somewhere between 1/48th and 1/35th scale, depending on the models we're talking about. This scale would probably even be too big for Inquisitor.
