I love the vindicator squadron in your sig...and my (only) tri-las pred (from 2004?) has the exact same tank commander...definitely the same pose and same sword arm...maybe a different helmet-less head and definitely a different shoulder pad...I can't be bothered to unpack the tank and look at the head...but it's spooky to have almost the same conversion on the same tank with the same loadout...except my weapons aren't red, lol.

Cool RWCS brother, I just got back from losing 14-13KP in a 4500pt game vs BA/SW  My unpainted RWCS had some fun with some Sanguard/Dante and then some Vanguard Vets before they got plasma'd off by bloody SWs. Maybe if they were painted cool like yours they would have been better at jink saves :P

Really nice damage unit!!! (The Vindie and three plasma Dreads helped too ;) )

It's because the dice gods favour painted models ;)

I suppose there are only so many bits made and eventually loadouts are repeated. I did not copy yours honest :) Mine was based on this motivational poster

I seem to have forgotten to update this with my more recent stuff. It must be my increasing age msn-wink.gif

Apologies if these are repeated elsewhere - I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday smile.png

I don't really know what to say after looking at all these pictures Elmo.........

On the one hand, I want to say that I hate you with a passion; I've been in a painting funk for about 5 weeks now and seeing your work makes me jealous teehee.gif

On the other hand, you're Unforgiven and I suppose I have to grudgingly accept that you're just REALLY good at what you do. There's some beautiful work in this thread mate, I hope you're rightfully proud of what you've achieved even if it is upsetting your bank manager and/or spouse thumbsup.gif

Thanks Brothers.

The thing I like best is looking back at the first page or so and seeing how my painting has improved over this thread (I still make some complete messes though - took me 1 hour yesterday to paint 1 tau face, it just looked sooo bad).

I think the bank manager loves me but the wife thinks it should be spent on her shoes ;)

Thanks Brothers.

Yeah, they just don't get it do they? tongue.png

That's the beauty of an iterative process like painting, the more you do, the better you get, and the more you want to do it..... I still occasionally pick up the first marine I painted (an Ultramarine if you can believe it!) and fondly remember how proud I was of it even though I look at it now and realise it was utter pants! biggrin.png

I love what you have done elmo. Its really nice to see the progression in your painting from the 1st page to your most recent paint jobs. It gives me hope that my skill will grow too. I particularly liked the bike conversions the tech marine and librarian. PS I will be stealing the librarian conversion idea at some point. Keep them coming.

My Mum, bless her old socks is just retiring and planning on travelling the world for several years. She will be spending my inheritance too, I did tell her that is very selfish and if she were to pass away soon that would be better.

Best you complete your Chapter as soon as you can, hell if neccessary your kids can get a full time job to pay for food. Priorities, priorities, and if they make more than they can eat then you can tax them and spend it on more plastic!!! win, win.

We do joke a bit in my family so please read this in the cheeky manner it was intended tongue.png

Amazing stuff Elmo!

Question the first: Where did you get the Raven. I need one for a Chaplain I'm converting and that one is perfect...(Nevermore)

Question the second: Why don't we all send you each 1 standard Marine so you can finish your Chapter. I'm sure most of us would be willing (and able) to send you at least 1 standard marine or bits to make one... It would be amazing to see a full DA chapter....

Just a thought.... whistlingW.gif

The Raven is from the Giant sprue from warhamer fantasy.

Chocolate biscuit to [TA]Typher thumbsup.gif I built a giant for my Warhammer Orcs and Goblins army and had it left over. It fits perfectly.

Send your Marines to "Elmo's Unforgiven Chapter fund". All donations welcome wink.png

Since I saw the full UM chapter in WD I always wondered what a full Chapter of DA would look like. Maybe one day my dream will come true.....

Now the 4th is complete I will be filling out my 1st and 2nd before starting on a new company, not sure which one yet, sort of edging towards the 6th as I have loads of tacticals.

Now the 4th is complete I will be filling out my 1st and 2nd before starting on a new company, not sure which one yet, sort of edging towards the 6th as I have loads of tacticals.

Well rather than painting reserve companies I prefer painting the weapon option so that I can play any squad configuration.

This mean :

One sergent (often with a combi weapon)

9 tactical marines with bolter

3 tactical marines with special weapons

5 tactical marines with heavy weapons

This makes 18 marines for one tactical squad.

For assault squad I highly suggest to magnet the jet pack so that you can play either with or without them. Do that would give :

One vet sgt with CCW

9 marines with CCW and BP

2 marines with flamer

2 marines with PP

Hence 14 magnetized marines

For deva I've chosen to make both with 4ML because it's the most versatile weapon.

Then I've chosen to make 4 marines with MM and for with LC in a squad and 4 with HB and 4 with PC.

Hence it means :

One sergent

5 marines with bolters

4 marines with ML

4 marines with HB or LC

4 marines with MM or PC

So 18 marines per deva squad.

So 6x18 + 2x14 + 2x18 = 172 marines for a single company!

This allow you to paint more marines and stick to the "one battle company" limit

Also, I plan to paint 1 tactical, one termi and one bike squad of each successor to make a gathering of unforgiven force...

No need to paint a chapter... Paint a legion!

Paint a legion!

Is that like tasting the rainbow?

Awesome stuff Elmo! Besides, inheritances, pshaw. What your kids need is the ability to field an entire Chapter. Think of how many Thunderhawks you'll have around the house at that point. :D
