Clever Girl... - Wink Wink, Nudge Nudge

Greyall, which Chaos God do I have to pray to to be able to draw like that?!

Slaanesh. Without a doubt.

Oh, Gods, no, that's my least favourite of the pantheon.

I draw with fury and rage. Hell, I started bleeding from the nose while drawing, more than once. Surely that means Khorne sees my mechanical pencil as being mightier than the sword =D

My week was one of those that takes forever yet flies in a hearbeat. The Rainbow drawing did advance a bit, but not nearly as much as I wanted. I'll be doubling my efforts, now.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally...6th edition...aztec style. Hope you like it, mates, I'll start working on Apostle Thirst's request on the 25th - reason being I have some artwork to do for my loved one's birthday.

So tired...

Cheers, all.

Holy ;) !

Someone in GW needs to see this.

If GW can't see how smegging awesome the Rainbow Warriors can be after seeing this, then I truly despair....

Would it be possible to use this picture for the IA that I'm doing for them? It would be a privilege beyond measure ;)

Edit:

When I get around to doing a small army of Rainbow Warriors, I will be doing the head honcho to look as close to the central Marine as my meagre skills will allow.

Truly, truly awesome sauce!

Scenery...who needs scenery! ;)

We think alike =)

;)

On a serious note, I'd like to say that you must be some kind of mind reader, as that is exactly how I imagined them. The little glyphs on the shoulder guards are a really nice touch. There hasn't been a picture that you've done that I haven't liked so far Greyall, but this one, this one made my jaw drop (which reminds me, I need to pick it up off the floor in a minute ;) )

With regards to the IA, as far as I'm concerned the central Marine is Varagol (which is one of the few Characters GW thought up for the RW, and the central character of both my story and the IA, the other being Brother "Vermillion" who is in that Rogue Trader picture being attacked by a Sister)

Thanks again for taking the time for this. It's really made my day! ^_^

Looks like I have another long term project on the cards to get a model version of him done now. After E Tenebrae Lux, I'll be planning how to do him. I'll have to have a look at the GW site for Lizard men bitz! ^_^

You're truly an inventive artist. You always find a way to improve upon your past work and consequently I see a more refined, more complete rendition of your product.

It's great to have a personality such as yourself on the board, man. Hope all is well with you. <_<

He he, you know, your latest picture could have been how the DA turned out (to an extent), if the Native American theme had been expanded upon to include other historic cultures from the Americas, rather than abandoned. I like it. :)

You know Greyall for one who proudly shows his allegence to Khorne via your avatar, you have been call a mind reader on numerous counts. Since your able to "pluck" the exact ideas from ones heads, and put to pencil that vision. Your just lucky the Chaos gods don't have there own version of Inquisitors. Witch :) ( but your secret is safe with me)

OT Rainbow Warriors now got their rise to glory thanks to you.

Thank you very much for the kind words, mates. I was a little scared when I started drawing the feathered headpiece...then I really thought about the aztecs, their traditions, how fiercely they fought...and how equally "ridiculous" a horned helmet can seem, and I got over it.

Again, I have to thank the Lizardmen army book, awesome artwork there.

I wonder why the Aztec theme has never been applied to marines before. I mean... just look at how awesome this is... :D

It might be that it is distinctly non-european theme. Same reason that there are no asian, native north or south american, or african themed offical GW chapters. WHF has a good and solid mix of different themes from ancient cultures around the real world, with the exception of Asian culture, but 40k is severely lacking in that regard.

The Imperium in 40k is decidedly euro-centric in terms of it's cultures and themes.

Now that I've had time to bestill my beating heart I can offer some sensible criticism:

Jawbone McBolter's left leg is wacky. I thought I was looking at the greave but it's the cuisse is see isn't it?

Thumpstick McHelmet seems very broad across the....waist.
