Akan's Reavers

Gettin' kind of quiet in here... I worry that someone might attempt a hostile takeover of this thread if it stays silent for too long.

Only their worst Nightmare awaits those that try. Swift, unlooked for death is all they shall find as a reward for their hostility, their souls offered up to the unending power of the warp. Darkness shall be their embrace and eternal torture their bedfellow, for the long peace is not for them, and they will pay for their trespass. Know this, for their Nightmare darkness is given form, and I am watching.

Yeah.

I'll kill them, too.

Being skinned alive by The Flayer is a good reason not to hijack the thread too. He starts with the toes you know.......

........or something like that

"The loyalty engendered here is unusual. It cannot last for such things are but subject to the whims and desires of the Dark Gods. Trust no one, for death is merely lurking in the shadows, the seeds of Nightmare saturating its very fabric..."

Ahem. We're pretty loyal to Akan here aren't we? Who would've thought it, a gang of bloodthirsty renegades, looking for freedom, but hopelessly loyal to the first authority figure who takes us under his wing. Awwww... I think we need to kill some more. Where's those puny Guardsmen...

Forgive my flights of fancy. I need some coffee.

@Saa The Flayer does like to complicate things somewhat doesn't he?

Nothing worthwhile is ever easy ;) Even a frothing madman can take pride in his craft! Haha

I will admit, its a trifle creepy to me. Toes. Urgh. I'm definitely not a toe person. At least, certainly not a dismembered toe person. Haha. Nightmare can relate to the fear a flayer engenders however, so you're all good. ;)

Am I hte only one who merely takes joy in the combative dismemberment of the enemy?.....so I drink their blood its no big deal....a lot of people do that....don't they?

If we are short a few mortals youll know why....blood goes nice cooked into the gravy and used as a chianti substitute for roast beef.

"Loyalty is for those too incompetent to see to their own ambition. In the end, blood and brotherhood mean nothing more than a scrap of rotted parchment on the floor or so distant whisper on some forgotten world. Akan, the incredulous fool, is only alive because he is still of use to me and his safety keeps me from beneath the Tyrant's executioner blade. And I am still only alive because I am useful to him, and I am the only one capable of making something useful out of this troupe of

conceited half-wits and imprudent filth. It is simply business and will remain that way until one of us runs out of use, but then again that is true loyalty, is it not?...."

Heathens, I think your followers are getting restless... :D

Good. As long as their hands are around each other's throats, they aren't around mine....lol.

Seriously though, It was the thanksgiving holiday here in the states on Thursday, and my big trip is coming up soon, so I've been spending time with my family as much as possible. I have been doing a lot of research for both the PA and non-PA elements of this army though, and also have been chipping away at Yogi's Brother Ixion. Hopefully sunday, time permitting...

Some of the vehicle plans I have been looking at, bumming around multiple forums and stealing borrowing ideas ( :) ), has been a replacement for the Sentinel for a Dark Mechanicus equivalent, like so...

From MiG productions. I love the look, but a bit worried it might be a bit large...

Found this on coolminiornot, thought it looked pretty neat. Seems a simple enough conversion too...

(Please note, this isn't mine!!!!!!!!)

Thoughts?

"You appear to have incorrectly evaluated this situation Blood Poet. Watch the dark, for it conceals the blade that seeks to pierce your flesh. You are alive, because you have not yet felt Nightmare's embrace."

*snip*

The second one looks pretty cool. I like it :)

"Hehehehe.... How cute, but there are those greater than a deranged imbecile too inept to remember his own name and refers to himself in the the third person as imaginary work of the subconscious, who have attempted this and none have obviously succeeded in such an impossible task. Just as your pet name suggests, you are a nightmare of stupidity but while you have the insurmountable ability to bestow upon me this throbbing headache, a nightmare is nothing more than a work of the imagination and is truly a negligible thing. Remember this, if you can, when I dispatch you to charge an enemy bunker next time I get this chance. Perhaps if your punitive brain can muster the power, you could remember your own name before the heavy bolters rip the rotting meat from your worthless corpse...."

(All jokes and amusing squabbling with my lesser aside, B) I have to say definitely go with the first one. It looks perfect for the style your going with and it kinda reminds me of old WWI and II tanks, and I know how much you love those. <_< I personally think the second one just looks too advanced and Dark Machanicumy (is that a real word, cause it should be) but just my two cents mate. )

"Fool. My history harks back before you mortal scum were but ameoba crawling the surface of your mother planet. My name is not forgotten. Before the dark majesty of the Gods names matter not, for they see our souls laid bare, and Nightmare hopes you have the constitution to match the eloquence that frames your words. Do not presume to mistake my words for stupidity, for death matters not to me. A Nightmare never truly dies; it lives on in the fear sown in the hearts of the living. You may be Astartes, but you had best hope that your misplaced words and false confidence can save you when the Gods will in me is made manifest, and death looks upon you, and beckons you to join him in insanity. I AM NIGHTMARE. Forget that at your peril, illiterate Poet."

You bear not the Icon of our masters....learn your place dog lest the true powers shackle your pallid delusions to the frame of insanity. once my breath gasps its final rattle may you consider yourself worthy of raising the glorious standard of our illustrious Lords and perchance your prattle may see the fruit of thy labours. Cease your challenges lest your skin become one with the dark flag I bear against Akan's foes!!!!

"Oh, would you idiots just shut up?!? We're lucky as it is that the mass of your egos hasn't created some sort of gravitic distress in this rickety station and killed us all yet."

 :D :D

Best. Quote. Ever.

Edit: Some more opinions on the MiG walker / dark mechanicus creation would be highly appreciated, gents... ^_^

That made me laugh :) Waxing lyrical clearly doesn't sit well with all the members of Akans Reavers haha

Saa

.....or something like that

Edit: My vote goes for the 2nd walker, the 1st looks a little *cough* 'Imperial' /spit :woot:

*flicks through data for each design*

Lord, for a siege the first design is far more practical, while the abilities of the second are truly impressive, as our weapons trooper has assessed, it is impractical while we only manage the resources upon this station. Look at the data banks, its scanners. The mere fact that we will have to sacrifice much to bind some *spits* warp souls into it for our purpose. Its unthinkable! the first design, bolted metal, mortal useable controls. Its functional, able to be mass produced, as we all know mortals will fail us often. It is in short, the better design for our purppose of sieging and therefore, gives us the ability to hit more reinforced postitions. Anything else is ludicrious.

As for you skulker of the night, the standard will fly high, no shaddow will harm it while we are abord this station! And with my cursed blesing from HIM will make it very interesting for you to try and torture me, when my flesh will reknit and your bones will stay shattered! It would not be wise for you to pick a fight with your betters skulker! Go scare some slaves, for they are all who will know you as thier betters!

"Silence, you fools! Your constant bickering and cries penetrate even my auto-senses! I swear if I have to hear even one more of your pathetic yelps i will rip your souls apart and fling them to the gods themselves, though I know not what they will want with such worthless trinkets. It's only my faith in Akan's judgement that stops me from kicking you all out the nearest airlock, but my patience is not infinite...

In regards to the constructs, Lord, I fully support the daemon engine, if that is what it is. I myself can speak with confidence on the power the Gods bring. Why trust in foolish and weak mortals when the scions of our masters can wield our weapons of war?"

And what, Callor, would those 'mighty' gods ask in return? I know what curses they bestow unpon us mortals, look at yourself, on the road to spawndom! And yet still you revere them thus! Though I may serve you, that is as our lord wishes, and I Thorn The Coward, do my duty, but You are a worm, a pawn for them to play with and then discard. Only by fighting their influences over you can you truly grow strong, use them as a tool, not bow to their every wish!

And what would you know of fighting? you probably allow deamons to do your fighting for you!, allow them to run amok in your body and kill, for you do not have the strength! No, I serve you out of duty to our lord, but when your gods see fit to discard you, I will be waiting...
