@ Malika666 - yes indeed it is, I have three of them, all being used as Grand Cruisers, one of them as a Venerable in my Space Marine fleet.

@ DinoDoc - They are slightly larger than the standard Imperial Cruiser/Battlecruiser but smaller than the Imperial Battleship

@ Rune Priest Ridcully - They can be obtained from a few different places, I will flick you a PM.

They certainly would make a good model for either a Battlecruiser or Grand Cruiser, I find that the Battlecruisers can often be a little hard to differentiate from the Cruisers, espeically for newbies (like myself) simply because they are the Cruiser model, just with turret on the top. I found that the smooth prowed version of the helios just lends itself to the Grand Cruiser statline so well.

Just found this on Facebook:

Hi BGH fans! From Zac's workbench we're excited to share a final sneak peak of the Helian Frigate master model prior to final priming and then moulding. If all goes to plan they will be available for order from the Battlegroup Helios website in early February. Next up we will begin work on the Assault Frigate variant.

You could use them for Crusade/Heresy era marines I think. As for post-Heresy, the escorts will do just fine. However, also keep in mind that some chapters also have old ships from the Crusade/Heresy that might be other classes than your standard Battle Barge and Strike Cruiser.

I was under the impression that the metal BFG releases didn't include any instructions.....

Certainly, the blister escorts did not, and now that I think about it, even the boxed plastics only had quick sketches on the sleeve. Most the ships are fairly self-explanatory, but googling pics might be your best bet.

Right..... deep breath.....

The Idolators are simple, just glue a bridge (small piece) onto the flat area on the opposite side. Turrets too ?

The Desolator is easy too. The four large bits are the hull, glue/pin them solid, add one bridge from your choice of two onto that, and you've a pair of structure bits to glue onto the bridge, just under the overlap.

Add twelve turrets to the decks, and the two pointy bits to the rear of the hull, and volia !

There's some good pics here for the Desolator, and some Idolators here.

BFG Tournament in march at Darksphere games in london, there is a thread on the darksphere gamesworkshop page.
1250pts
On the one hand it's got me all fired up to finish repainting my bfg, and to finish my scratch build voss ships, well, untill I saw the BFGR rules and what had been done to the poor, poor defiant class.
It's proving a pain to build a list I like, my first ettempt ran over points and it's trying to cut that twenty down which is proving a pain :P
