Unofficial vow complete. This also marks the first time I have completed a B&C event. The chaplain is posing in front of my favourite beverage (brewed in a 12th century Hospitaller monastery). Hooray!

Edit: No fiery orange was hurt in the painting of this model.

3rd vow finished, Vindicator done, now I have to start working on my Chaplain.

If you're interested in more (and I mean MORE) shots of my tank, here's a link to my WIP thread.

I really regret I couldn't commit more to this great challenge and couldn't help other members of the community with more finished vows and more points for our glorious Chapter. But now I have a personal challenge: break the 1K vowed points limit. It's not a lot in comparison to some of you guys, but making such a 'symbolic' gesture (symbolic, because 1K ca be regarded as symbolic :eek) is the least I can do. For our Chapter and our Subforum!

“I Brother Cristopher answer the challenge of the Unforgiven and vow to complete one Master of Sanctity (Artificer armour, Bionics [WYSWIG: respirator], Frag Granades, Holy Orb, Master-crafted Plasma Pistol) from Codex: Black Templars of total value 176 points on or before August 15. Success will bring eternal glory to Black Templars and failure will doom me to bear the sign of damnation until the year-end”

Captain Semper, in case the 'respirator' isn't enough for bionics, please subtract 5 points.

EDIT: I've forgotten about the 'before' picture:

9th vow complete! I have painted one 5-man crusader squad with las cannon and plasma gun.

“again I ChaplainCliff answer the challenge of the Unforgiven for the 10th time and vow to complete one 5-man crusader squad with las cannon and plasma gun from Codex: Black Templars of total value 101 points on or before August 15. Success will bring eternal glory to the Black Templars and failure will doom me to bear the sign of damnation until the year-end”

ONLY 24 HOURS TO GO UNTIL THE END OF E TENEBRAE LUX!

So make haste – this time tomorrow the doors close forever! Set your B&C clock to GMT time, this is what I’m going by. Please make sure you got the daylight saving time correct! Even London is at +1 GMT at the moment.

Good luck to all!

I take it that you will be wearing the badge of shame for ever then? Should you fail that is

The "F" word is not in the Templar dictionary.

Ahem, Brother Darklight...

1. Take pictures

2. Build the drop pod

3. Paint it

4. Then make a new vow

DO NOT RISK YOUR MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS!

We have this. A day ago I was looking through all the other ETL threads from the other forums. The rest have given up. The Wolves are all focused on their drunken challenges. Keep steady the course. ONLY COMMIT TO WHAT YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU CAN DELIVER. There is confidence and there is foolishness. Know the difference. Remember, this effort is for the honor of our chapter.

We do not go out in a blaze of glory. We make the other guy die in a blaze of righteousness.

Ah yes. Wise words indeed. I shall not take the unnecessary risk for the good of the Chapter. Consider my vows completed and locked in.

@chaplaincliff: Excellent!! Another for the Deca-vow club! :( I hope you can pull it off. As Captain Semper just pointed out, 24 hours left!

Well Brothers my real life Crusade came to an end soon enough to finish my second Vow.

gallery_66861_7373_9374.jpg

One Emperor's Champion, and a Land Raider Crusader with Dozer Blades, Storm Bolter, Smoke Launchers, Search Lights, and Sacred Hull. A total of 399 points.

Here are some extra shots of the LRC.

med_gallery_66861_7373_126207.jpg

It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun to finish this one. Both the EC and LRC are key parts of my army so having them fully painted is really nice. To victory brothers!

<slaps forehead...like hard>

Lysere, that is an awesome LR. I have just recently gotten some of those panels and I was wondering where they would fit and then *ding* you post. That's very cool looking. I would like to see some pics at some point how you did the dozer blades as I need some tips for an upcoming project.

Brother Cristopher, what an awesome looking vindicator. I really like all the bone on the side panels, that's very distinctive and cool looking.

@Templar14: You bad. Beautiful chaplain.

AAAAAND you +7 Vow guys are really starting to wind me up and make me nervous...in a good way of course.

Eight vow complete in record time (at least for me >.>)

Marshall with a Master Crafted Bolter, Artificer Armour, Terminator Honours, Adamantine Mantle,Power Weapon, Bionics and Jump Pack

edit: screw it I still have a couple more models that can count as marshalls!

NINTH VOW:

I redmapa answer the challenge of the Unforgiven and vow to complete a Marshall with a Holy orb of antioch, artificer armour, bolt pistol, iron halo and master crafted plasma pistol from Codex: Black Templars of total value 166points on or before August 15. Success will bring eternal glory to The Black Templars and failure will doom me to bear the sign of damnation until the year-end

after a closer inspection on the model I've changed the vow, nothing major just added a plasma pistol..

This is rather amazing! Seeing the zeal of our brethren completing vow upon vow is truly impressive. Great work brothers! No other will stand next to us.

On a side note, I am also staying up late for my vow. One miniature (the other one having been completed for the crusade expansion a while ago) and I finish it with less than 24 hours to go... BUT, to be fair, I haven't completed anything in 2 years, so for me, that's huge! Thanks to you all for the inspiration, and to Semper for making it happen :)

The panels were from the bastion, never knew what I was gonna do with them until I got the LRC.

The dozer blade was easy, just took a decent saw a minute or two of cutting. If I get another one I'll post it in my WIP thread. (It's in the sig somewhere)

TABLES UPDATED - no time to make individual remarks, suffice to say your work guys is steadily of a very high standard!

I just would like to congratulate Templar14 - The ETL being the first competition he actually finishes (even if it is an out-of-competition entry) make me swell with pride!

PLEASE CHECK THE TABLES... You guys alone have 146 vows pledged, the chances of an oversight increase exponentially!

It's one small step for the Black Templars, but one giant leap for Arthanor ;) Haven't painted in two years but here they are:

EC Arcturus and Marshal Arthanor (TH,SS, Artificer armor, Honours, meltabombs, holy orb, adamantine mantle) of the Laurentia crusade:

gallery_65953_7325_12583.jpg

Much better pictures will be uploaded shortly, but I was not sure I would be able to before the deadline, so the cellphone picture will have to do for now.

(Note: the shield hides a fair amount but everything will be shown in the pictures to come. Everything is painted ;))

Capt'n Semper: Thanks again for organizing this. It took me all the duration of the ETL to paint two minis, but that's more than I painted in two years. Maybe I'll paint more!

All my brethren: You make me proud! Such skill and dedication, it's impressive.

Thank you for the comments brothers :)

@ Marshal Veyross: I was looking at the power effect on the fist and it looks so cool, it dawned to me: I'd really would like to see your take on Night Lords. Seriously, start with a test model - and then the new boxed set would be an excellent way to start. Consider it! Beutiful mini btw.. Your status is updated.

Funnily enough, my brother was once a proud templar himself back in the days of 3rd edition before even codex armagedon. shamefully though, he fell to the taint of chaos and joined the cause of the night lords. I inherited his abandoned templars while still in my youth and my crusade started there all those years ago. Since both of us recently returned to the hobby after a long hiatus, my brother asked me to paint one of his night lords for him. Unfortunately it was nothing fancy so no lightning effects, just a standard chaos bolter marine. I still demanded my pound of flesh however and painted a large white templars cross on the bottom of his base :D

@Marshal Veyross: That model looks great. By far one of my favorite chaplain models. I love the way you did the powerfist. Do you have any pictures of the back side so I could see how the effect wraps around? I might have to steal that idea for my own Master of Sanctity.

The lightning effect was painted at 1 in the morning while in a slight rush so I am unsure if I am totally happy with how it turned out. Yours and the great Honda's words have helped to put my fears at ease though, so thank you. I have a picture from the back, but unfortunately due to the angle of the fist, the effect didnt really photograph too well.

Brother Arthanor, I know I have said it before but.... that banner, that banner THAT BANNER! :woot: I want to have it enlarged to life sized proportions and wear it around while I do my grocery shopping. That has to be my favorite banner I have ever seen (white dwarf, blog, and interwebs included). To say that I love it would be a gross understatement

Amazing work

TABLES UPDATED! (pls check!)

You guys are at almost 40k points and I'm sure youll exceed them...

@ Arthanor: Good to see the ETL was motivating enough for you to get back to painting - it's very rewarding!

@ Smirnov: REALLY beutiful minis there... The golden laurels are a piece of art to be copied for sure!!!
