Thanks guys :)

Kovash: I do, but I just don't know what specials to include, 6th has changed everything, I want plasma, but the only oldskool plasmas I have are from the chaos marines box. And I'm not sure about their providence.

Irwit: what do you think is off about the sword? I originally wanted to do it purple, but didn't have the right paints.

It just looks a bit shiney and high elfish compared to the dirt and grim and reality of the rest of the paint job. For me it just jars a bit. I would of thought it would be a more traditional metal with some stains.

Thanks guys for all the great comments :)

I love them Aaron!

Are you in the UK or US?

My LFGS has a group of us who are doing HH armies over the next few months, and I'd have to say when mine if finished, I think it'd be an awesome site to place it next to yours! :P

I'm actually in Austraiia, so it's doubtful we can get a game in lol, take some pic of the armies though, I'd love to see them.

What's the paint combo you're using for the sea green armour?

The green is :

Its a 70:30 mix of vallejo panzer aces-USMC tank crew:astronomicon grey, then a 50:50 highlight of that mix, a final highlight of astro grey. Then weathered. Hope that helps ;)

Just a quick post to show the next 5 marines PIP.

Thanks for the recipe! I'd already mixed two colours together to get a similar idea, using grey too - but I think yours looks better. If you don't mind i'd like to use it for my own Sons! You've pretty much single handedly persuaded me to take a SOH army over another chapter with this blog!

I like the weathering too, have never tried anything like that! Would love to have a description too.

Hope to see you here then CMA ;)

Well its been a busy couple of painting days here at Casa De Sheep. I've managed to knock out the last of the tac squad, and their ride.

Obviously running a missile launcher and plasma gun gives the squad alot of versatility on the table and helps with those pesky terminators in 6th.

Next is their ride.

I used the deathwind launcher from the drop pod kit as a pre chaos havoc launcher, I think it look pretty brutal and alot better then the chaos dildo launcher.

A group shot of what I've completed for the 6 month challenge:

and a final group shot of all the SoH model completed so far:

Thanks for looking :P

Thanks guys :cuss

like you said longfang, I made it onto the GW White Dwarf daily blog :)

irwit: the bases are done as follows- Made with a combination of cork tile, secret weapons razorwire, slate and random GW plastic bitz

tamiya grey spray

wash w/watered down badab

drybrus codex grey

drybrush astronomicon grey

wash w/FW pigment dried mud

drybrush lightly w/astro grey

Dude with a brush: The trims are painted with Vallejo real gold paint, highlighted with chainmail, then washed with badab black and devlan mud.

Thanks MCA :)

Irwit: The wash is made with white spirit and the powders, as the spirit evaporates it adheres to the previous layer of paint. Then you matte varnish the model and that stops it going anywhere.

The next guy completed for this army came together much more quickly then I anticipated, probably because I rushed him, and because I fell into the trap of over weathering him. I'm not unhappy with the results until I put the two completed dreads together and compare them, the first has a much more controlled application of chipping which I prefer the finish of.

Anyway, here's the pics: Completed Kheres Mortis Contemptor.

The finish is slightly darker on the armour too, which I'm not sure how it happened. I am happy with how the home made assault cannons fit with the stock FW body, and how the 3 pieces of hazard striping turned out, and frame the face and Eye of Horus.

Finally I have a pic of the IF marine about to be cockroached by Mr Mortis.

Again I think I may have over done the weathering slightly, but I am very happy with the yellow and the pose.

Unfortunately for the blog, and my painting, I will be taking a break. I'm leaving for a 10 day holiday to Bali on Saturday, followed by moving house 4 days after my return. I have finished the Harpy for my nids, and will put pics of it up in the meantime, but there might be a slightly longer pause til the next completed Sons make an appearance.

Til later.
