Thanks guys :)

I started an Ad mech log that got eaten by the forum reset, but since then I've done some more sons, so I'll show them first before I try to get motivated to start another log.

These guys aren't for me unfortunately, they are a commission for a guy from the US. I hope he likes them.

FW sent through some very nice casts, though I didn't realise til I painted the face that the right eye of the terminator was miscast, so I turned it into a scar, and in a first for me, the swords were all straight! No hot water required.

The bases are from Dragon-forge, and were quite nicely cast too.

Following my normal tradition of taking poo photos though the bases and gold lack depth in the shots, I really need to set up a proper photo booth.

What do you think of the base colour? Should I change mine from the urban to this? I kind of like how the sea green pops off the base.

Thanks for looking.

A shame these are commissioned, as I want more! One lucky dude for sure.

A while back I asked you for your gold recipe via PM, I have the paints but can't recall the exact process.

Was it Vallejo Liquid Gold - Old Gold, followed by a wash of Devlan Mud/Badab Black, and edge highlighted with Chainmail? That sounds about right to me. Would you be able to elaborate?  :)

I should have never gone into this thread. Seeing models like these makes me want to quit the hobby...

Jealousy aside, these are incredible yes.gif

Don't let it weigh you down and make you want to quit. Look at it as a something to inspire you and push your abilities so that you can produce something like that in time.

Thanks gents, glad you all like them so much :) sorry to dissuade you bass wave, like kage said, I hope they inspire you to try, I didn't start off painting like this, I had to practice ALOT!

Potato: you got the paints right, I laid the base of old gold, Devlan wash, shining gold highlight, and then a shining gold/chain mail, then a black wash in the crevasses.

Ludovic: I will be doing them concurrently I think :)

Just a quick one today, I managed to find some time this afternoon to prime and base coat these guys.

Hi again guys, some more work has been done on my sons, and their allies. . . .

These guys are are all done up to the oils stage which will define all the armour plates alot more.

Firstly, the Azreal counts as:

http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m289/Sheep_06/Sons%20of%20Horus/SoHAzrealCA_zps79ead9a4.jpg

Second is some apothecaries, after the oils I'll add some more blood to their armour, removing progenoids can be a messy business.

Next is my take on the Worldeaters, which I'll be using as assault marines, they'll all be getting MkIV jumppacks and butchers nails markings.

In the vein of the WE's, the Sgt for the squad, or some kind of preator if the WE section gets out of hand.

Finally . . . . .

Thanks gents :)

Those are awesome Sheep! Loving that Night Lords head!

Coming from the current lord of Nightlords that high praise indeed :) Thankyou

Where are the headplumes on those SofH from?

Modified Capt Sicarius plumes as deathgivenform said :)

Going to hazard a guess and say they're from Captain Sicarius, slightly converted to remove the Ultra symbols.

Looking good Sheep, although I feel like the white armor could use a little more depth.

Good guess mate, right on the money. As I said in the post, all of them still need their oil washes, so that'll add some depth to the white.

Love the world eater dude

Can't decide if it looks like he has taken his helmet off to gloat

or has pulled the head out of the helmet to gloat

All I know Is that he is awesome.

The latter option :) His Mk IV helm is mag locked to his belt. I'm not sure which legion to paint the vanquished officer from, Iron hands or salamanders?

Fantastic stuff mate! thumbsup.gif

Cheers mate, good to see you're still around :)
