Lachdannan
Fantastic models. I really love the base scheme you have for them as well. It looks like you have some cork on there. May I ask what paints you used to get that desert effect? Retributis
Aye that Praetor is beautiful - Where did you get the lightning claws from? Dragonkin Arenis
Retributis, I think the claws are from the Cataphractii Special Weapons set. So pleased to see more of your Sons, Sheep! I love the Praetor - might have to try the helmet conversion myself when I get my hands on the model. sheep
Thanks gents :) The tournament that prompted me to finish these guys is on this weekend, so expect some action pics soon :) Brother Syth: the rocks are all cork, you're right there. The bases were all sprayed grey with tamiya surface primer, then painted or airbrushed with tamiya dark yellow, then drybrushed bleached bone. I then washed them with a watered down sepia ink (60% water probably) and left them to dry over night. Then a final drybrush of bone and they're done. they look really boring til you add the grass, and you can add pigments too to get some more variation if you want. Retribrutus: Dragonkin got it right, they are from the Cataphractii special weapons pack. sheep
Hi all, sorry for the lack of content, but Uni has been kicking my ass, and I'm lazy. Enough excuses, on to the content of this post. Alternate BFG ships! http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m289/Sheep_06/IMG_2721_zps021ab6fb.jpg These have been made by a friend of mine Mangozac, as a component of a line of ships he's done as commissions for other people and have been in a limited run, and I managed to get a couple in exchange for painted pics for advertisement, so no pressure then. Can see more of his BFG work HERE, or His website/forum/blog HERE. These ships are great, the components came almost mold-line free, and perfectly cast, a credit to Zac as this is a "garage" kit. http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m289/Sheep_06/IMG_2722_zpsaf5eb42a.jpg In a complete brain fade I forgot to take any WIP pic that were in focus and worth posting, so here's finished pics instead. http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m289/Sheep_06/IMG_2732_zpsd634e8ed.jpg http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m289/Sheep_06/IMG_2729_zpsa25af51e.jpg Sooo, considering the differences in shape to the regular (and still sadly OOP) plastic ships I thought these would look good as HH era ships. Fluff wise for the colour scheme I'm saying that the ships were Lunar wolves before the change to SoH, and painting a house is a pain in the ass, imagine painting a 25km long ship, hence the SoH green spot colour. Chipping at this scale would have been a bit strange I thought, so I left that out of the scheme. Hope you all enjoyed this break from silence, I'm back into study for second semester now, so content will be patchy (probably non existent) for another 12-14 weeks before normal service will resume again. sheep
I actually tried to find this thread before I started the one about my word bearers, but failed. I would have posted Horus in here if I had known it was still around, I thought it was lost in one of the server crashes. I'd love to help if I could Thamier, just send me a pm if you have a question. Dosjetka you get to be a justarian or atramentar (which ever I build first) for being such a good bodyguard ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/254518-sons-of-horus-once-more-into-the-breach/page/7/#findComment-4242969 Share on other sites
